4. This must STOP!
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.07.13)
Unless and until the police act this kind of behaviour is going to continue to spread. It must be stopped NOW!
5. @1: Nice Gesture, Nice Words But . . .
emanon ,   USA   (03.07.13)
Unless it is you at fault, the words are meaningless. During the days between Rosh Hoshana and Yom Kippur, do we not ask forgiveness directly from those we have wronged? It is not you who needs to apologize and ask forgiveness, but those that committed this wrongful act.
6. Charedi unfit for government
Gordon ,   London   (03.07.13)
This sort of behaviour shows why the charedi must now be part of the next government. To abuse those going to a shiva is an insult to Hashem.
7. The true face of the harideem
Haim ,   TA   (03.07.13)
These people are discusting in every sense of the world. According to the report they were haredi young men. Just goes to prove that these so called men have to much time on their hands and should be drafted in to the army. Quite obvilusly they lack any sense of decency or morality. Its just a matter of time before the hareedi lynch mob kill someone. A long jail sentence is appropriate in this case but lets face it they will get away with it as the police fear rioting by the harideem who seem to belive they are above the law.
8. Haredim are,,,
Sam ,   Belgium   (03.07.13)
It's funny that u write that u pasel a whole ziebur,,because of actions of a very few,,,,and besides the hareidem don't do it to Arabs ,,, It's a bid of anti semetisim what u write Sorry,,!!!!
9. These thugs are Israel's......

....equivalent of Europe's skinheads.
10. @2. Hey, leave us Goyim out of this!.
Charles M. ,   California, USA   (03.07.13)
So sorry, but they are still Religious Ultra Orthodox Jews. Don't drop your zealot problems on others.
11. 2 Women Assaulted in Jerusalem
Moshe Ben-Saul ,   Colorado Springs USA   (03.07.13)
The Haredim are no better than the Arabs who protest against Israel. You are a disgrace to Jews everywhere.
12. Parasites...
steven ,   New York, USA   (03.07.13)
Too many of the haredim don't work, don't pay taxes and they don't serve in the armed forces. They attack others and get away with it. Blame the government.
13. Torah Study All Day?
SteveR ,   Dallas USA   (03.07.13)
I guess they really don't study all day after all do they? These two seem ready to fight (against women). I suggest the judge tell them jail time at hard labor or the army.
14. disgraceful comments of #2 and 3
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (03.07.13)
It is disgraceful to say such as Haradim are Toraless yoim and Haredim are a disgrace. True the actions of these two men is disgraceful, but to label an entire public sector of 300,000 law abiding people as disgraceful is itself a racist and hateful action. I think the extrapolation of actions of a minority to the majority is not just foolish but the very tools of the Nazis and anit-semitics in the world. #2 and 3 should be ashamed of their words!
15. A lot missing
Fred ,   israel   (03.07.13)
There is a lot missing to this story. Can you give us some background.
16. #14
Dagan ,   Israel   (03.07.13)
Who the hell educated them then? Other Haredim! I keep hearing about astounding things that are going on in Jerusalem Haredim sectors, and I personally don't build my opinion here. Every attack has a descriptive motivation; you don't see criminals in the news explained as "secular Jews from Tel Aviv." You see them explained as what their occupational reason resulted in the attack, same as "settlers" instead of just "West Bank residents." The same goes for the Haredim - it's the nonsense the rest of the Haredim teach them that is the result of the article you see here today, not a couple of once-in-a-life-time mentally deformed Haredim.
17. label an entire public sector
stanley ,   Haifa Israel   (03.07.13)
In view of the fact that as yet, there has been no comment let alone condemnation by the Haredi themselves, labelling the entire sector is quite justified
18. Digusting Behavior Needs Harsh Sentences
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.07.13)
Israel needs to impose harsh sentences for those involved in racist attacks. Haredim are out of control and perhaps a special Haredi prison needs to be built.
19. I condemn this attack!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (03.07.13)
There is no doubt here that these girls did this horrible act. Two women - one of them an Arab teacher - are on their way to pay a shiva call and are attacked??? These girls should be imprisoned for a length of time so they understand that there are laws in this country. And besides the fact that the act in and of itself is reprehensible; there is also the possibility that Jews could be attacked even more in Europe because of it. Such stupid girls!!
20. wrong
Myconius ,   L'wd   (03.07.13)
The amount of attacks from haredim outnumbers all the antisemitic attacks from all of Europe.
21. Racist Attacks
Chava ,   Israel   (03.07.13)
Every Jew and every human being must condemn these racist attacks, which are occuring here with greater frequency. Those of us who oppose these attacks must stand up, speak out, demonstrate and let our voices be heard. We must push for a hate crimes law that will provide stronger punishments for these types of crime.
22. Labelilng an entire sector of society
Chava ,   Jerusalem. Israel   (03.07.13)
Part of the problem here (and in the world at large) is the tendency to label an entire group for the behavior of a minority. It was a mistake to put the word "Haredim" in the headline. You's think we Jews would have learned after more than 2000 years of anti-Semitism to judge people by their actions and not label whole groups.
23. #21 They are not racist attacks.....
Robert ,   Australia   (03.07.13)
.....they are "nationalistically motivated" attacks. I don't know the difference either.
24. No matter the reasons this is wrong.
Isabella1709 ,   Tampa USA   (03.07.13)
It causes a backlash against the Orthodox and I don't believe these dangerous acts are condoned by the majority. Certainly the Palestinians do their share of brainless violence, much more deadly, but this is not how to fight that. Root out the Muslim teaching of hatred to toddlers on up, that is the only way to defeat hate.
