1. Pity the Egyptians had not destroyed

the tunnels some time ago instead of ignoring the weapons and terror personnel passing through them then into Gaza. But then Egypt was not threatened. Perhaps this action will stiffle Gaza's new export industry before it has really got going.
2. Tunnels flooded?

All of them? When did this happen? Why haven't I heard about it before?
3. Inaccurate - tunnels not a lifeline for Gaza
William ,   Israel   (02.19.13)
It's a Cash Cow for Hamas. The "lifeline" items for Gaza come through the official border crossings, from food, to petrol, to medical supplies. The tunnels bring in the 30% of goods which are not necessary and luxuries - like European appliances, luxury cars, and illegal materials like smuggled cash, weapons and explosives, and terrorists. Petrol is snuck through the tunnels ONLY to avoid customs tax paid to the PA, so Hamas can ad their heavy taxation to the final price. Without the tunnels, all that will happen is rich Gazans won't drive new high-priced cars, Hamas won't get the latest rockets to kill civilians with, and the Gaza Zoo won't get some new animals. Hardly a "life or death" situation.
4. Notice the important words in the Egyptian Statement
William ,   Israel   (02.19.13)
"Egypt will not tolerate the two-way smuggling of weapons..." Whoa..."two-way smuggling"....in other words, they're prepared to tolerate the "one-way smuggling" of weapons into Gaza to target Israel, both in violation to the cease-fire agreement which Egypt brokered and intl law, as long as Egypt isn't affected. Nothing innocent about the message or their actions. Morsi is fully prepared to support Hamas as long as it doesn't violate his peace deal with Israel and the influx of cash from the US.
