Perhaps, then, if the UN is unable to keep the peace and provide for the security of its own soldiers, let alone the civilians it is supposed to be protecting, it shouldn't be sending its troops there in the first place. The same incompetence has been repeated time and time again, in Rwanda, in Bosnia, with disastrous consequences. No one should be under the illusion that they can rely on the UN.
And whatever makes you think that Israel can send its soldiers to support UN preacekeeping missions, even if it wanted to? Israel is not even allowed to sit on the UN Security Council as a rotating member.
