Do the writers mean: Israel had to invade Sudan and Ethiopia? Isn't it more logical to sue the states where these crimes against them were committed? I guess not. Israel will always be in defense. Just to think that the state of Israel is responsible for the crimes against "persons imprisoned for their Zionism"! Most of the Jews who made Aliyah in the last century one or another way suffered the punishment for just being born Jewish. Adolf Hitler didn't differentiate between Zionists. Atheists, Religious, Converts. Ethiopians must realize how far did they came in the last 30 years. only because of their struggle to make Aliyah after receiving free education, low cost housing and medicine, economical and cultural freedoms. The history can't be rewritten. And Israeli government must to be held responsible for the prejudice and several political wrongdoings against Ethiopians. But to claim monetary retribution for the crimes committed against them by Sudanese and Ethiopian Governments is not right.

The government of Israel can consider Ethiopians as Prisoners of Zion and allocate some funds for monetary compensation for their sufferings. But how we can establish the amount of compensation according to the living conditions in Ethiopia in 1950s-1980s to what they have in Israel and to what the rest of the Jewish community have in Ethiopia right now? Today the last 15 thousand Jews of Ethiopian community are in preparation for their Aliyah. Will they petition the Israeli court for the sufferings upon their arrival?

Why sue the country - your own country! - for trying to save you? Why not sue those neighbouing countries that made this operation so difficult? People make assumptions about the so called rescue of Ethiopian Jewry, and a "rescue" operation that was criminally irresponsible. The first operation entailed the bête israel community-mom, dad, grandma, newborn , young,,old WALKING to Sudan completely exposed to hunger, disease and thirst, which is why a third of them perished. And for what? They were not in imminent danger in Gondar- one of the richest part of Ethiopia. the second operation was more humane as they left from ethiopia to israel directly by plane. It is the survivors of the first operation that are bitter... Many of their loved ones died needlessly just so western Jews can play you their exodus fantasies at their expense.
