1. May this gesture be begining of excellent relations

for many years to come between Pope Francis and the Jewish Faith. It is pleasing and appreciated to see how early in his Pontificate he has communicated with Rabbi Segni. of Rome.
2. A Good Beginning..

As a Jew who loves and lives in Israel part of the year, I wish the new Pope all the best and hope evrything we have heard about this good man is true...
3. Mr. Pope:

How about opening the secret vaults in the Vatican and allow a team of independent archeologists and history researchers to have a look around? Is the Vatican hiding objects that cannot be revealed?
4. Dark times are over.

Jewish brothers and sisters. As you see, our new Pope Francis will improve, too much, the relations among Catholicism and Judaism. Times of darkness and oppression, suffered by your people during many centuries, have been erased. The crimes were awful, and you can not forget them. But we, renewed Catholics, do ask you to accept a sincere reconciliation. God Unique wants it. The Cross and the Star of David must be united. If you don't know, our "New Testament" says: "Salvation comes from the Jews". Shalom.
5. Lest we FORGET!
DavidR ,   USA   (03.16.13)
This pope is a Jesuit! He is also of Italian descent! He is a Roman! Can anyone tell me any good thing which has come to the Jews from either of the above? Remember the inquisitions? They were Jesuits and no Jesuit is to be trusted my friends.

trust , providing we keep the eyes wide open. A Jew can not be too careful.
8. Thank you, Hameed Aboughase.

9. I agree with #5 - Sorry Israel, I would love to be happy..
Scott ,   Haifa   (03.17.13)
but don't celebrate too fast. The pope might be a nice guy, but the leopard spots of the vatican do not change...it is still an organization. Read this clip in Israel National News, "A Seat for the Pope at King David's Tomb": http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/12814 Don't miss the small print in the article, which states, notably: "The Custody of the Holy Land, the Franciscan order who, with Vatican approval, is in charge of the holy sites, campaigns with the Arabs against Israel." and, near the end of the article... "This week, the Vatican in its official documents began referring to the "State of Palestine"."

i sense a bit of disappointed pain in your response. could it be resentment? nah, just take a pill and clam down.
13.  5 David: You forget the Jesuits brought the blessing of

the Jews from HaShem on the New World and Scotland where many of them fled when they were forced out of Europe long ago. Many went to Mexico and South America and Central America and North America. Thank the Jesuits! They did the Americas a great favor!

I forgot nothing. I cannot easily forget the inquisitions. I can forgive, however, that does not restore trust. Perhaps you should investigate the activities of this pope regarding the practices of the Argentine government and his condoning and participating in human rights violations and disappearing and deaths of many. I cannot easily call good evil and evil good.
15. Ties?
Brod ,   USA   (03.18.13)
Is he trying to convert Jews to Papism-the Inventor of AntiSemitism?
16. Rivkah #13
Brod ,   USA   (03.19.13)
Not so fast. The Jesuits are the foot soldiers of Papism. They are all over the world with a mission of domination. They are crusading AntiSemitism. Read "Behold A Pale Horse" by William Cooper.
17. To N 15
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (03.19.13)
Mr. Brod, there is no "papism". Read my post, N 4. Salutes.
