A ,   Belgium   (03.07.13)
Annexation Build Continue
2. when are we going to end this obsession with haredi
zionist forever   (03.07.13)
Will the war on the haredi pay the budget defect? Will the war on the haredi stop Iran getting nukes? Will the war on the haredi stop Hamas firing rockets? Other than making some hared haters happy them what will the war on the hared achieve? To make it worse Bennet & Lapid want to make the haredi top of the political agenda ( not the serious issues ). Sadly the Israeli public are being short sighted in not looking beyond the haredi which is an emotional issue not an important one.
3. that is a dream. but i dont trust lapid
miriam ,   israel   (03.07.13)
4. #2 don't blame Bennet
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (03.07.13)
During the elections Shas and Netanyahu attacked only Bayit Yehudi, no one else. In contrast, Bennet said he wanted to work with Netanyahu. Netanyahu could have formed a coalition with Bennet and Haredim in less than a week and solve all the problems you discuss. Instead, Netanyahu called Bennet last, after Mofaz (who called him a liar and dangerous) and Livni (who said he was disaster and must be replaced at any cost). Netanyahu even tried forming a coalition with Yehimovitch and Haredim before contacting Bennet. When he did finally call Bennet he refused to discuss guidelines, only bribes he would give in exchange for support. what do you want Bennet to do?
5. Who is the real Bibi
Zev   (03.07.13)
Yoaz - Be careful what you wish for.
6. Wishing the prime Minister great success in the future.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (03.07.13)
I want to salute the Prime Minister for doing an excellent and heroic job. Let us worry about our current problems, Iran, security, upheaval in the arab world and its consequences, the high cost of housing in Israel, particularly for young people. We all have a vested interest in the Prime Minister succeeding now an in the future.
7. My advice to Bibi...BOMB Iran and ANNEX
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.07.13)
Judea and Samaria...! We would be friends for eternity !
8. He is correct, given the chance he should build on the US.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.07.13)
Netanyahu has been to America and seen how the government of the people works for the people. If anything, Netanyahu should know how to copy a better model. Make some symbolic changes, like giving up the ozrot and the glida, and get close to the middle class which has lost its belief in you. Try to make Israel an egalitarian society where everybody has equal rights and responsibilities under a law devoid of confusion. It is not easy to earn a place in history, but Netanyahu can improve his position if he looks back at his past failures and acts more intelligently this time.
9. You don't get it
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (03.07.13)
You say "four years in which you proved your ability as a gifted politician". What a joke. If being a master of zigzag and sitting on the fence is the mark of a gifted politician then OK but Adon Bibi has sat on the fence for so long he's got sore buttocks already. If elections were re-held tomorrow Lapid and co would get 45 mandates because people are sick and tired of seeing their hard-earned tax money being funnelled to the haredim and your hero Bibi pandering to their every money-grabbing whim. He's on the way down now, but I guess you realized that already.
10. Very well written Bibi should better listen
Israeli ,   Israel   (03.07.13)
11. Jerusalem International Airport
Can   (03.07.13)
That will sound very nice in any of his future UN speeches that he will level some land in Jerusalem and build and build. Actually not enough land to share with the Palis.
12. # 7
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (03.07.13)
No-one asked for your advice. It's all very well sitting in a nice comfortable armchair in Germany and spouting about bombing and annexing but YOU won't be around here to absorb the fallout of such foolishness will you?
13. #7 Chris, I can see you sitting comfortably in that bunker.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.07.13)
But you know, even in that bunker air is needed for breathing.
14. What most of the public wanted?
Geepee ,   tel aviv   (03.07.13)
Do your math. According to the elections, 70% of the nation voted OTHER than Likud/Beiteinu. Well over half of the country elected parties who would in fact prefer a totally different government - and we voted accordingly.
15. 12.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.07.13)
chris in Germany will ''abosrb'' the ''fallout'' whilst '' sitting in a nice comfy chair in Germany.'' no-one asked for you to bark at chris. enjoy your quiet evening in Rishon.
16. 14 Still Likud Beitenu had the most ..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.07.13)
votes.
17. @ Ora, # 16
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (03.08.13)
"Still Likud Beitenu has the most votes" That's exactly what's wrong with the system--Likud-Beitenu got 31 seats, so any coalition means that the best possible scenario gives them a one-seat majority in any coalition. Do the math yourself. Any party that has to create a coalition out of more than two partners for a total of three parties is doomed to stagnation because the various partners have extorted conflicting promises from the person forming the coalition. For years it's been the Haredi parties, quietly allowing their constituencies to avoid the normal citizens' responsibilities and enjoy exemptions from working, contributing to social benefits, national service of some kind and more, while forcing their own interpretations of religion down the throats of others. The law should be amended that if no party has more than 40 seats, there should be new elections. Enough of coalition building that paralyzes the country but creates government ministers with abandon, out of the taxpayers' pockets. Bibi and his "principles" ("what's in it for me?") have grown old and people are getting tired of him and his lack of substance. If there's any justice in the world, he'll go down in history as Israel's worst PM ever-- and that includes the pathetic Olmert.
18. #7 Chris, you are not only my dear nephew, but also my hero
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (03.08.13)
Forget about my standards not being very high...LOLLLL
19. Long Tem threat
Zechariah   (03.08.13)
The long term threat is a nuclear or chemical attack on Israel .land must be used for Defence
20. Also, Bibi should watch the film The Gatekeepers
Observer ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (03.18.13)
It's not wise to ignore the sincere opinions from those 6 former key officials... Also, the public should remember Diskin's views (given right before the election), that Bibi is not fit to lead Israel.
