4. There you go!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.05.13)
Israel has already stopped one shipment (and possibly more that we do not know about) of arms to Hezbollah. Notice has been served. There will NOT be another warning. Do keep that in mind.
5. UN should remind Israel of its illegal occupation
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.05.13)
An occupation in violation of numerous UN res. The Golan Heights is not Israel's territory and not a sliver of land outside Israels unilaterally declared borders is Israel territory.
6. Waow, Israel is itching to go to war. By all means please do
Anonymous ,   TX, USA   (03.05.13)
Ah, you can't stand it, couple of shells lands inside Israel, and suddenly Israeli politicians start rattling their sabers. Israel is itching to get into a new war...hmmm...it has only been a couple of month since Israel's latest clash with Hamas, already you are getting bored and missing the action. By all means, please go, get yourself entagled in the Syrian Civil war, as if you learned nothing from the Lebanese Civil war. Go ahead, invade Syria, create a buffer security Zone inside Syria, put up a dummy militia to handle daily occupation dirty work there...and let's see where this will eventually lead to, probably another Hizbullah type of resistance. And a long and bloody war of attrition will ensue.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.05.13)
Predictably enough, you are stupidly wrong. Israel annexed the Golan Heights. Funnily enough, when you win a war against an aggressor, you get to keep the territory. Israeli territory is that which Israel declares is its sovereign territory, having prevailed in a DEFENSIVE war against Syria. The Golan Heights belongs to Israel. Go stand in a corner and bang your stupid head into a wall, if that makes you feel any better. It probably won't make you any smarter, but -- then again -- you weren't exactly working with much in the way of intellect to begin with, were you? Syria declared war against Israel. Syria lost. Syria lost territory in the process. Boo hoo hoo. Cry me a river. Do you REALLY think that we'd let you rewrite international law, convention and statute? Guess again. The Golan belongs to Israel. See what happens when you declare war ... and lose? Poor, poor, pitiful Syrians. Don't tempt us, honey. We will clean your clock.

10. Israel Should Liberate the Rest of the Golan
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.05.13)
The entire Golan is a historical part of Israel and has been occupied by Syria for way too long. Syria is a fake nation invented by Colonial Imperialist. This fake nation has been held together this long through ruling dictators and sheer brutality. Syria should never had even a centimeter of Israel's Golan in it's possession and it's time Israel liberates the rest.
11. agree with Stephen NY, move the line of control
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.05.13)
indeed, take over the rest of the golan. syria has no central government and its army lost control of the entire area abutting israel. the area abutting israel is filled with armed terrorists and fsa who are not under any central sovereign authority. syria is turning into a failed state where various rebel groups and islamist terrorists are fighting the remnanats of assad's army. israel cannot accept under any circumstances the presence of these various terror groups in the areas abutting her territory and endangering her population.

The U.N. needs to investigate Poland's illegal occupation of Western Prussia, Russia's illegal occupation of Eastern Prussia, the Czech Republic's illegal occupation of the Sudetenland, and France's illegal occupation of the Alsace. When you start wars and lose, you lose land.
13. The original Hebrew text reads:
Kratolix   (03.05.13)
"As always we'll do either nothing or the minimum inefficient waste-of-money ops", "we'll continue to beg and cajole Tsipo to join the government and we'll let her Genius make the final decisions, together with drooler Peres"
14. No 6 What???
A Shvitzer ,   Israel   (03.05.13)
Why don't you just calm down with your talk of war.Why shouldn't Israel say something about this situation should we just sit back and take shells landing here.luckily no one has been killed.Calm down!!!
15. Golani
Josh ,   USA   (03.05.13)
It seems to me that any chance Israel would ever give up the Golan is gone. It would be madness to even consider doing so given the instability in Syria. Who would Israel even sign such a deal with now?
16. # 14 I think what # 6 is trying to say is don't
ben   (03.05.13)
think twice before you start another war , if you read Moshe Dyan. " I know how 80 % of the clashes there started. In my opinion more than 80 % We would send a tractor to plough someplace where it wasn't possible to do anything. In the demilitarized area, and knew in advance that the Syrians would start to shoot. If they didn't shoot, we would tell the tractor to advance farther, until in the end the Syrians would get annoyed and shoot. And then we would use artillery and later the air force also and thats how it was" Dayan was talking about 1967. So I think what # 6 is saying is think twice before you start another war for whatever reason security or territorial expansion
17. wrong
ahmed sulimina ,   Jordan   (03.05.13)
he who loses land in war loses the land. Israel did not invade Syria, Syria invaded Israel, they were repelled and lost. Too bad for Syria, Israel now can defend itself.
18. It's not an occupation and certainly not illegal
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.05.13)
If lydia knew anything about international law and especially those related to war, she'd know that territory acquired in a defensive war can be legally retained as needed for its defense against future aggression. Syria made war against Israel in 1948, 1967 and 1973. It lost. It thus surrendered any claims to territory lost as a result of its aggression. There's a good reason for such a principle: to discourage aggression. Alternatively, to maintain Syria's claim to the territory it lost is to remove any price for said aggression.
19. # 17 and 18 read Mosh Dayan on 1967
ben   (03.05.13)
and how it was Israel you was trying to start a war with Syria. PS the 4 Geneva convention that Israel is a signatore does not allow you to keep territory captured in war
20. No 14 Shviter - You should calm down and listen to Ben # 16
Anonymous ,   TX, USA   (03.05.13)
Israel saying something about it, is one thing, but Barak is insinuating that Israel will do something about it. Turkey, Iraq, Jordan & Lebanon All took, and are taking stray shells from Syria, none of them is considering intervening in Syrian Civil war. Tell me this, in 1991 when Israel was being hit by in its heart by Scud ballistic missiles, didn't Israel just sit back and take it Why? because it was told not to get involved as it wasn't its war. Same here, Syrian Civil war isn't Israel's war, so yes they should take it, and don't get over excited about couple of tank shells mistakenly landing inside Golan heights.
21. 5 Annexation without the high stakeholder is BS
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.06.13)
Without the express approval ie recognition of the high stakeholders Israel annexation of Palestinian land is illegal hence the numerous UN res. against the occupation.
22. 18. Deluded one! 250UN res says you are ILLEGAL
lycquired by war dia ,   Brisbane   (03.06.13)
All territories acquired by war is illegal. So says the Geneva Convention Israel clambered to join.
