1. Just as stiff competition pushes an athlete to excel
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   netzarim.co.il   (03.14.13)
No such thing as coincidence. Promotion of a "Jesuit," valuing education and science, to Catholic leadership bodes to raise the bar in the race among leading religions to stretch our limited abilities as much as we can to perceive the Immutable Creator of His paramountly orderly universe within the illumination of education, science, logic and math. (E.g., this Catholic order is responsible for universities like Georgetown and Boston College.) While, with our new election, we have turned that corner from medieval European superstition and tunnel-visioned belief in ritual (which is a contradiction of Torah) to an educated and logical view of Torah, we will have to strain mightily toward healing now (rather than gloating and vindictiveness), and unity, around a logical and scientific view (interpretations) of Torah and Halakhah. Our least educated brothers must be placed on track to rise out of their ignorance and understand Torah and Halakhah on a higher, spiritual, plane. The shared focal point and goal of a logical and scientific perspective of the Creator of all men and our universe presents an opportunity for all such religions as will share this focal point a gradual converging around that same, shared, goal -- which will, ultimately, define the correct interpretations of Torah and Halakhah. Converging on this goal implies converging with each other, both in understanding and purpose. This fosters an environment more conducive to a House that will be a House of Prayer for all of these. While Jews and Christians are in this race, Islam dropped out when they forsook algebra and science for their own brand of medieval Dark Ages. When (not if) they see this ray of Light, and return to racing toward this same goal in this race, then it will be a great race to understand the true interpretations of Torah and Halakhah.

BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (03.14.13)

6. curteous relations between the faiths are to be encouraged
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.14.13)
it is in the interests of the catholic church and of the jewish state of israel to foster curteous and good relations. one hopes that Pope Francis, whose reputation is that of a huble man, and a man of intelligence, will contribute to this relationship. one hopes that Pope Francis will denounce in the strongest terms antisemitism in all its forms and wherever it rears its ugly head.
7. To N 5
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (03.14.13)
I deeply regret your comment. We, Christians, and you, Jews, are brothers, never enemies. Past times are over. Think better about it.

11. Jews and Christians should unite against Moslems
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.15.13)
If I have to make a choice between Christians and Moslems, I'd choose a Christian over a Moslem in 99.9% of all cases. Islam is evil, malign and a sick satanistic ideology that glorifies genocide, mass murder, anti-Semitism, rape, slavery, conquests and absolute submission to Sharia laws. No wonder why western democracy and Islam cannot coexist. Even the UN categorizes the Moslem nations as the least democratic and least tolerant in the world. As I see it, Islam must be destroyed from the face of the earth. And no - I will not compromise on this statement - not an inch and not a nano millimeter. I do not regret it and I feel no shame and no regret. I mean every word: Islam MUST be destroyed. When dealing with Moslems, there cannot and must not be any dialogue. Having a dialogue with Moslems is like having a dialogue with Satan , Hitler, Stalin and Saddam Hussein. There is no such thing such as "moderate" and "extreme" Islam. Islam by its nature is extreme just like Nazism, Fascism and Communism. Instead of picking on Jews and Israel, Christians should unite with us Jews and fight the Moslems. ISLAM IS THE GREATEST THREAT TO WORLD PEACE. Christianity and Western civilization cannot afford to be internally divided. When dealing with Islam, Christians all over the world must be united.

13. Pope Francis I
Harold ,   USA   (03.15.13)
Pope Francis is known as a kind and helpful holy person. He does not like human suffering, humilation and brutality. I'm sure he will say something about the Palestinian present situation in the near future.
