1. The same question, but not willing to accept the answer
tiki ,   belgium   (02.13.13)
The 'Palestinians' have already made it very clear what they mean by permanent borders. Just look at their charters, their flag (no Israel), listen to their leaders, read their papers & educational programs.
2. No more Oslos. No more leftist lunacy. End it NOW!
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.13.13)
Oslo "peace talks" alone cost Israel thousands of maimed and murdered civilians. In total, tens of thousands of Israelis have been maimed and murdered due to "peace talks with Palestinians". Even worse, these talks are intended to steal Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria from Israel. The intention is to trim Israel's waist to 9 miles and render Israel defenseless. Let every patriotic Israeli demand an IMMEDIATE end to the sick, phony "peace process with Palestinians". No more Oslos. No more leftist lunacy!
3. Shimon Shiffer: Shades of Ariel Sharon
Steve Klein   (02.13.13)
Shiffer wrote: "The next Israeli government must do something that previous governments avoided doing, and that is to decide on the permanent borders it seeks within the framework of an agreement with the Palestinians." There will be no agreement with the Palestinians. Shiffer's retreat will be a unilateral one like Sharon's. In other words Mr. Shiffer you are proposing a recipe for withdrawal, retreat, the uprooting of "some" Jewish communities; defeat. This is what Ariel Sharon gave us in Gaza; thousands of rockets, kidnappings and attempted kidnappings, terror, the election of Hamas jihadists. This is what you will give us in Judea and Samaria; retreat, expulsion, rockets and worse.
4. How about NO new Arab State...
(02.13.13)
That is innovative thinking...
5. on possible peace
sherry lee mull ,   blandon,pa,usa   (02.13.13)
Please do not let Jerusalem go, it is the Capitol of ISRAEL, many of us here in the states, believe. Dividing any thing in This Land, God's heart. This did not change a thing, before&wil not in the future. They wil not stop here, its always something in the name of peace,& to whom? I wil be praying. Please dont make the same mistake. Palastinians enjoy working under Jewish state,it is the Palastanion Gov,that has issues,&their ppl, had no jobs under them. The ppl r able 2take care of their families, under ISRAEL, not so under Pal,Gov. Lord help them, let the Pal,gov go over somewhere else,2get their land. &leave ISRAEL alone...gbu
6. 30 years?
Volvi   (02.13.13)
You say you have been following the piss-process for 30 yrs. Seems to me you still have not learned much with your proposal. Stay out of it, you obviously cant see the forest for the trees.
7. New starting point, UNSC '67 borders, to " fill in the gaps"
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.13.13)
8. Well said Shimon Shiffer
Mike the Pal ,   Sydney, Australia   (02.13.13)
I rarely agree with the content of your articles, but this one has hit the mark. The Palestinians will never recognise Israel as a jewish state because that risks the rights of Israeli Palestinians who are already experiencing discrimination in their own country. Neither would Israel ever add a Country called Palestine in the Israeli text books just because 138 countries recognise their state. So let's each focus on their own issues. The Palestinians have already announced what the end looks like for them. A Palestinian State on the 1967 borders (plus or minus land swaps). Jerusalem to be either shared, divided or confederated . Total sovereignty All Palestinian prisoners released. International presence and guarantees for Israel security. Fair resolution of the refugee problem. This is also backed by the Arab initiative of 2000.
9. I have a better idea
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.13.13)
No more negotiations, no more new agreements. Instead we need to more in a new direction. Inform Odumba and Abbas that until the Arabs fulfill ALL of their previous oblitgations that we will not negotiate anything, no more gestures, no more demands. Since the Arabs have yet to fulfill any of their obligations they can have a lot of choices as to where to begin.
10. How does one negotiate with non-negotiaters
Arnold ,   Canada   (02.13.13)
There will be no final negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians the same way there will be no final negotiations between Fatah and Hamas. Just look at the Arab Spring. Nothing is negotiated. It all comes down to violence to get their way.
11. No more disengagements!!!!
Rachel ,   US   (02.13.13)
12. No proposition during the 21st century
Nora Tel Aviv   (02.13.13)
It has become clear that all those leaders alive, in both sides of the Israelo-Palestiian conflct, will never agree to agree. Let the time pass, until new generations will be led by new leaders agreeing to agree.
13. Same Old Oslo Bullsh...
Philippe ,   Ramla   (02.13.13)
As usual , same old leftist rant; So if you are tired of your own team, why don't you move to the other side and join the opposing team ?
14. "how they see the conflict coming to a close".
A ,   Belgium   (02.13.13)
Its obvious how the "palestinians" would like to see the conflict ended, just look on any map of how and where they envision their fictional state. And bringing in America to mediate between the two sides has been tried and failed: Carter and Clinton as two main examples. Basically, the author himself is trying to sell the same "merchandise" that he is so against. What is indeed true, is that the ambiguity on the Israeli side must end, clear borders must be declared that guarantee Israels safety (if that is possible while being surrounded by hostile arab states), and if the UN doesn't like it, too bad.
