31. So we have 21% Arabs? Big deal
Ilan   (02.17.13)
The PA has no independence for it's agencies. As Abbas and the other PLO want to show increased numbers their bureau of statistics will simply print the desired results.
32. The world has decided that
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (02.17.13)
Israel is an apartheid state. Then why to pay financial contribution for arab families for raising children ? If once Israel is an apartheid state.
33. Don't worry
Paul ,   France   (02.17.13)
to #12 You expect israel to disappear as a Jewish country. You belong to the antizionist group. But transfer of (antizionist) arabs into Jordan or Gaza strip is a solution to the demographic problem.
34. Netanyahu - Recognize Status Quo
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (02.17.13)
Netanyahu' plan is to call the status quo two states. No wonder why Abbas isn't moved by the idea. Neither Jordan nor the Palestinians will move or accept transfer peaceably. Just ain't gonna happen. Settlements and the Greater Israel project created the current box along with unwillingness to see state building. Fantasy won't solve that. Canadians should remember "54-40 or Fight!" Manifest Destiny included citizenship for the conquered and their descendents.
35. The left had changed strategy
Eric ,   Oslo   (02.17.13)
Since Israeli no longer interested or believe in peace agreement the left changed strategy "we just want to save the right from themselves" "we are concerened about the demographic Jewish future of Israel" Yeah right! That is why the same people put pressure on Israeli government to grant 60000 Sudanians with Israeli passports... so much for demographic concerns The guy did not mention that the sattelment are almost totaly empty from humans (infact 60% of Jedeah and Semmeria is completely empty... Areas C D and E... We don't want A and B) Another thing he "forgot" to mention is that as soon as Israel leaves the WB Hamas is going to take over (like in Gaza) then we have to deal with another front of rockets ...only this time its aimed on a dens populated area(2 million)... With chemical factories, air port, etc, One rockethits the right place is enough
36. Demographic Statistics are Lies
Sheba Leah ,   Ashdod Israel   (02.17.13)
Don't believe the "Palestinian Authority" and their statistics. The more people that they say they have the more money the world are giving them. Cut the figures in half, and maybe in half again, Ashrawi, with all of her big words knows how to lie. We Jews will make certain that we are a majority. Today Israelis are returning from all four corners of the earth as are Jews from everywhere. The "Palestinian cause" is a lost one.
37. # 6 indeed, yet you're incorrect regarding..
Yochanan ,   Yerushalayim   (02.17.13)
...the Jewish birth rate in the West Bank. Baruch HaShem, the Jewish birth rate is higher than that of the Arabs in the West Bank, 5.18 versus 3.12 (!!) Be'ezrat HaShem, we'll only grow in numbers, in our relationship w/ HaShem and ALL of our dear fellow Jews, AMEN!
38. # 37 Yochanan, Yerushalayim
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.17.13)
G-d didn't choose us for being the largest of peoples he chose us for being the smallest. ( at least one reason. ) Perhaps to prove the point that nothing is impossible for those who love G-d and are called according to HIs purpose? The muslims, breeders or not can never win this battle. Our G-d is with us, always.
39. If concerned about demographics, subsidies not the answer
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.17.13)
While the author is correct about the ridiculous cost of the F-35 fighters, the notion that the money would be better spent on subsidizing families is absurd. Exactly who would take advantage of this program? Israel's haredim and Arabs. It would be a wonderful gift to Israel's Bedouin, many of whose men have multiple wives and large families. And with a growing population one only invites more land grabs. That's insane. Even were the land divided based on a "demographic imperative", the notion that would resolve the matter is naive. The economic disparity between the two states will only be exacerbated with development of Israel's gas and oil resources. (Virtually all the oil shale lies within the 1967 lines.) That will lead to ongoing infiltration as the Arabs of "Palestine" look for jobs in Israel, not to mention more calls for "family unification" (which curiously only goes one way). As to the settlements issue, most of the growth has been *within* settlements. Development of E1 will prevent Maalei Adumim from suffering the fate of Mount Scopus - Israeli territory separated from Israel proper within hostile territory - until reunited in 1967. And given Israel's failure to integrate those evacuated from Gaza after almost eight years, wholesale evacuation from places like Ariel is well nigh inconceivable.
40. #33 - Just try "transfer" and see how fast
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (02.18.13)
the US runs away from Israel and the rest of the world whacks Israel hard economically and politically. And that is the "best case" scenario. The worst case scenario is massive war with the US watching from the sidelines, giving zero help. And do not count on the IDf winning this time. There is a very high probability that the IDF would lose, just like the US has lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then what do you think will happen? Realistically "transfer" is NOT an option, so you need to drastically re-think your future.
41. Still worried
(02.18.13)
I am religious (knitted kippa) and I and almost all of my friends and neighbors have large families, B"H. The problem is the secular Jews. Many of the young adults don't get married and even if they do, they usually have very small families. For this reason, the Arabs have a very large percent of children under the age of 15, and this is definitely sometime to worry about.
42. You can't fight G-d
Fred ,   Israel   (02.19.13)
G-d swore that all the land of Israel will go to the Jews . It is really that simple.
43. US and native land - for #20 &21
elke ,   USA   (02.19.13)
It may be true that America expanded into native lands in the 1700s and 1800s (altho we bought large tracts like the Louisiana purchase). Standards of civilized behavior were quite different then. In the 1960s, when Israel was displacing Arab natives and demolishing their villages, we had a more enlightened view. In our new territory of Alaska, we settled $1 billion and 40 million acres on the native dwellers. Compare THAT to modern Israel, sticking to the same time frame. Only in Israel are religious tracts cited as if they were modern land deeds.
