Objecting would be like telling the US it could not have a base in Hawaii. Iran borders the Gulf of Oman. Iran can build on their own coast.

No not native ships just fibreglass aircraft carriers to transport their fibreglass stealth jets that are to small for a pilot to sit in photo shopped flying across the Atlantic. They are though planning to build a nuclear submarine.
5. A STRATEGIC DECISION
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (02.17.13)
On the part of Iran.As at now its naval force is small enough but why not plan for the future when the blue water naval force is expanded? Obviously, every time Iran plans something,we shall have the pleasure of reading the news from known media. Some more to come?

If Iran only wants a navy to defend its territorial waters as they claim why would they need a blue water navy? Why do they need foreign naval bases? Seems to me Iran is making plans to try become a major power in the world ( including developing nukes ) they are already working on development of intercontinental balistic missiles under the cover of a space program.
7. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO..........................#6
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (02.20.13)
Think whatever you need to think. However, why would Iran not strengthen itself irrespective.Every country in the world statrted at some point, haven't they?
8. The real Iranian threat
Get Real ,   UK   (02.20.13)
All its announcements on its military forces and assets from submarines,to ships to stealth fighters are just a distraction put out by the Iranian regime whilst it proceeds to go nuclear and develops IBMs.
