1. Excuse me, but ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.06.13)
... the ersatz "Palestinians" are reaping the fruits of the violence and terror that they have sown for seven decades. Oh, and let us not forget that they ended up on the losing side of six wars of aggression started by the Arabs. There are consequences to violence, belligerence and terror, and the ersatz "Palestinians" are not exempt from those consequences. If they don't like it, they are free to go to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Frankly, the overwhelming majority of Israelis are tired of their constant whining. Not to mention their unremitting violence.
2. #1, PR for the Palestinians
Beauchard   (03.06.13)
The bureaucratic fence serves no purpose, It does give ammunition to the Israel/Jew haters. BTW, the repetitive vitriolic hatred of Arabs espoused by some Jews like Sara B from the U.S.A. is really appreciated by the existential enemies of Israel. The anti-Arab zealots do not realize/care that their bigotry is great PR for the Palestinians.
3. Hebron Roads
EAM ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
Wah, Wah, Wah!!! Give me a break! You lose, you don't call the shots! Plain and simple. Don't like it, Here's your exit visa. A bit north and east of here I hear its much better. The paved roads currently have a few minor divots from the constant shelling. Once Assad finishes his game of slaughter, I'm sure he will repave them.
4. @sarah b: spot on
Observer   (03.06.13)
Israelis don't want Palestinians and do not hide it. If the Palestinians don't like it in Israel they are more than welcome to leave.
5. Read the article & you got the answer to "why is there anti-
Robert   (03.06.13)
semitism" Most jew see nothing wrong. jews believe and are taught they are G-ds on earth & non-jews are here to serve them.
6. Who said this land is yours?!
(03.06.13)
Not sure God's role is to act as the Jew's landlord where this is theirs and that is ours! You won the war. Enjoy the land you got. One day we'll get it back. Plain and simple Mr. Plain and simple!! That day, we'll make sure NO Jews are here. That is what I call spot on ;-)
7. Selective omission is great PR for Israel's enemies.
Steve ,   South Wales   (03.06.13)
Ynet news seems to be constantly prepared to go to any length to denigrate the Israeli perspective at the expense of selectively promoting the Palestinian narrative. I'm not Jewish, but it is as clear as day to me. Why doesn't Ynet news report how Jews are forbidden from entering the Temple Mount, or merely entering Palestinian areas under fear of their very lives? These pivotal issues have no bearing on whether the surface is paved or unpaved.
8. I want the Arab side paved with gold all the way to Amman!
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.06.13)
9. no 6
JUDAH THE LION ,   JEWS FIGHT LIKE LION   (03.06.13)
Muslims already have no Jews in their countries, and even abu mazen said he will not let one single to live with them. If the Muslims have the right to refuse to let the Jews to live with them, then we also have the right to do the same. PlAIN & SIMPLE.One rule for all.
10. No fences with One State Solution
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (03.06.13)
Mabey Israel and the Palestinians should share one secular state with a constitution guaranteeing religious freedom for all. This Jewish State is failing quickly!
11. Saraleh's provocative outbursts
Frankie ,   Tel Aviv   (03.06.13)
Sara B's provocative outbuirsts are just fine for the Palestinan PR - look these racist yehudonim:-(. If the iDF thinks the fence & partition is for security reasons, so be it, but Jewish extremists a la Sara B. only justify the "canard" of Israeli apartheid & ethnic cleaning.
12. @2 Fence, like the "wall" serves a very good purpose
jrebecca ,   modiin   (03.06.13)
It will reduce attacks by arabs on Jews. Look at the stats on how well the "wall" has worked. As for bigotry etc do me a favor and just listen to the Arabs. The head of Egypt called Jews dogs and Pigs. Head of the PA says "not one Jew in Palestine". The Arab's children's programs tell the kids to Kill Jews. There is a good reason for this fence. There has been a LOT of Arab violence in this area recently.
13. Who said this land in yours.no 6
TAHRIR QUDS ALYAHUDI ,   QUDS HAKA ALYAHUD   (03.06.13)
Who said this land of Israel is ours,. well, read history, read Old/New Testament, and the Quran.
14. # 6 Who wants to know?
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.06.13)
You will never get the land. If the Jews were like you sorry excuses for human beings you would all be back in Jordan or Egypt. Don't cry when you have to get a taste of your own medicene.
15. Could not have said it better, U go girl!!!
Fan of Sarah B ,   NYC USA   (03.06.13)
16. #1,3,4,5 and 6
Beauchard   (03.06.13)
One side wants to get rid of all the Arabs. The other side wants to get rid of all the Jews. I would like to make a suggestion. Find yourselves a piece of land where you can proclaim the superiority of your true God. You can also hate and kill each other to your hearts' content. The rest of us can then coexist together.
