Just for the record, not in a condemning way - the bible says that when a man lies with a man its sin before a Holy God. When a man has sex with a child, it is even worse, its not just a case of not breaking his vows of celibacy, it is a case of scarring and woulding an innocent child for life, unless God heals that child of it. It is a trauma to a child to be molested, and can ruin that person's life that was sinned against. All of these things are sin to a Holy God, that is why we need an atonement. No one can keep God's measure of Holiness. He provides our atonement through His own Son.

The Catholics will do what the Catholics do pray to Mary and worship idols. But all of us at one point or another worship idols. Only through repentance can we free ourselves of this sin.

Until the Catholic Church sheds the doctrine of celibacy for its clergy, only sexual miscreants will be attracted the the cloth. Celibacy is contrary to the gift God gave to humans which allows Love to be manifested physiologically thus supporting the emotional aspect of Love. Celibacy is not good for priests. They serve families so let priests also be family men. If men or women want to be celibates and serve God it is well , but then they must learn to aim for higher holiness not to please men, but God.

You are so right. I have neighbors who are a homosexual couple, who have been together for twenty-two years. Each is a highly-regarded professional, very successful and prominent in their respective fields. Some years ago, they decided to adopt a child. They went to Russia, because it remains quite difficult for a homosexual couple to adopt a child in the United States. They took an unwanted child, born with a serious facial deformity, from a Russian orphanage. The child they brought back to the United States had the requisite surgery (I'm proud to report that it was performed by my husband), and there is only a tiny scar to show for it that no one even notices. They are responsible and loving parents. Their adopted child is a very well adjusted child who has a life that would not have been possible in Russia. They are good and caring neighbors -- who visited me every day following my cancer surgery. I could not ask for better neighbors or better friends. They are also consenting adults. I am loathe to look into the bedrooms of consenting adults. If you want perversion -- look elsewhere. Sadly, there is no shortage of abused children in the United States -- and most of that abuse is heterosexual in nature (surprise, surprise!). People should not be judged based on their sexual preference. As long as it involves adults and mutual consent, it is no one else's business.
