That synagogue is older than Islam. Older than Christianity. When it was built, there were no Arabs in Syria at all. That particular synagogue is absolutely unique. As for mosques, there are a lot of CLAIMS put forth by the Palestinians, but most of them are nonsense. What you DO know is that Israel has never harmed the mosque which, in Israel, supposedly matters most to Muslims: the one that was erected to subjugate the Temple Mount and demonstrate Muslim superiority over Jews and Christians. Your heart is in the right place but, sadly, the tiny remnant of the one-time robust Jewish community in Syria is not permitted to leave. The same is true for the Jewish community in Iran. Most Jews made it out of Syria and most of the Jewish community of Iran has left, but those that remain cannot leave.
