Not to be funny but, as in all places where people are different, my understanding is that there was resistance by some to accept them. However, as there was division between Ashkenaz and Sephard/Oriental which has dwindled (except it seems among the ultra-orthodox), it has now decreased with the Ethiopians. They serve in the army, and the Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia is an Ethiopian woman. There was an excellent slide show in the Museum of the Diaspora (in Tel-Aviv) many years ago; it demonstrated the immense range of facial features and colors of Jews around the world.

Lots of Turks in my country. No problem with that since most of them are secular and the ones I know are great people too. Erdogan has done wonders with the Turkish economy and should be given praise where it is deserved. His anti- Israel bile out to be rejected however and he should be criticised for his hypocrisy over his military attacks on Iraqi Kurds and then accusing Israel for doing the same with Hamas.
