The only reason settlements are a problem is that the Palestinians refuse to have Jews in their future  state. The Arabs should be courting the settlers, not demonizing them.  Jews have every right to live on that land, and a "peace deal" is not an excuse to deny Jews their rights. The main "obstacle " to peace in 1967 was the Arab armies attempts to defeat Israel. However, Israel beat the Arab armies and by beating these Arab armies, Israel cynically became the biggest "obstacle" to peace. Israel again became the "biggest obstacle" to peace in 1973 by defeating the armies of Egypt and Syria..... which had attacked Israel. Everytime Israel wins, many people in the World get annoyed and criticise Israel because of Israel's survival and triumph in battle. These days, Israel building houses becomes the greatest " obstacle " to peace. The EU is turned upside down and inside out because of Israel's building of homes. The Arabs, Syrians, Hezbollah firing rockets into Israel, Egypt , Iraq, Afghanistan, the Moslem Brotherhood, Iran's nuclear efforts, Hamas firing rockets from Gaza into Israel are "not obstacles " to peace ...... according to the logic of the EU and UN...... go figure !

The time is long overdue to put an end to destructive E.U. meddling once and for all. The E.U., which caused both World Wars, and most of the world's problems, has no business presuming to tell Israel what to do. Have the courage to tell the E.U. to butt out.
