1. Why there is a notion, that West should help rebels?
Oleg ,   USA   (03.06.13)
They are the same as Al Qeda, no difference. Same barbarians, completely out of their minds. Why US decided to help them? There is no reason. Assad maybe bad, maybe tiran, but who will come to power if he is ousted? Those guys? West should not stick its nose in this conflict, let them have what they deserve
2. I would be a lot happier if there were no rebel and no assad
Oberver   (03.06.13)
but I think that all in all assad would be better for Israel in the long term since he hasn't and probably won't cause any problems in the future. The advantage that I see of the rebels winning to Israel is that Iran will lose a key ally and also that the Hezbollah would be at risk of collapse due lack of transfer of arms and also the possibility of confrontation with the FSH
3. :) im not sorry at all lol
(03.06.13)
4. Islamist Behaving Like Terrorist
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.06.13)
Once the terrorist take down Assad they will turn on Israel and the West.
5. 20 UN peacekeepers held hostage and what does the UN do?
A ,   Belgium   (03.06.13)
Undeniably Nothing. Except complain about Israel building homes for Jews in the capital city of Jerusalem.
6. Detained? Sounds like they were kidnapped.
Adam Eliyahu   (03.06.13)
7. Rebel Behavior
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (03.06.13)
This is not surprising. What IS surprising is that the UN--regardless of how many times it is kicked in the face by Muslims will continue to rationalize and support them. note to #1. Obama unfortunately feels the US should help the rebels. That too should not come as a surprise to anyone!
8. Isn't that illegal?
Sean ,   USA   (03.06.13)
9. hold a massive exercise in the Golan
zionist forever   (03.06.13)
Israel needs to send a message to both Assad and the rebels don't get to close or you will regret it. Announce in advance the army will be holding an exercise so everybody knows this is not Israel preparing for invasion of Syria then hold a large scale exercise in the Golan. Couple of hundred tanks, helicopter gunships, F16 just holding a war game. allows for a show of strength without getting dragged into the fighting.
10. Israel usually bombs UN peacekeepers
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.06.13)
UK/Hague wants to send the rebels more weapons and armored cars. Not unlike US supplying the Israel illegal occupiers with $$bils in weapons and arms courtesy of the US taxpayers.

allan Cohen ,   adelaide   (03.07.13)
the Illegal occupiers of Australia should also give back the land they stole from the Aboriginals, then we all have a clear conscience Hey Lydia!
14. golan
alexi   (03.07.13)
all of the osoists from barak to peres and so on and now bibi.- do you want syrian rebels sitting on the sea of galilee down below? do you want to trust erdogan and syrian rulers to respect israeli soveriegnty when they sit right onthe shores of the sea? Rabin, barak, olmert, baidetz and bibi were and are dumb, dumb to even for a second to consider this valuable golan heights. They were israeli in ancient times and are officially israeli now and only peace should be traded for peace.
15. reminds me of the Henry Kissinger quote...
Jeff ,   USA   (03.07.13)
from during the Iran/Iraq war... "It's too bad both sides can't lose."
16. Lydia - when are you ending your illegal...
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.07.13)
...occupation of Aboriginal Australia? When are you going to lead by example, give your illegal settler home back to its rightful owners, get off the continent you stole and go back to Europe where you came from?!?!?! It must feel nice, Lydia, being a successful occupation settler on stolen land, no? Or are you suggesting that we use the successful Aussie model of conquering native land, occupying it, building settlements, and not turning back one inch? How old is Aussieland? Maybe we'll wait the same amount of time and when we've cleared out most of the aboriginals like you did, we'll give 'em the vote and a few dollars of compensation. Way to go, Lydia!
17. Pathetic! Why didn't they defend themsleves?

22. Israel Should Monitor Area Not UN
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.07.13)
The UN has consistently failed in preventing hostilities on the border. It's time Israel takes over it's own security along Lebanon and Syrian borders.
23. Same rebels Israel were treaing in ZivHospital
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.07.13)
My bet is these are Israels own rebel fighters. They came recently to Israel for medical attention and instructions
24. UN is not Israel's problem
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.07.13)
let the helpful russians pay the proper bribe to the proper people.
25. #23 lydia - you lose
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.07.13)
your bet. And thank you for proving my post #18 correct; you couldn't dispute it if you tried.
26. #22 Agreed
Get Real ,   UK   (03.07.13)
Israel must always rely on itself and least of all on the UN # 9 no need for playing war games like Iran is so fond to do. Just a simple message to Syria and the rebels that any terrorist attack mounted from Syria will result in a most harsh immediate response from Israel. Israel cannot allow the threat of another terrorist entity on its borders.
