1. Nothing can be more antics than last extemporary elections
Keren ,   IL-BR   (03.04.13)
Only G-d know why Netanyahu did it... If by any chance he(and, perhaps, the past- due- the- time- to -retire-Peres) wanted to create a super being to help him,he ended up creating a super monster that is attacking him. Not understandable what happened...
2. It's fine with me
Yossef   (03.04.13)
3. Coalition of Enemies
Mark ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
It's hard to imagine how this coalition would work, with so much open antagonism between the PM vs. Lapid and Bennett, and Bennett vs. Livni. Basically, the only thing that they all have in common is an unhealthy desire for power. Although I don't agree with any of Sheli's policies at all, I would still prefer to see her in the coalition - someone who actually has some principles and commitment to making things better.
4. Lapid is Holding Israel Hostage
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.04.13)
The demands that Lapid is making are absurd, but he has Bibi up against a wall. Lapid is demanding more than Yesh Atid (a party of novelty) deserves. Unfortunately, The betrayal of Bennet has caused this impasse, by betraying those who voted for Habayit Hayehudi Bennet has given Lapid too much power. Bennet should end this betrayal and form a government with Bibi already.
5. Priorities
Jeff ,   USA   (03.04.13)
If Likud + Livni + Lapid + Bennett goes through instead of Likud + Livni + Lapid + Haredim, Tal will dead (worthy cause), but Lapid will have given the Yesha Council veto power over the Israeli government, and Israel will be crucified internationally.
6. Lapid, king of backdoor negotiations
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.04.13)
lapid is obviously an egomaniac. lapid has zero qualification to be foreign minister except for the express wishes of obama. his insistence on getting this particular portfolio should exclude him from the coalition. bennet should understand this.
7. Lapid
Bill Stein ,   USA   (03.04.13)
Id advise him not to do that Lieberman for FM
8. Israel can't afford "the way things have always been done".
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.04.13)
UTJ and Shas failed to recognize their sectarian demands and privileges can no longer be sustained. The sages used to say that rabbis shouldn't make rulings that the tzibur - the community - could not accept. That's a piece of wisdom they've cast aside. It may be painful to them, but it's something they have to relearn. Maybe a few years in the political wilderness where others set the rules will be good for them.
9. Wisdom of the Nation.
Micael ,   California, USA   (03.04.13)
The Centrist parties are riding the wave of success because they continue staying close to their voters, to the Nation of Israel. Centrist parties will have an easy way to be successful by listening to Am Israel, to the majority, to the Middle Class. No need to follow any of the past politicians' example, just be straightforward and honest. Israel is entering its golden age, the age of cohesion in the Nation, age of settling conflicts that have lasted longer than any other conflict on this planet in modern era. The half million expatriates who left in disgust will help with their means and experience to return Israel to be respected throughout the world.
10. "we will fight for the real issues"
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (03.04.13)
Yeah right ,money without working, no teaching core subjects and religious coercion. About time you lot got a life,a job and learned how to pay your way and take part in your countries defence.
11. #4 disagree
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (03.04.13)
Since 1992, Mafdal has always tried to "influence from the inside" and ended up being used and discarded. Since 1992, Leftists have been ready to sacrifice anything to get the Zionists. Netanyahu decided to violently ethnically cleanse of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem of Jews. He figured Bennet would go along for some jobs and that Lapid would do anything to eliminate the Zionists. Instead he found that Lapid really wants to help the Middle Class and that Bennet isn't falling for the old tricks. Netanyahu overplayed his hand, and Israel came out ahead.
12. Shas & UTJ hardly "his natural parties"
Tal Sharvit ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
Although they may at times exercise a strange hold over Netanyahu, I pray he can be freed from that 'tie.' After all, it was his 'natural party' Shas which betrayed him and brought down his first government in the late '90s. They have never proven themselves trustworthy partners, and he had best let them go.
13. Yair watch out, Bibi is a snake. He has
Dyslexic..... ,   Israel....   (03.04.13)
caught many politicians with there pants down.So dont give in to Bibi. I want to live in in a modern society were there is trains and buses on saterdays and holidays,so the poor people can visit there families around the country and life is normal.I have had enough of the dark ages with Shas and everything that goes with it.Yair keep the faith.
14. Serious changes critical for Israel
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa Israel   (03.04.13)
....And Bayit Yehudi is the only party that will bring them about. We need PM Netanyahu to stay in charge. Yesh Atid has some good ideas. The Haredi parties must drop their arrogant and selfish attitudes; they are our brothers and extremely valuable to Israel, but no better nor more deserving than the rest of us.
