1. Yes, sit in the back Gal-On.
William ,   Israel   (02.07.13)
And squeal from time to time but you're not needed. If a peace initiative comes up, having Meretz there will only torpedo the efforts by sullying the credibility, not helping it. Case in point, the Saudi peace Initiative is a heavily flawed document that provides no protection from non-State players like Hizbullah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and leaves open wide interpretation on issues that a massive chasm already exists - like refugees and Jerusalem. Granted, Meretz doesn't care about Jerusalem so giving that all away is not a problem for Gal-On. And flooding Israel with foreign hostile elements is OK as long as they have social justice. Meretz might just see them as a potential voter bloc for the Left. Thanks...but no thanks.
2. A map proves depravity of Two State Final Solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.07.13)
It takes nothing but a map to prove the utter depravity of the evil Two State Final Solution. A child capable of reading a map quickly finds that the Two State Final Solution would trim Israel's waist to just 9 miles (15 minute tank ride) and leave Israel absolutely defenseless. It is way past time for Israel to absolutely reject this abomination in no uncertain terms. This tiny land is ours. As for Meretz: virtually nobody wants it.
3. She is right
Keren IL-BR ,   Israel   (02.07.13)
The Saudi Plan is an strategy backed by the Arabs. There is no reason why Israel should not adopt it. It is the gateway of Israel to the region, with tourists bringing money, respecting us here by force of peace and not weapons. Go for it.
4. Is religion Israel s Cindarela ?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.07.13)
5. Gal-On
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (02.07.13)
she should move to saudi and enjoy their initiative directly.
6. Please go away!!!
Rachel ,   US   (02.07.13)
7. When the Reds meet Mohammed
Tom W ,   USA   (02.07.13)
Bolshevik Jews always supported Arab nationalism and Islam. During '67 war Communist Jews openly embraced Brezhnev's pro-Arab policy and the (one sided) love affair is still going on. It's repulsive to see that many Israeli communists are rooting for the most reactionary, fanatical and oppressive regime which is the Saudi monarchy. Nothing humanly valuable is emanating from the Kingdom of Hate: may be this is what attracts the left.
8. Tell the Saudis to adopt...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (02.07.13)
...democracy, human rights and allowing women to go outdoors and then maybe...
9. Zehava
Uzziel   (02.07.13)
You should be adopted by this very famous saudi cleric who just raped, murdered and burned his 5 years old daughter so you understand what the saudis are and what they want from Israel.
10. Leftist Crap
Brod ,   USA   (02.08.13)
The media should stop reporting this Lefitst crap that emanates from Israel's enemy.
11. Saudis, please "adopt" Meretz
Alex   (02.08.13)
They'll serve you well as kneeling puppets.
12. hate the Left but respect their integrity
Avramele   (02.08.13)
Gal On takes a principled stand and promises she will not put party.politics before the national interest nor would she compromise her beliefs for a car and a ministry. Disagree with her if you must but at least admit that there is something honest and refreshing here. Even Bibi seems to recognize a decent person when he sees one. She along with the likes of Dan Meridor, Benny Begin and yes a couple of Hadash Mk'srepresent the best of Israeli public service.
13. Meretz should be a party banned by Israeli law.Totchka!
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.08.13)
14. Saudi Inititiative is a Non-Starter
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (02.08.13)
When the Arabs present a workable peace plan, I will be the first to embrace it. Such a plan would have to involve Jordan as part of the plan and acknowledge that Jordan was part of the original mandate and the land given to the Arabs is part of Palestine. The plan would need to acknowledge that Israel is a Jewish state, Jerusalem is Israel's capital and that the Arab residents of Israel are part of Jordan-Palestine and that all the land West of the Jordan to the river is Israel. The plan would have to guarantee security from terrorism and give Israel the right to defend itself by all means necessary. The plan would have to compensate the Jewish people from all lands taken from them from Arab nations and state that no Arabs have right to return to the West Bank and must return to the East Bank. In return all of the Arabs living in Israel will receive permanent residency, civil autonomy and free to move and work freely in Israel as long as there is no terrorism and rioting. This will make a lasting peace and anything less is just a pretense to perpetual conflict.
15. #12. Nothing principled about Gal On's moronic stand.d
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.08.13)
There is nothing principled about Gal On's moronic stand. Tens of thousands of Israelis have been maimed and murdered in pursuit of her idiotic vision of Israel with a 9 mile waist. In fact, politicians like Gal On should be charged with criminal negligence and being an accessory to the maiming and murders of thousands of Israeli civilians.
16. Look here
M ,   the gulf states   (02.08.13)
we don't hate you half as much as you think we do and many of us don't like the palestinians as much. I don't think there will ever be true peace between israel and the arab world but that doesn't mean we can't be associates.
17. The peace process, equal share of the burden and Israel's so
obammers coming   (02.08.13)
this is all really one issue divided by one man.... when theres real peace there will be no great threats to prosperity apart from greed of course/
