31. Rachel # 21
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.03.13)
The buses outside of Sha'ar Shchem are Arab bus lines and companies from before 1967. I lived in the East Jerusalem back in those days. The buses are not segregated per se but travel to Arab populated areas only as they always have. Anyone traveling to those areas can - and do - use them. Yes, and men and women do separate themselves as do the Haridim - and for the same reasons.
32. anyway
rm ,   Amsterdam NL   (03.03.13)
If the busses are overly full as some claim...why not schedule more busses to serve all? That would seem a simple solution. But than...nothing is ever simple when it comes to this increasingly murky conflict is it?
33. The road to hell is paved with a lot of good intentions
Big mistake   (03.03.13)
34. Ban move for Israel's image worldwide
An Israeli who cares   (03.03.13)
Some of us work very hard to help Israel's image abroad, as we stand opposed to those who call Israel an Apartheid state. We really do our best, and it is a shame that the state of Israel won't help itself against this horrible image. How would we reply now? Help us help Israel instead of making mistakes like this...
35. Sarah 7 , and David # 2
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.03.13)
Will you do the jobs they are doing today ?
36. #21 is wrong, Jews can use Arab bus system
Mark ,   Vancouver Canada   (03.03.13)
I've used tjhe Arab buses coming from Bethlehem back to Damascus Gate. There were Jews at various points along the route that came on them and went off. They may have not had the same final destination as the Arab passengers (into Jerusalem Arab neighbourhoods) but Jews can and do use Arab buses in Jerusalem to get to common points in the bus routes (eg. Old City)
37. # 13 TO FRANK-EL
Keren Il-BR ,   Tel Aviv   (03.03.13)
Frank, you made my day. This anti-Zionist, anti-Israel creature, Sarah B, truly deserves that. From Brooklym she keeps inciting, provoking, preaching hate and destruction of israel by all means. Israel is not South Africa. We are a decent, civizllized country, governed by the rule of law, including human rights. Thank you for help us from abroad to stop the malign influence of those Israel-bashers.
38. Makes some women very uncomfortable
Ilana   (03.03.13)
Being oggled like a camel in the market is not what a girl wants on the ride home from work.
39. Why does Israel suppy the "palestinian" state
A ,   Belgium   (03.03.13)
with buses? Let them use some of their overly generous US and EU handouts to buy their own buses...and build their own power plants and water purification systems while they are at it.
40. This is a security issue
Yc ,   Jerusalem, IL   (03.03.13)
One of these palestinians can easily carry a terrorist attack with a bomb on one of these buses... I hardly believe this is a racial segregation issue... Not to mention that 1- it makes security inspections easier. 2- palestinians are not obligated to work in Israel... These things happen on non conventional wars, it's time for the reactionary left to get used to the problem they build in 1948...
41. #36, hey mark over in canada
rachel ,   home now   (03.03.13)
that is great you used the busses. Fact however is that I have never seen Jews on those busses, just glaring Arabs. I use egged 38 for old city as does everyone who does not want to do the shlep from machine yehuda with groceries. but maybe i do not know much as I only use busses or walk i Yerushalayim.
42. ISRAEL PRO TWO STATE busses
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.03.13)
43. Objective is to improve services but
Get Real ,   UK   (03.03.13)
more buses would be the answer and on the routes with the highest demands.Passengers would gravitate to those services they require. Whole thing seems badly handled giving a field day to Pallywood PR and leading to the inevitable claims of apartheid when it looks more like it was a way to improve services for Arab workers If it were in response to a terror attack or because of serious security concerns I am sure the authorities would not have been shy in saying so.
44. these things happen
rm ,   Amsterdam NL   (03.03.13)
in non conventional wars someone wrote in a talkback. It's just a security-issue. It's no big deal. Stop the influx of Palestinians to Israel all together also a named solution. Why is it so hard for some to see where the current situation is leading to? Why does Israel need to be defended no matter what....instead of helping it get out of this swamp it creates for itself?
45. Timing
Mattie ,   London, UK   (03.03.13)
When was a statue of Rosa Parks unveiled by President Obama? Oh, just last week...well, they say that in comedy, timing is everything!
46. #37 Funny...
Alex   (03.03.13)
Your comment makes zero sense.
47. Public Transportation
Errol Semple ,   Kitchener, Canada   (03.04.13)
Back of the bus mentality.
48. It makes perfect sense.
Ash Newman ,   Brisbane, Australia   (03.04.13)
arab-muslems bomb, destroy & kill. Keep them separate from the Jews. No doubt the world will waste no time in condemning Israel for having the cheek to defend it's citizens.
49. Bus segregation
Sharon Magnus ,   London Uk   (11.01.14)
Utterly appalling action and utterly appalling attempt at justification. How can we Jews in the diaspora attempt to counter the 'apartheid' argument when the Israeli government acts like this? Just hope the courts throw this out.
