1. somehow disturbing
peter ,   tel aviv   (02.19.13)
on one hand all the religious parties are going mental over the" threat" of military or national service for the yeshiva students on the other hand some of them still seem to be capable of running and holding public offices. So what is it going to be ? A big no no to the state and country on serving ( apart from praying for the messiah to come lol) or yes serving also in the army where needed or national service on the same terms as everybody else ( not enhanced monthly earnings or stipends). Unless you guys make your mind up I don't see a right for any of you serving in public office ( especially when you take the law into your own hands and abuse the taxpayers money on Iran style modesty squads)
2. "modesty terrorists"

4. Women, it's time to defend yourselves.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.19.13)
You know how to fight back if a rapist attacks you, do you not? Use the same skills when spat upon, or the "modesty" punks approach you, or if they tell you where to sit in a bus. Get serious with them, women, fight back. Carry Mace bottles and spray them in their eyes. The police are too busy and respond too slowly. Once you will be defending yourselves bravely their attacks will cease.
5. interesting timing

odd how these arrests seem to have been made while the "religious" parties are still negotiating with the governing coalition, thus depriving the hareidi community of their usual "diplomatic immunity". it seems that politicians, like diapers, need regular changing, and for much the same reason....
6. Mayor Meir Rubinstein is not fit to hold public office
Haim ,   TA   (02.19.13)
He should be fired immediatly and then charged with a criminal offence. The man delibratly protected these criminals and prevented justice being served.
7. Maybe they should rename Beitar Illit to Beitar Tehran?
Haim ,   TA   (02.19.13)
As the two cities have a lot in common.
8. This is what Haredim will do with power
Dan   (02.19.13)
Like all fundamentalist groups they are fascists at heart. This is who Bibi has been working for.

These people need constant adult supervision. They are a harm to themselves and to others. They're stealing my religion.

11. @Haim You're overreaching a bit here
Jrebecca ,   modiin   (02.19.13)
The mayor has been questioned, not charged or found guilty. Well not by anyone of authority, and your constant anti-religious rants do not count as authority.
