it is absolutely frightening and devastating that obama has persisted in pushing the nomination of this incompetent, ignorant man who is also extremely weak on national security. his hostility to israel and open antisemitism are equally disturbing. however, he is just expressing openly obama's views.

the democratic senators are loyal to obama and the democratic party, in that order. do not expect the jewish congressional leadership to have the least bit of concern for israel. they might fight a tad for weapons sales, but not much. notice that they have given carte blanche to obama on iran despite near unanimous resolutions on iran sanctions. it is all hot air. they are the most liberal members of congress, and they never had it so good.

It's not a matter of Obama imposing his will on Israel. It is a matter of him selecting a defense secretary who will operate in the U.S. national interest, not the interest of a foreign country. The current Israeli government is operating to the detriment of the U.S. national interest by continuing its illegal colonization of East Jerusalem and the West Bank, despite U.S. requests to refrain.

East Jerusalem and the West Bank belong to Israel. It's none of our business to be telling Israel what to do with it's own land.

What rational person thinks that Hagel is the best the US has. If this is true, we are in real trouble. Not only are his views dangerous for the US but he obviously lied under oath to the Senate committee. It is impossible for any one not to remember or not to be explain numerous things he has been saying for the last several years. This man should be put on trial for perjury. Ido not see how he can do the job he will get when evreyone (including our adversaries) knows that he has very little support at home.
