1. Apartheid
Haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (03.04.13)
So disgraceful of Israel. The world is watching.
2. This is the stupidest idea I have heard since long
Yossef   (03.04.13)
Multiply the number of lines for everybody. If settlers don't like Arabs they can move to Tel-Aviv. What a bunch of morons !
3. Who's idiotic idea was this?
Rachel ,   US   (03.04.13)
4. win win
(03.04.13)
If there are separate buses, the extreme Left screams about apartheid If there are mixed buses, the Jews are murdered. Only solution: destroy Fatah, deport their supporters, give citizenship to Arabs willing to be law-abiding citizens.
5. Dismal situation
Eric ,   Toronto   (03.04.13)
What a terrible way to live for both sides. How long can this dismal situation last? A solution to this"occupation" must be found without endangering the security of Israel. This is no way to live, for settlers, Arabs, checkpoint police, drivers, etc....
6. Separate but equal, it reminds me of
Moses Mafora ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (03.04.13)
segregation laws in the US. Is actually a pure discrimination based on race.
7. What else can we expect from a racist "state"?
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.04.13)
8. Typical Isareli lack of organizational know-how
deavman ,   Acco, Israel   (03.04.13)
This proabably started as a good idea, to reduce the crowding but it is now an internatinal relations nightmare.
9. Non-citizens
(03.04.13)
This is not a matter of Jewish or non Jewish, this is a matter of non-citizens Racism is not a matter of splitting bus lines, racism is when you want to kick all Jews out of a land because they are Jews.
10. no problem
Michael ,   Haifa   (03.04.13)
We can always justify our ugly image to the world with a little bit of hasbara
11. 1960's racism
Debi ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
Separate but equal was taken care of in the 60's in the United States. If the world cannot learn from its mistakes how are we to become better? Separate is NOT equal.
12. Sexual segregation
Igor ,   Germany   (03.04.13)
Where I live, we have woman-only taxis, woman-only parking spaces, woman-only university classes... to say nothing of woman-only restrooms. But that's considered "progressive".
13. Could you imagine the storm of protest
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (03.04.13)
if a country decided to have Jewish only buses because it minimises the risk of Al Qaeda attacks to the rest of the population? I expect this policy to have been scrapped by the end of the week, and the fact that it has happened at all shows the lack of calibre within the transportation department.
14. nonsense
Marcel ,   San Jose, Costa Rica   (03.04.13)
What a heap of nonsense. Racism is when you give in to religious zealots and allow them to push women to the rear section of a bus or demand that others take other buses.
15. Salma # 7
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.04.13)
If you had your own state you wouldn't allow Jews in it at all. We know what we can expect from you. If you were to act civilized this would not be happening. If you don't like it go to Jorden or Egypt.
16. busses
EddiE ,   sa   (03.04.13)
If they dont work in Israel there wont be aa need for separate busses.
17. Solution
Anshel ,   Canada   (03.04.13)
Employ every available Israeli unemployed and the problem to bus Palestinian Arab workers to Israel will be eliminated. But it would take a monumental effort on part of the bureaucrats...
18. Rosa Parks meet naftali Bennett's freedom riders
Avramele   (03.04.13)
In the week the US congress unveils a statue to Rosa Parks, the settler lobby introduces a new element of Jim Crow into the West Bank situation. Let's put out a press release helping our beleagued Zionist students on American and European campuses explain this one. Bad politics, bad optics and just plain stupid. Mr. Lapid, are these the dogs you choose to lie with? Good luck as FM!
19. Something amiss with this story
Ilan   (03.04.13)
Were Palestinians taking the bus from Ariel to Tel Aviv before? No. And if no Palestinian is to be refused a ride on the pre-existing lines then how is it segregation. There will now be mixed buses and Arab only buses. So who is being discriminated against?
20. Ynet censorship
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.04.13)
wallah zaman !
21. Not racism
Igor ,   Detroit, USA   (03.04.13)
This isn't racism, SINCE NOTHING IS BEING FORCED on the Arabs population. They can still use the same methods they used before. They don't have to travel on the Palestinian only buses. If it was forced on them and they couldn't travel on mixed buses, than its racism.
22. #18 Rosa Parks wasn't a threat
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (03.04.13)
to anyone's life, these Arabs have been and are Rosa didn't get on the bus with a load of explosvies under her clothing, the same can[t be said of your Arab terrorist buddies
23. To Salma
Shalom   (03.04.13)
Look at who is talking Time Israel close the borders and no more work for Palestinians in Israel go develop you area .... I agree people like you do not have a place in Israel Salma welcome back Salamat you peace loving rock throwers
24. segregated bus lines
SME ,   Jerusalem   (03.04.13)
Enough! We allow our infrastructure providers to provide water and electricity to illegal settlements. We allow banks to provide mortgages. And now my taxes (50% of my income!!!) are being used to finance separate bus lines - adding hours to Palestinian commute times, if seats on the buses are even available. Can we really continue to be silent with the degradation of an entire population, day after day, so that our fellow Israelis can fulfill messianic ambitions - or simply find cheaper housing? Not only is this all immoral, but it it endangering all of us. Maybe when it finally blows up in our face, yet again, this time we won't fall back on the convenient "wisdom" that it's happening because there is "no partner for peace." Enough!
25. Why don't they just get their own buses?
A ,   Belgium   (03.04.13)
In 2008, the "palestinians" recieved $1.8 billion in handouts...sorry..."aid". In 2009, the "palestinians" recieved $1.4 billion, and in the first half of 2010, they recieved $525 million. Most of these funds came from the US and EU. With all that money (that obviously isn't being invested in anything worthwhile), you would think they could set up a few bus lines of their own in their fantasy "state". But their dependence on Israel for everything will never end as they are incapable of doing anything on their own that doesn't involve terror, and their lies of occupation and persecution are only that... lies. And Israel will always have to do whatever necessary to protect its civilians, whether they live in Samaria or Tel Aviv.
26. eric 5
alsky ,   toronto   (03.04.13)
it will last as long as Arabs fail to recognize Israel as the Homeland of the Jews. We will not submit !
27. #1 Ms Sweeden, I would look in your own country
rotem, Israel   (03.04.13)
before talking about disgraceful. Keep you Nazi thought to yourself and at least read about Apartheid and Islam terror, before making stupid comments.
28. Separate is NOT equal!
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.04.13)
This is Apartheid in every sense of the word.
29. 1 Haider most intelligent people
alsky ,   toronto   (03.04.13)
understand that this is due to Palestinian terror. In North America. We call it common sense
30. 2 yossef
alsky ,   toronto   (03.04.13)
'settlers' have the right to live in Israel not having to worry about their enemies. Move to Tel Aviv ? who is the moron ?