17. not smart
Jeff ,   USA   (03.06.13)
This sort of thing only fuels the "apartheid" argument, and if you stick to it, after a while even the US will no longer be able to support you because of its pretty long-standing sensitivity to racism issues. The result will be a "peaceful Palestinian movement demanding equality and the right to vote," and a binational state.
18. Separate but equal
Larry ,   Northridge, usa   (03.06.13)
I have always defended and championed Israel's actions and policies, until now. It's hard to believe that the same minds who have built the arrow 3, the worlds most sophisticated missile defence system, have done something so stupid, so self destructive,as to initiate segregated, and decidedly, unequal access roads, and a segregated bus system on the eve of a black American president's visit. A president who dislikes Israel, and looks for an excuse to criticize it. Israel should design a system to prevent it shooting itself in the foot.
19. Reply to #1 in tribute to Edmund Burke
On the Balcony ,   Akko   (03.06.13)
Initially I thought your postings were simply the product of ignorance and youth. Now, using your price tag logic from previous comments, I begin to suspect that you are actually a trolling Palestinian Arab provocateur. Palestinian-Arabs are human beings. The State of Palestine exists. Settlers are squatters on their land. Get over it. Perhaps the mikveh can wash away the vile stench of ignorance, hatred and violence in your soul that seeps through almost every word you write. Or think about becoming a Christian. Israel really doesn't need more Jews with small brains, full lungs and big mouths.
20. what I want to know...
Jonathan ,   MN/US   (03.06.13)
is why only one side of the road is paved
21. to #1, incorrect
Adam ,   Cork   (03.06.13)
stop referring it to as their country of citizenship, Jordan has stopped handing them out citizenship in the 80s.
22. If Arabs didn't carry knives and try stabbing Jews and
Justin ,   Hebron   (03.06.13)
soldiers there wouldn't be any fence. Of course Piece Now is too stupid to understand this.
23. #11 your the extremist
rachel ,   usa   (03.06.13)
24. Protecting Jews from Terror Attacks
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.06.13)
The fence clearly exists to prevent suicide attacks and stabbings. However, They should pave both sides. The article does not mention that Jews are not free to travel in Hebron. Anytime I have attempted to walk freely in Hebron the Border Police ask if I am a Jew, and when I answer yes, they reply that no Jew are allowed to walk around in Hebron outside the Jewish enclave. This is for Jew's safety, but nonetheless this is not reported.
25. What are Peace Now's security proposals?
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (03.06.13)
Or do they claim there is no need for security, because everyone will just be very nice to each other?
26. Hey Peace Now...where was the wall in 1999?
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
There wasn't any wall between Arabs and Jews in Hebron in 1999. It was erected shortly after 2000. Want to guess why? Arab terrorism which heavily targeted Jews in and around Hebron with the ultimate goal, as Arafat stated, to drive Jews out of the town forever. Arab violence still has not abated and under rules of legal obligation, Israel cannot commit acts that will facilitate the injury or death of its own citizens if the security situation still exists. Let Arabs stop the terrorism and the fence can be taken down - after a period of cooling off. Why is the pally's road unpaved? Simple - IDF patrols can see footprints and movement to breach the fence or test security response from the Arab side, just as they do at the Gaza fence. Just as the US does on the Mexican border. Just as Indian soldiers do near kashmir, etc.
27. #2 - "bureaucratic" only for those who don't live there
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
The fence itself serves a very real purpose which appeared in 2000 following Arafat's launch of yet another failed but violent intifada which has since not subsided. Hebron is still a place full of Arab violence. And that's a fact. No bigotry.
28. #6 - so confident of that...you didn't even add your name
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
Those who scream behind the skirts of women and send children into harm's way is nothing close to brave. It is you who illegally won this part of the land in 1948 following a war of genocide. We just re-claimed it as per the 1922 agreements and world support. The city of Hebron is holy to Jews - always was - and no amount of usurping, violence, or support from UNESCO will change that. Whether G-d is the landlord or not is immaterial. The truth is, you never owned it and you continue to lose wars to ethnically cleanse Jews. Watch it...lest you find yourself bundled up and dropped on the other side of Dead Sea one day.
29. #10 - That was already offered and Arabs rejected it
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
Seems the very presence of Jews was the concern for them. Since then its been nothing but anti-Jewish violence and dehumanizing, which kills the credibility of any One State solution. Ergo, the reason the majority of the world's countries, even those who support a Pally State, are NOT in favor or supportive of destruction of Israel in any way, shape or form. So, your altered reality remains...for you...just a wet dream. Enjoy.
30. #11 - there is no Israeli Apartheid or Ethnic Cleansing
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
unless you can prove otherwise. So far, the population has only grown, in size and in social quality. making your statement about Sarah B more of a reflection of your own intellectual limitations.
