Wasn't it Assad who allowed free passage to all manner of jihadists through his territory to attack US soldiers and Iraqis? Then he vociferously and aggressively defended himself through his Foreign Minister, Walid Al-Moallem when the US objected. Now, all manner of jihadists are flooding Syrian soil and waging fierce battles to bring about his downfall while killing off thousands of Syrians in the process. Now that is poetic justice.
