I don't think they realize that if the United States takes umbrage, China won't be there to save them. China needs the United States far more than they need -- or want! -- North Korea. "Miserable destruction?" Really? It's not going to be the United States that disappears in a mushroom cloud. Can't say the same for the idiots in Pyongyang, though.

No, I think that Obama's private agenda does not extend to the Korean peninsula. He'll galvanize himself -- see, though? This is why Hagel is such a monumentally poor choice for Secretary of Defense. If Obama drags his feet on North Korea because of its ties to Iran, he'll have to deal with an extremely angry American electorate and an unhappy House of Representatives that can impeach him.