15. #1 Israelis made it clear too
(02.13.13)
Just look at their settlements and the governing party. Still, I hope the sane will outnumber idiots on both sides one day.
16. Peace talks go nowhere because Pal goal is no Jewish Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (02.13.13)
What is important for Jews is that Palestinians stop trying to overthrow the Jewish majority in Israel. The Palestinians are trying to do this by force or right of return. So, Israel must settle the security and refugee issues if there are to be successful talks. Otherwise, the personalities and venues in peace talks will change again and again but nothing but frustration will result.
17. # 16, going nowhere because Israel wants
Edithann ,   USA   (02.14.13)
all of Palestine.. and what's left of theirr homes, crops and lands... Israel want's it all...and will do everything deceitefully possible to get it, even if it take 500 years, by then the world will have gotten used to it...they hope! How could anyone be so naive to think Israel's Zionist aim of having it all will ever change...These are just 'hic-cups' on the road to having it all so they think! TATA
18. So what happens when this does work
Bear Kelin ,   USA   (02.14.13)
The Palestinians want to start with Jerusalem, all the west bank including settlement blocks. Later they want the rest of Israel even though the writer of this article can obviously not grasp that reality so his formula is just another idea that will not last past this article so why am I bothering to comment?
19. Who will listen to it?
john ,   cardiff   (02.14.13)
PM of Israel or President of Palestine! It will go on deaf ear as usual. At least, you tried.
20. #17So,you+Palestinians will accept a Jewish majority Israel?
Sam ,   Canada   (02.14.13)
So, you and the majority of Palestinians will accept a Jewish majority Israel if Palestinians get a Palestinian majority Palestine (with details to be worked out)? Tell Abbas and Hamas to say that publicly in English and in Arabic.
21. What about the Palestinian victims also??!! no mention of th
NUNU ,   Jerusalem   (02.14.13)
ousands of palestinian victims as well as thousands of Israeli victims, loved the article.... Palestinians are clearer than ever a democratic disarmed palestinian state on 67 borders....... what is Israel plan?
22. Border negotiations are NOT the "end". Talk Temple Mount.
Jake ,   USA   (02.14.13)
The Al-Aqsa mosque can stay where it is, and even be restored and made more beautiful. In exchange, the Dome of the Rock must be relocated from Judaism's holiest site, and the Third Temple will be rebuilt in its place.
23. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.14.13)
Sorry. There are consequences to waging wars of aggression, as the Arabs have done on six occasions. Israel has traded land for promises of peace before; it hasn't worked. It isn't going to work now.
24. # 23...Israel never traded any land for peace!
Edithann ,   USA   (02.14.13)
That's the lie and mantra they repeat but in reality it never happened..Israel never left GAZA and wont leave the West Bank Constant intrusive night raids and arrests prove Israel never left GAZA nor the WB... .It''s all BS,. One only has to read the news to realize how much of Israel is built on lies with arms to enforce the lies.. TATA. .. TATA
25. Maximum Balance
Zechariah   (02.14.13)
The Maximum Balance is Jewish Security control of the Jordan Valley the Palestinians living in Megacities Ramallah Jenin and Nablus and a Land Swap. Review after Iranian and nuclear Proliferation threat Clearer.
26. #24 too stupid for words
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.15.13)
What a moronic racist. Israel left every single millimeter of the Sinai, Jordanian claims and yes Gaza. There is not a single person left - but only according to total morons are we still there
27. So who will protect the Palestinians from Israel?
Edithann ,   USA   (02.16.13)
Israel intrudes into all aspects of Palestinian life..including their calorie intake... Again, it's only morons who ask such questions, because only Israeli's know the answers... Too funny, this is very funny...especailly that Israeil's still uphold the Zionist line of 'all of Palestinians..without Palestinians'... Good luck if you can get it, but you wont and never will... TATA TATA
28. # 26 What's wrong with 'racism'...Israeli's are models
Edithann ,   USA   (02.16.13)
of super racism and all of Israel is built on racism......So why should mine be questioned? That's the trouble with Jewish racism...'Goy and non Jew hatred' is the bedrock of all racism.. It started with whoever wrote the Torah/Talmud...and it certainly wasn't Hashem...... TATA
29. begin from the end
harvey gefen ,   toronto can.   (02.18.13)
beginning from the end requires the palestinians renouncing the "rt. of return"to israel.they will not do so because its end goal is the same as it always was_the elimination of israel.the stategic goal of palestinians is the same.the plo wants to take israel over piece by piece while hamas want to use military means .
