Marcel ,   San Jose, Costa Rica   (02.10.13)
Who in Israel truly listens to this rabbi who has absolutely non business dealing in politics? I hope Shas gets pushed out of the next coalition and Yesh Atid gets to secularize much of the nonsensical religious influence in the public space.
3. Yar Lapid don't hate Yeshivot
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.10.13)
He dislikes those who do not serve the State , who do not share the burden of our security , who do not contribute to the country and who only take , take and take . Abroad most of the charedim work and can study Torah . Why not here ?

9. #3 be fair
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (02.10.13)
Lapid may be right about some things, but you really think that Lapid dislikes those who do not share the burden of our security? You mean people like Lapid who's father got them army service as a journalist in Bamahane magazine?

Sane or not, he should mind his own business and stay out of politics.
12. This guy is supposed to be a Rabbi

...and behave like a rabbi, not like a retarded schoolboy.
13. I dislike Rav Ovadiya...
Daniel ,   na   (02.10.13)
...and I absolutely hate it when I have to agree with him. Lapidor is a scoundrel. Not to mention that while advocating equal share of the burden, he still owes his - working for his dad's magazine does not qualify for an equal share of the military service any more than study in a kollel.

And what else will you invent about the Lapid family? You better change your sign in to Iran Iranian, or something like that. Once in a while you write reasonably, but now you cannot swallow that Centrists have beaten the right wing nonsense parties.
18. Is this ishai's "spiritual" father ??

19. How will Judaism survive these rabbis?
Stuart MIchael ,   Carversville, PA USA   (02.10.13)
The man is a clown, as are his colleagues. They are the ones who make religion seem like magic tricks and snake oil.
20. #10 - 93 years old
Joshua ,   USA   (02.10.13)
That shmuck was never sane. He was born a Moron - that is why he is followed by so many Idiots!
21. Respect for the old man, hake ba'hutza.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.10.13)
Yes, he is allowed to have mind slips at his old age, and language slips in Hebrew. But can he be allowed to violate the Tora and disrespect the future Prime Minister of Israel?

23. Kol Hacavod to Rabbi Ovadia
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (02.11.13)
What the Rabbi said about Lapid, is very valid... Since the first time I saw his face on TV, I never saw him serious for a second..But that is not the problem..The more I see his behaviour, his empty talk and love of the attention he gets, the more it confirms my fear &concern about the next 5 years of this light minded, shallow person, leading Israel and the Jewish Nation...
24. to 19
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (02.11.13)
Sorry Stuart, but I just could not resist the urge to call you an idiot...And please take it as a compliment... Your post implies your hatred and intolerence towards Our religion, traditions and history... But "thank you very much" for your concern for our survival...
25. #23,24 Jennie, Who would want surviving like you do?
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.11.13)
You have no right to call anyone an idiot. Look in the mirror and see one. The rav you are supporting is also one. Have you heard anything worth of a minimal thought throughout his entire life? He is spilling venom wherever he goes. What right does he have to criticize a politician who just commanded a large vote in democratic elections? Oh, I forgot, you and yours have no respect for democratic elections. There is no democracy under a veil in Mea Shaarim.

SteveR ,   Dallas USA   (02.11.13)
First he is a spiritual leader to very few, certainly fewer than follow the crooked television evangelicals or pedophiliac priests in the US. There are twisted people in every religion - he is relatively mild. Secondly, Israel expects to get very far indeed. Compare Israel to the neighbors. Agriculture, high tech, medicine, higher growth rates than Europe, better unemployment, a more stable demographic growth structure. Israel is succeeding by any measure. And defense? The neighbors of Israel seem to be eating each other alive. Israel just has to sit back and watch

Jennie ,   Israel/US   (02.13.13)
For starters, I couldn't give a hoot about your opinions...But must leave Rabbis out of your vicious lies and gove them the respect, you would give a priest...And could you mention any of the "venom", Rabbi Ovadia Yoseff has "spilled" ? If you can't, I suggest you find another object for your lies, Michael...FYI, I do feel tremendous pride and responsibility for Israel, the only Democacy in the ME..The concern about Lapid is very valid...He is a "far cry" to any deputy of Bibi and it remains to be seen, what actions will come off his talk...
28. to 26
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (02.13.13)
How do you know, how many followers Rabbi Ovadia Yosef has ? I know, that Rabbi Ovadia, is a very highly learned & esteemed & has a large following for many decades.. I am also sure, that the word "scoundrel" got lost in translation...But a lot of Israelis, myself among them, are very concerned about the state of security and economy, having this happy, "go merry" unexperienced person, wanting to lead Israel...
29. why do they wear this helmet?
former oleh chadash ,   South America   (02.13.13)
I'm not sefaradi, is it like the chassidic streimel for them? Just curious.

I love ultra orthodox rabbis like our dear Rav Yossef ; all this is just funny, Jewish humor. Not serious.
