31. #18 - have you asked why, or just accepted the article?
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
Why does the fence exist in the first place when it didn't in 1999? Arab violence which hasn't yet stopped. Why is there unpaved on the Arab side? It's a common tactic used by security units and border patrols to monitor movement around the fence. See? Ask questions and get intelligent, instead of spouting nonsense and look retarded.
32. #19 You're full of knowledge
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (03.06.13)
So, by your measure, it's ok for the arabs to kill Jews and not ok for Jews to defend themselves? We've lived here for 3,000 years, and they are the natives after living here 20 to 100 years? You are trully wise.
33. #20 - it aids security monitoring of the fence
William ,   Israel   (03.06.13)
The US uses the same tactic on the Mexican border, as does India in kashmir, etc.
34. #6 wishing the Jews away
Harvey ,   London   (03.06.13)
Don't wish the Jews away too quickly . We are your lightning rod . If we were not here , you would be killing each other as in Syria , Irak . Lebanon will go next once Assad falls and Jordan will soon follow . Iran murders its own citizens in full view of the worlds cameras and Egypt is a failed bankrupt third world mess . Afghanistan , Pakistan , Somalia , Sudan , Libya , Tunisia all failed third world tyrannies and repressive Islamist hell holes . We Jews simply provide a little diversion from your primary cause which is to commit murder and mayhem .
35. Question?
David ,   USA   (03.06.13)
Are Arab Israelis forbidden on the "Jewish" side? I suspect they are allowed. Which means the title of this article is misleading.
36. In the end, the Jordan River will seperate the Jews
A ,   Belgium   (03.06.13)
and the arabs, and hopefully soon.
37. Separate infrastructure for separate political entities.
Jake ,   USA   (03.06.13)
The Arabs wanted their own government, they got one. Separate transportation & infrastructure for separate [warring] political entities is NOT apartheid. It's common sense.
38. Genuine security or just plain pettiness?
(03.06.13)
None the less it takes two to tango
39. Which side for non-Jewish, non-Arab tourists?
Mark ,   London, UK   (03.06.13)
40. This is wrong
Einhorn ,   Denver USA   (03.06.13)
I am an ardent Zionist and believe that 99% of the time the IDF and Israeli government is justified in using whatever necessary. I agree with the separation barrier I agree with checkpoints. But separate streets for Jews and Arabs is wrong this is an escalation that will be used to justify all those BDS and Arab countries in calling Israel an apartheid state. Please note I am not calling Israel an apartheid state I do not believe it is nor is it in my opinion close. But this is morally and socially wrong for a country that is democratic. And please ignore any spelling mistakes I'm typing this on a very small phone screen!
41. Really??
Bernard Patton ,   USA   (03.06.13)
These fake Jews are KHAZARS!! Not REAL Jews, just Jewish.. Not Israelites but Israelis... the TRUTH is out!! Read Book: The 13th Tribe
42. Build more
435323 ,   Tel Aviv   (03.06.13)
Thanks to these walls and fences there are no more suicide bomb attacks. PLEASE BUILD MORE!
43. Separation
Dani ,   Kenstadt   (03.06.13)
Wherever we Jews lived and live it was always together we the non-Jewish population. We never strove for segregation. In the Land of Israel we also want to live together with the non-Jews in peace. But they do not let us... And they do not desire to live in peace with us. Do not blame the victims for wanting to keep the aggressors at bay...
44. #1 I used to read your posts....
deavman ,   Acco, Israel   (03.07.13)
...sometimes for for fun, sometimes for balance and sometimes for insight.I think you have reached the end of the road where the precipice is the only option if you go forward. You have two choices, one io keep going and fall into your own little world of extreme anti-Arab nonsense or, when you still have the chance, retreat to a modicum of sanity where your words might still enough value to be read by someone with intelligence.
45. #5 read your post, & you realize why there is anti-
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.07.13)
semitism. People like you conjure up the most ridiculous theories, without bothering to check facts, or look at reality. You made your own fantasy; now live in it. Poor guy.
