32. Here you go again ,...
split ,   US   (02.20.13)
Wow, so many organisations with their offices in every boonie town loaded with agents of foreign interest. Is there anyone (including you Shoula) working and earn their living the old fashioned way or they're out there to demonise US vet and hero and support themselves by schnorring? ,...
33. Usual and expected Frightwing claptrap from Shoula
miki ,   tampa   (02.20.13)
34. 18/19/28 Avi - Your Own Antisemitism
(02.20.13)
Avi, your own antisemitic intolerance for Jews with a different political perspective is showing. Sign up for the Army or get two or three of yours in Afghanistan or Some other place halfway around the world based on a lie, then you might have some room to talk. Have you even ever met somebody who served in Iraq or Afghanistan or Vietnam? For sure you haven't paid a dime in taxes for Iraq or Afghanistan. Nobody has yet.
35. If not now...
allan ,   canada   (02.20.13)
A very wise Rabbi Hillel, centuries ago, said " “If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, then what am I? And if not now, when?” Excellent article.
36. In General; USA has become increasingly Anti-Semitc.
Beni B ,   Baltimore   (02.20.13)
The antisemites are rearing their ugly heads more openly. It is not just Europe alone. Its not the Golden Medina as the lefties would think. We are living in insane times. Leftist Liberals with their mental disorders,etc.. -- May the the rightious gentiles be wise enough to support Israel. As he who blesses Israel will be blessed. He who curses Israel will be cursed.
37. To no.23
Leon ,   College Station Tx.   (02.20.13)
Another example of that ignorant and embarrassing rhetoric so common to Israelis that a persons intelligence or the quality of their argument is dependent oh their geographic location Shoula is absolutely correct whether she lives in Israel or Antarctica. This person almost certainly knows nothing about the author's reasons for being outside of Israel or even if it is just temporary. The security of Israel is an issue for Jews everywhere. Not every Jew can live in Israel The arrogant and foolish idea that only people who live in Israel want peace or should have an opinion on how to achieve it is ludicrous
38. # 6 gratchke.Hagel will appoint you
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (02.20.13)
Ambasador to Israel,start packing.
39. Shoula we voted for Obama-YOU are frightened...
miki ,   tampa   (02.21.13)
frightened by your own attempts to spread rumor and slander, to create a noon-issue of no importance. Hagel is not Ehud Barak is not King Bibi he is an American candidate for the American position of Secretary of Defense in America. Anyone who was Senator from Nebraska for cannot be a nonconforming Conservative, he is the best man for the job-get over it and stop wringing your hands.
40. Godwin alert: Hagel = Hitler
Giora Me'ir ,   USA   (02.21.13)
It is right-wing Israeli policy that is bad for Jews, not Hagel.
41. Hagel's appointment doesn't matter
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (02.22.13)
The root cause of terrorism is the Islamic doctrine of death to infidels, non-believers, Jews, etc. (hereinafter "infidels") . Today's world terrorism originated when the two major branches of Islam, the Sunnis and the Shiites, were formed. Each considered the other to be infidels, and accordingly, began killing each other. That has continued for centuries, and does to this day, in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Mali, Libya, Algeria, Iraq and Syria, to name a few affected countries. Turkey has waged a genocide of the Kurds for years. Iran is developing intercontinental missiles and nuclear weapons to fulfill its Islamic goals, Despite Obama's claim to have decimated terrorism, and to have it on the run, it is growing and spreading. Europe lies in its path, and won't stop it. Population growth forecasts indicate that Europe faces Muslim majorities within 20 years. Europe quavers with fear, and so, Europe attempts to placate the Muslim World with criticism of Israel. The USA won't stop it. Obama fantasizes that "Islam is the religion of love" and that terrorism is "the actions of a tiny minority". Fantasizing won't stop it. Certainly, the UN, which has become the mouthpiece of its many Muslim country members, won't stop it. The UN has little, if anything, to say about the widespread killing in the name of Islam. What, then, might? Europe, the USA, the UN, China, Russia, have never, individually or collectively, asked, or even suggested, that the Muslim World renounce the Islamic call for death to infidels. If Israel was to make such a request, they would all condemn Israel for having done so. But, if terrorism is to be ended, someone must step up. Recent polls show that more than 70% of American Jews support Obama. Jewish Democrats seem to tend to regard being Democrat as their religion. It would be interesting to see the results of a poll of American Jewish Democrats, asking if they would support a demand that the Muslim World renounce the Islamic call for death to infidels. No American President has ever addressed the matter. Obama won’t, and cabinet members have to follow the President’s policies, whether they want to or not. And so, it is somewhat of a fruitless effort to attempt to block Hagel’s appointment, because it won’t change anything
42. To # 20
Stan ,   Israel   (02.22.13)
This woman's problem is that she was born into a family of Right Wing extremists, and hasn't the common sense to move with the times.
43. Blind worship
Truthseeker ,   USA   (02.22.13)
Horing writes: "If only five of the 11 senators will stop their blind worship of President Obama and decide to abstain, the nomination will be defeated." I would say that it is time that the US government stop its blind worship of Israel. Hagel has not been wrong in anything that he said. Many Israelis share the same feelings. Israel is becoming an apartheid state, the settlements are illegal and the Lobby does intimidate members of Congress. For people such as Horing to say that what Hagel said is "anti-semitic" is just another case of throwing that epithet against anyone who dares to criticize the Jewish state. Like the boy who cried wolf too many times no one will listen when real anti-semitism rears its ugly head.