15. Wise words
Jay Abouaf ,   Jaffa Israel   (03.04.13)
16. Anyone who believes lapid is a moron
P'd off yid ,   South of tel aviv-Is   (03.04.13)
The only thing I agree with is bringing the haredim to 2013 and ridding the shtetl mentality. However Lapid is the same as all other politicians and he's only interested in seats and favors. If he were PM (G_d forbid) he'd destroy the country within 6 months. He and his party stand for absolutely nothing and he could hardly give a damn about jobs, education or the middle class. Lets see if his inclusion in the gov results more of the regular israeli (like myself) keeping more in his pockets and less in the pockets of the haredi leeches.
17. Wariness, prudence & distrust fully warranted!
An Israeli Jew ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
18. The prime PM has so far made every possible mistake??
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (03.04.13)
Pretty arrogant statement from complete newbies! Bibi is a seasoned politician and negotiator whereas neither Lapid or Bennett have any experience whatsoever.

zioist forever   (03.04.13)
Lapid is the snake sadly right now he has a poisonous bite and other than for his fellow haredi bashers who will be jumping for joy about everything he does will be his fellow haredi bashers. Thats pretty much all we can expect from Lapid other than backstabbing because he wants to be next PM and that means continue doing whats popular don't get down dirty and address important issues because that makes you enemies and decreases your chances of winning the election. The losers will be the people who want to see a government that wants a government that addresses real problems rather than spending all its time focussing on the haredi
20. A quiet revolution has begun
R ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
The people have had their say. Yair Lapid has remained true to his supporters. There is hope.

zionist forever   (03.04.13)
Lapid wants to be foreign minister because that is the most glamorous and influential posting. Its also the best posting to be in if he wants to go into the next election and tell critics who think he doesn't have the qualifications to be PM look I was foreign minister so if I can do that of course I am qualified to be PM. Lapid also needs foreign ministry for the two issues closest to his heart. Power and legacy. After the PM the FM is the most important member of the cabinet and deals with a whole range of issues so he is going to have power even without trying to dictate terms to Bibi constantly by threatening to pull out the coalition. He will also have a very important role to play in things like the peace process and he wants a legacy. Push for a quick deal right now doesn't matter if the deal is good or bad as long as something official is put on paper whilst he is FM. If it blows up in our face couple of years from now just blame it on the palestinians not Lapid. The peace camp in Israel and just about the entire international community will be calling him a great man. Bennet is blinded by personal grudges against Bibi and the fact Lapid can be a smooth talker. He probably also wants another election, in which he endorses Lapid for PM in exchange for certain promises. This is what you get in a system based on backdoor negotiations.
22. Lapid represents a small portion of the Tel_Aviv
(03.04.13)
an nothing else. His people should serve in iDF and not send kids to live in US.
23. Yair La’Pig, let me try to understand your logic.
Shmuel ,   Jerusalem   (03.04.13)
Yair La’Pig, let me try to understand your logic. You refuse that we become part of the government because you want us in your army, that same army that destroyed settlements and forcibly removed Jews from their home. What is even more absurd is that Naftali Bennet, your balding brainless partner was specifically elected to protect those communities and prevent Jews from being removed from their homes in Judea and Samaria. You want us in the work force, but put is in a position that it is illegal to work unless we join your army, something that we will never do as it is a religious imperative to remain in yeshiva and a religious prohibition to waste time by either beating up settlers or what you call community service – sherut leumi. We do it anyway and we do it better. Entire organizations are set up to distribute boxes of food to the poor but rather than humiliating them, we drop off the boxes in the middle of the night outside their door so no one knows they are receiving charity. Our far superior “community service” extends to our taking care of our own, being the elderly, crippled, retarded or even mildly learning disabled and insane which we do not dump in government institutions to what amounts to a life sentence. Obviously, the La’Pig logic is that Israel is governed by your government – edicts carried out by your Army – to carve out your country where there is no place for Chareidim. This insidious agenda of “your country-love it or leave it” is designed to force Chareidim to leave it. Let me clue you in – this is our country and we are not leaving it.
24. My only question to Shmuel #23 is:
Keren ,   IL-BR   (03.04.13)
Why do you allow ,and even support,Jews to be uprooted and thrown away from their houses in the Land of Israel ,being you part of the government?
25. And yet a question to #23
Keren ,   IL-BR   (03.04.13)
If is it so repulsive to be in a army that destroys settlements and forcibly remove Jews from their homes, why it isn´t to seat in the same government that orders that with YOUR agreement as said before? What logic is that of yours? Is it correct for you to take money from such a government to your "yeshives"? What is your right to take money from a people that you abhor so much? Whores behave so.Are you whores? I don´t think the "pig" in this case is Lapid but perhaps you yourselves. And besides,if Israel´s institutions that care for the elderly are so bad,why didn´t you do anything to change that reality while being part of the government? Whores again?
