31. CUT THE WITCH HUNT CRAP ALREADY!!!
Shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (02.06.13)
32. Haredim are problem
Jewish Patriot ,   Galut   (02.06.13)
Very serious problem who do strong damage to the country's economy, social life, and image too. We should avoid to become Saudi Arabia. No matter that they claim to be religious, I really don't care, but I would never pay, anything for them, they should get education, work, join army, integrate, or they can go with Arabs... seems rude, but it is better to stop them before they start riots and a civil war... just remember their raid on IDF base... terrorists...
33. The half-brain
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (02.06.13)
comprehension of these secular responses, borne from a deluded, empty culture, doesn't make them any better than these fanatic extremes of modesty.
34. 30 David R.,Charles is a wonderful..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.06.13)
man [with drawbacks].He deserves all the kisses in the world. But i am not in the kissing mode.since i am an orthodox woman.
35. Ora , 26 . It's better
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.06.13)
to give a child a loving family , even when the biological mother is paid . It benefits everyone . Don't threat me , Ora , it's something i can't accept .
36. reuven , 18
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.06.13)
It's not immoral to show a beautyfull girl , SANE people are not influenced by the view of a half naked beauty . But probably that when seeing a pair of shoes your alikes become "crazy" . Those who act in this way make a laugh of religion , distance sane Jews more and more from such a "belief"
37. Shoes
marian ,   Romania   (02.06.13)
Haredim are wright, they prevent sexual fetishism.
38. Article brings back memories
Scarborough1414 ,   Scarborough, ON, CA   (02.06.13)
If the Hareidim want to live a bonkers lifestyle, that's fine, but not on my dime. But if they can make it work for them, fine. BUT, and it's a big but (no pun intended), I draw the line at their trying to impose their chumras (over-exaggerations of Torah law) on the rest of us. I especially draw the line at violence on their part, whether it be against property (vandalism) or against people. The harassment of 8-year old Na'amah Margolies of Beit Shemesh a year or so ago left me profoundly disturbed. If she had been say 16-17 and dressed in cutoff shorts and gave the Hareidim the finger, well I would have understood their anger (but not their actions). But a little 8-year old? Is nothing sacred for them? Let this be known among all Hareidim: If you harass any of my female relatives in E"Y, you will have to answer to me. Got that? Don't even THINK about trying anything near me. Keep your insanity to yourselves. May we never meet.
39. #25 about Jewish rabbis and chimpanzees
(02.06.13)
all of this is biologically determined primate behavior...nothing to do with Torah. Chimpanzees form troops. When the troop reaches a certain size it splits apart into two different troops. These tyrannical rabbis who must be obeyed are simply alpha males. The modesty rules are a way to suppress alpha behavior in beta males. who are a threat to the alpha male ( rabbi).
40. 38 Do you feel threatened as far as...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.06.13)
in California ?May be ,if you talk long enough,it will make sense.
41. I hope they will leave our country
Cohen,Israel   (02.06.13)
once the Orthodox draft will begin...
42. haredi
freida ,   Brazil   (02.06.13)
I'm starting to believe that all this haredi are pedophiles and should be in jail or get help somehow. They are women haters and in a very short time they will ask to kill all the women in the country.
43. 39 You seem to get all mixed up.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.06.13)
Not the religious Jews who are ape descendants but the Secular who believed in Darwin s theory.
44. 35 Charles,a good way to threaten ..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.06.13)
somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone, "Hear that"you say "that s dynamite, baby".
45. 41 I wish to see your hope applied...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.07.13)
to yourself
46. #20 I think Rabbi Amnon Yitzchak asked a fellow in the crowd
L ,   Merkaz, Israel   (02.07.13)
once, if he would get turned-on by looking at women in bikinis at the beach, to which the young man said, "No," with a look on his face like 'what kind of a pervert do you think I am?' R' Yitzchak replied, "That's too bad". It is exactly the opposite of what you imply: OVERexposure is what removes people from intimacy. Think about it. Most Haredim marry when they're young, so there is an outlet, they aren't "repressed". They refrain from touching at all during the menstrual time -- so there is a sense of relationship renewal, even in a long-time marriage (the desire for the forbidden fruit, thrill of the chase, etc). When there is restraint, when there are limits, when there is a little mystery and it's not all hanging out and accessible anytime....there is more. ....and less becomes more. Subtlety. Sexuality these days is on public display everywhere. It's as subtle as a freight-train. There is no mystery out there anymore. No, an empty woman's shoe is not anything that most modern-day men would usually find in-and-of-itself anything to light the imagination. If, however, women around your circle are not constantly exposed, perhaps it might spark a hint of a thought.... Tell me where the dysfunction actually lies.
47. Ora , i'm busy abroad . Much work !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.07.13)
שבת שלום
48. Ora , 44 . Don't do it !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.07.13)
You could endanger your own life ....
49. 47 Well done Charles,Hatzlaha !
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.07.13)
50. 48 Charles, is it that obvious?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.07.13)
Then i can forget about selling this patent to the enemy.Too bad.
51. #43 Ora
(02.08.13)
your religious friends are no more nor less likely to exhibit typical primate behavior than seculars. Seculars and religious alike are subject to the same primate instinct to form troops ( i.e. tribes, cults, religions, nations ) and these groups are subject to splitting away of sub-groups.
52. Haradi Behaviour?
BrianR ,   London UK   (02.08.13)
"..or for that matter, young boys and teens the same age as my grandchildren jumping out of a bus seat as if they had been stabbed when I make to sit down in the next seat." It may be that their behavior was being misinterpreted here. Perhaps they have been taught to immediately give up their seats to senior citizens, if so, they should be praised. I'm by no means a supporter of certain aspects of the Haradi community, but I have noticed that their children do tend to be better behaved than most. As for the censorship of photographs - well, it is their own newspaper, and, as they say, 'The editor's decision is final.' Difficult as it is, let's tolerate our differences.
53. #26 - don't heterosecuals do that too?
William ,   Israel\   (02.08.13)
Surrogate mothers are not just the idea of homosexuals, Ora.
54. #30 -but for G-d sakes....NO dancing!!
William ,   Israel   (02.08.13)
55. #33 - this is not a case of modesty
William ,   Israel   (02.08.13)
Modesty laws - most of which are far beyond that in the Torah - are meant for an actual human being, not objects. If an empty shoe creates modesty issues for males, then it indicates a larger dysfunction in society.
56. #43 - you have your religion
William ,   Israel   (02.08.13)
but science trumps all races and creeds. Just ask the flu.
57. Does this mean...
Jasmin ,   Haifa   (02.10.13)
that clotheslines must be segregated too? Heaven forbid a girl's blouse should touch a boy's shirt. No, wait a minute. If we're going to be consistent here, we need to have separate laundry baskets! Some people obviously have *way* too little to think about!