46. @#18 Separate but equal
Machado ,   Slver Spring USA   (03.07.13)
I also thought it hard to believe bu then looking back to the origins of many of the founding fathers of Israel, Central and Eastern Europe, and the time frame 1870's to 1948, I figured several card carrying Nazis slipped in and avoided detection. The racist policies displayed today arise from their descendants who hold positions of power today while the amazing advances in Science and Technology are due to the intelligence of the descendants of the persecuted. Pity the descendants of the persecuted have allowed themselves to be co-opted by the Nazi clique.
47. Reply to #31
Larry ,   Northridge,usa   (03.07.13)
First of all, willie, its lookING like a retard, not look like a retard. Secondly, theres a big difference between the raked, smoothed dirt used to show infiltration, and this muddy, heavily trafficked, goat path. I certainly hope you didn't work on the arrow.
48. ignorance
evi ,   Israel   (03.07.13)
You really are so ignorant. Its people like you with views like this that keep my Israel trapped in the dark ages.
49. Apartheid
Trev ,   Canada   (03.07.13)
Noun A policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race. Segregation in other contexts.
50. To: No. 49
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.13)
So, when European immigrants to North America herded native populations onto reservations, that's apartheid. Isn't that correct, according to your definition? Careful, Trev. If you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw stones.
51. Worse and worse...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.07.13)
The situation is just getting worse and worse. I think that the military is worried about another intifada and that is their reason for this road division. I can understand their reasoning, but disagree with it totally - it more likely to bring on another intifada than to help if it occurs. I for one do not want to live in an Apartheid state. If I were a bit younger I might even contemplate emigration due to the current tendency to enforce more and more Apartheid - like rules and laws. :(
52. Well Spoken #51
World Citizen ,   the world   (03.07.13)
As the right wing of Israeli society increasingly brings the forces of apartheid to bear on the Palestinian people; the more the chances of world sanctions on Israel. I for one hope the right wing gets its way for the short term. These people are Israel's worst enemies and they make my job so much easier. Apartheid is indefensible by all measures of civilised society.
53. #52 world
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.08.13)
except when they are continually trying to kill you, to steal from you (Rachel's Tomb is a mosque?), unwilling to live with you anywhere nearby, and declare they want a state without any one of you in it. Details, details...
54. #47- but is it based on race?
William ,   Israel   (03.08.13)
Many claim that Jews and Arabs are of the same race. But if we examine the nature of this segregation we see two things that define the populations. Different nationalities and opposing sides in a live war. Separation on either of these are NOT considered racism nor apartheid. If you can find an example of such, please present it. However, there are MANY examples of walls and other forms of segregation based on nationality and conflict all over the world that could easily contradict your claim.
55. sowing and reaping
bernard ross   (03.08.13)
56. #51 - "Apartheid indefensible by all...civilised society"
William ,   Israel   (03.08.13)
except when committed by Arabs, right? Haven't heard your condemnation when Arabs initiated their own restrictive policies against non-Arabs, non-Muslims. Would doing so violate your "accept all cultures" mentality? How do you deal with the inherent conflict of these two opposing views? Just curious.
57. #46 - racist in your head, only
William ,   Israel   (03.08.13)
Let's be honest. Your own hatred biases are leading your logic and not doing a very good job at all. If these so-called "european Jews" are initiators of racist policies, then why have they asked Arabs to remain in the State and build it together, and enshrined equality for all citizens with freedom of worship in law? Racists usually do the opposite, no? And how is keeping a population who is at war with you and trying to kill you from doing so, racist in nature? Isn't the very fact that they are all Arabs and they target ONLY Jews for the past 90 years a very blatant racist policy?
58. the price of continuing arab hatred
bernard ross   (03.08.13)
59. Hey cool it its only a road!!!
Bobby ,   Canada   (03.12.13)
One road, one fence, give me a break ,,,,this is not Saudi Arabya where the sign says MUSLIMS ONLY... Besides the people can wave to each other as they pass by. Its only a road!! Not a concentratiin camp. Dome of the Rock is off limits to jews. Cool it
