1. Constant reassurances
Joe Asfoor ,   Burke,USA   (03.13.13)
I find it amuzing that Israel needs constant, almost daily, reassurances that its ties with USA are rock solid. There must be a reason for this fear. If the ties with USA are so important to Israel, then some of its leaders must stop creating tensions with their #1 backer. If you think Pres. Obama's visit to Israel is so important, then do something to make it worthwhile !
2. Deep ties
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (03.13.13)
Saudi Arabia, in the face of a passive US stance against the Iranian nuclear program, has declared its intent to acquire nuclear weapons. Egypt won't be far behind. The obvious source: America's "ally", Pakistan. The Arab countries clearly are so concerned about the Iranian threat that they are preparing to do something about it. Obama says that he knows better, and that sanctions are the answer. If "deep ties" means doing nothing while Iran proceeds with its nuclear weapon development, perhaps Israel needs to get "untied".
3. #1 Constant reassurances?
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (03.13.13)
It's called keeping the finger on the pulse, that's all.
4. Obama's number one priority: stop Israel attack on Iran
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.13.13)
obama's number one priority is no that iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. obama's number one priority is to stop israel from attacking iran. now we know it all. obama will let iran become a nuclear power. netanyahu should keep this in mind and make no promisses whatever. israel must retain her sovereignty and act in her own national security interests.

nadya ,   California, USA   (03.14.13)
By all means untie yourselves from America, just don't bring us into the fray. Americans do not want another war and Obama would be hard pressed to convince Americans otherwise.
7. @1 sir,
(03.14.13)
israel doesn't need this reassurance and it didn't ask for it. it is in fact mostly american diplomats and also president obama that constantly talk about israel and its american support. israel needs no assurance. they only depend on themselves and you know it. no one ever fought a war for israel and no one ever died in the usa in a war for israel. so, lay off the booz.

apparently he has much more credibility than you do. otherwise, you would have been selected to fill his shoes. america for jews is first, dumbell.
9. A valuable partnership.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (03.14.13)
Thank you Ambassador Shapiro. The ties are very important. The United States is a most valuable ally to Israel. Israel is the only reliable ally the United States has in the middle east. May the relationship continue to thrive.
