61. Wrong Conclusion!
SG ,   Teaneck   (03.10.13)
This is the sad toll of decades of Israeli Jews living under the stress of Arab threats and violence. It is a recent phenomena and not a reason to condemn broader Israeli society. For a meaningful yardstick, take a look at the treatment of minorities in any other Muslim country or even West European countries. I think the Jewish experience in these locales might prove enlightening to those still willing to think.
62. Oh yes, #51, #17 does have a point, a very smart one.
Ibrahim Sued ,   Brazil   (03.10.13)
63. Israeli abuse of Arabs
Robert Elman ,   Montreal Canada   (03.10.13)
I am a devout Zionist , but also am I a strong believer in human values, equal rights, safety for all people. We in the diaspora will not remain silent as we watch the society we se fervently helped to support ,crumble
64. Jake Stone....
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (03.10.13)
...should quit calling himself a Christian Zionist. Prancing idiot, more like. I have no interest in disproving his religion-soaked ramblings about how my sins nailed Christ to the cross, because we can asume, from his talkback, that the chances of having a dignified and rational discussion with him are rather slim. There is one thing I absolutely detest about being Jewish. Only one thing, for which the reason doesnt even lie within Judaism itself: you will, no matter where you are on this caricature of a planet and by virtue of being descended from an ethno-religious group prominently figuring in the bible, find yourself to be the unwilling object of both Muslim religious madness ('nuff said), and Christian messianic theology, of which reverend Jake here seems to be a lamentable example.
65. #37 jake
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.10.13)
“Both Moslems and Christians want you to believe the way they believe. Jews don't care what you believe as long as you leave them alone.” If you believe that G-d wants you to shove your belief down peoples' throats, I don't care as long as you treat others with respect, and what you call "Christian love'. You obviously lack both. You are welcome to your beliefs, except not the belief that you are the only one who is right. G-d is bigger than that; something you cannot understand. BTW: The bible says that when the Messiah comes, there will be peace. Hasn't been much of that in the last 2000 years, has there?
66. Vast majority of Jews uphold these values.
Bob K ,   rlando USA   (03.10.13)
Tolerance for others including those perceived as hostile to Israel is taughta and upheld. Such attacks are immediately condemned at the highest levels. By contrast we have not seen Israeli Arab leaders condemn the thousands of Palestinian terror attacks on Israelis. The problem is that there will always be a small minority which seeks scapegoats: be they Arabs, haredim, illegal migrants, women, the elderly., - whoever seems most vulnerable. The attacks on Arabs reflect not just a false sense of superiority but also a misplaced anger for all the attacks done to Jews by Arabs for generations. Yes this is disturbing and it is dealth with swiftly and firmly by political leaders and the police.
67. To #32
Joe ,   Israel   (03.10.13)
I nowhere ignored the fact of the racist attacks and called them as such. But to call into question an entire state's values based on 2... or even 4 (FOUR!) isolated incidents is insane. To use your example, it's like me calling the entire U.S. anti-semetic based on the few guys that call it the "Jewish lobby" instead of "Israel lobby"; instead of just calling out the perpetrators themselves, see the difference? I am no way condoning these attacks and the perpetrators should be hunted down and punished to the full extent of the law, but publishing sensational articles without any sense of proportion of the facts is ridiculous.
68. No Perspective
Yenem ,   Jerusalem   (03.10.13)
Jewish attacks on Arabs is but the flap of a butterfly's wings in a cyclone of Islamic violence against Jews. Considering the provocations against us, Jewish responses have been minimal.
69. @68 they shouldn't be minimal reactions...
Terror Survivor ,   Israel   (03.10.13)
there should be a total recognition of our psychological strength and trust in our IDF to protect us along with the hand of G-d and so there should be nothing but a peaceful response towards the Moslem Population both within Israel's borders and the West Bank.
70. Frustration
Michael ,   Kapaa, USA   (03.10.13)
Thousands of years living in the diaspora, chased like hunted animals into dark corners and ghettos, has had its impact on the Jewish psyche. When a small population, in isolated cases, commits acts of aggression against its perceived tormentor,, frustration has dictated unacceptable reactionary behavior over the beautiful spirit of Judaism. Do not condemn Israel or all Israelis for the acts of a few.
71. To: No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.10.13)
Excuse me, but do you seriously mean to equate Jews roughing up an Arab janitor -- which I grant is despicable -- with blowing up a bus full of Jews in the name of jihad? Or slitting the throats of a sleeping family of five? Not even you can possibly be that stupid.
72. 57. "Why should I tolerate you in Belgium?"
A ,   Belgium   (03.10.13)
Because I am a Belgian citizen, for one thing. I learned Flemish, worked and paid taxes; Not that Belgium is anything to be proud of, not its history in Congo nor its current sorry economic and social situation. And the only points for discussion that #17 makes are hateful and racist.
73. 36.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.11.13)
The mouth of liberalism is blowing her usual hot air. ''Israel has no rule of law" I hope you are never close to a terrorist attack, a suicide bombing of a bus, restaurant, pub, night club, nursery school, etc. I hope you never see blood on any street or shop window in Israel. I hope you never see a dead body being pulled out of the sea at TA beach. I hope you go through the rest of your life knowing nothing of the pain of loosing a loved one from an Arab terrorist attack in my beloved Israel. You have zero empathy for your fellow Jews. Shame on you.
74. 72.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.11.13)
well said. kudos.
75. Israels physical existence is constantly threatened
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.11.13)
THAT is the problem ! SO STOP, TO EXAGGERATE some nasty occurences !
76. #72, Integration of schools is not racist or hateful
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.11.13)
Something is clearly wrong with your head.
77. There lood has been let.
noevil9   (03.11.13)
You need to take yourself ,and others who think like you and return somehow to your 3500 years old man made prophecy and stay there. As we are in the 21st century, and there is a need for some logic, intelligence, and common sense. So all this hegemonic blood shedding can stop. Your religious wars, should have been fought then and stayed there. Grow up already, you are embaressing.
78. #76 "Integration of schools is not racist or hateful "
A ,   Belgium   (03.11.13)
"Between 1980 and 2000, the number of black children attending a school where minority children constituted more than half the student body rose from 63 percent to 72 percent. In other words, in spite of voluntary measures, American public schools have re-segregated nearly to the level that prompted federal intervention four decades ago." If your statement is true, why doesn't it work in Amerika? As usual, your post is nothing but empty words spilling out of an empty head.
79. Youth Attacks on Non-Jews
Liz Wagner ,   Sleepy Hollow, USA   (03.12.13)
The writer must recognize that the problem is not the lack of a value system that provokes these attacks, but the lack of common sense on the part of the Israeli govt, for so many decades. Israel has been under attack since the day it was born, and yet much of the world blames Israel for its situation. Does Israel think it can go on forever, being abused in this way while failing to respond adequately (if at all) in the court of public opinion, and not have the weakest links in its society begin to fray? The Arabs have worn Israeli society down, because the strongest links in your society have failed to stand up and make the moral case for Israel. Don't blame yourselves. Blame your leaders, and then demand a proper funding and staff for a Ministry of Information, to explain Israel's case to the world, every time it's challenged or lied about. Then your youth won't feel the need to act out by attacking non-Jews.
