Get Real ,   UK   (02.01.13)
I suspect Hague refrained from any criticism of Israel as it may have mistakenly been taken as implied British sympathy or support for Assad. At least he recognises that Israel is not 'the root cause' of the Syrian crisis. No surprise then that the BBC has not prominently reported Hague's comments on any of its main mid-east sites.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.01.13)
I suppose you could be right, but I confess that my initial reaction was simply that (i) the British were not informed in advance (well, Israel did not inform any country in advance) and were still formulating a response; or (ii) they were too busy heaving giant sighs of relief that tiny Israel is -- yet again -- cleaning up the geopolitical messes of others. Not to mention the prospect of all those neurological, biological and chemical agents that might fall into uncertain hands. Imagine a repeat of 07/07 with -- oh, say, sarin or smallpox or anthrax instead of C-4 in the mix. Tiny Israel, coming to the rescue of civilization yet again. It's growing tiresome.
33. Who cares what Hague thinks
Barry ,   Tokyo   (02.01.13)
He should critisize his own nation for supporting Arabs just for the sake of their oil and the possibility of peddling second rate British products. Britain should drop the "Great", starting to sound like an oxymoron
34. No one should critise Iran/Hezboll/Syria
lydia ,   Brisbane   (02.02.13)
When Iran/Lebanon/Syria returns the favor, then no one should criticize.
35. Ghetto, ghetto, ghetto
Devorah   (02.01.13)
So Hague decided not to butcher us today, and we express our gratitude. How long before we scrap this ghetto attitude? Give Hague no latitude. He'll turn on us with greater magnitude.

#23 Ezra. That resolution also forbid Hezbollah to re-arm! No-one paid much attention to that either (except Israel). #25 Harrold. Israel is far from a monster and it has no responsibility to answer to anyone. It is a sovereign country, perfectly within it's right to defend itself and very able as well. It is the Arabs who ended any validiity or authority established by the Balfour declaration, not Israel. Read a history book.
37. Britain trying to curry favour with us? They they'll need it

38. Hague says....
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (02.02.13)
He cannot condemn Israel because also the NATO - UK is one of the members - is military involved after the installation of Patriots batteries in Turkey. It's better for the NATO, Europe and the UK that Israel does the job. They hesitate too much or they are simply: cowards.

Never said Jerusalem and if the word Jerusalem were changed to Israel then we'd have the truth rather than a lie.
