1. Mr. Segal, your blindness is destroying us
Rachel Rabin ,   TA, Israel   (03.17.13)
How can you be so detached from reality. How can you lie so blatantly. How can you be so arrogant. Only to our detriment and survival. Shame on you Mr. Segal. You're only encouraging our destruction and accelerating our end as the DEMOCRATIC State of Israel.
2. nonsense
Rakel ,   tel aviv   (03.17.13)
such a silly article... Im getting tired
3. Typical zionist manipulation!
Sam ,   Atlanta   (03.17.13)
4. Great Article
Bill Stein ,   USA   (03.17.13)
Great Article # 1 and # 2 Get a Life
5. Be sure Obama knows all this & couldn't care less:his agenda
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.17.13)
is much more encompassing than the living conditions of a small group of Arabs (living on Jewish Land)!
6. Absolutely true
Aviela ,   Lower Migron, Israel   (03.17.13)
And Obama is by all means invited to visit us here in the Migron refugee camp. We would be very happy to sit down for a chat. And even though Migron, so to speak, is legal, so to speak, we still have neither incoming nor outgoing postal service, do not appear on any Egged directions and receive no community functioning budget as do all other legal communities in Israel. Just another useful tidbit. Fantastic, to the point article, Mr. Segal!
7. excellent!
ecr   (03.17.13)
Listen the truth always hurts, # 1 and 2. Try taking the ride yourself, oh, you're afraid. We have an ancient land but modern people can't read past Y-net, etc. The Jews and this land, read about it in your Tanach.
8. march of folly
sharon ,   israel   (03.17.13)
Mr. Segal, you and the settlements and all their supporters will one day be written up in a book similar to the March of Folly by Tochman. There she noted all the stupid, self destructive behaviours of govts. throughout the years. You and your friends deserve the title page.
9. So occupation is ok because the view is nice?
Ehud   (03.17.13)
BTW, you can get rid of the shabby crowded shacks by moving into Israel proper! Selling some of the enormous villas settlers have built elsewhere can pay for the relocation
10. Commentators
Robert Haymond ,   Teqoa, Israel   (03.17.13)
All you commentators criticizing Mr. Segal's article, especially Israeli Jews, don't know what you are talking about. Most of you are fearful of coming to the "Wild East" and prefer believing your phoney leftist propaganda. I reside in Gush Etzion in Yehuda. Anyone can see how large the Arab homes are and how much land they envelop in comparison to the Jewish homes in the dense Yishuveem. It is entirely ignorant and prejudicial to make remarks about situation about which you possess no knowledge. We expect it from Arabs and ISM proponents but less so from Israeli Jews.
11. #8-9. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.17.13)
Countless legal scholars have incontrovertibly proven Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. Including Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242. Israel "occupies" her own more than 3,500 year old ancestral heartland. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel and we aren't leaving our land ever.
12. #1. Segal is correct. You are the destructive fool.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.17.13)
Every comment Segal made about the tininess of Israel is 100% true and easily verifiable by any school child capable of reading a map. So is every comment he made about Israel's ownership of Judea and Samaria. You are the destructive fool.
13. Segal is 100% correct but Obama is an enemy.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.17.13)
Factually, Segal is 100% correct. However, it doesn't matte what Obama sees. Obama is an enemy of Israel and likely an enemy of America too. Or is it coincidence that virtually everything Obama has done, since his inauguration, has hurt America badly.
14. What if his driver?
Al Quds   (03.17.13)
will drive him through Qalandya? Can you describe this drive please? Thank you.
15. Chaim, you are absulutely correct..
George Murphy ,   USA   (03.17.13)
Israel is the de-facto sovereign of Judea and Samaria. All that remains is to honestly annex these territories and extend full civil and political rights to all residents including Arabs. Absent such actions Israel will continue to be a non-democratic state.
16. Good Year
Can   (03.17.13)
is the name of God, positive or negative He will make it Good. Palis can't continued living large while they cried loudest building big houses and Israel squeezed.
17. The leftist Israelis and their Pali co-horts are
Frank ,   USA   (03.17.13)
determined to destroy the Jewish sovereignty.
18. ' Obama will see the first Palestinian village, Hizma' ,...
split ,   US   (03.17.13)
Some details that I bet will be concealed from Obama; Hizma is a Palestinian town located half a kilometer from the city of Jerusalem. Its land area is approximately 9,350 dunums, of which 4,787 dunums were confiscated by Israel for Israeli settlements and the West Bank Apartheid Wall ,...
19. confiscated?
danny ,   London   (03.17.13)
how can a country confiscate its own land?????
20. #12 "Obama is an enemy of Amaerica..."
Thessalonian ,   Canada   (03.17.13)
You wrote "Obama is an enemy of Israel and likely an enemy of America too." Obama an enemy of America? This is the equivalent of saying that Mr. Netanyahu is an enemy of the state of Israel. You definitely misplaced your meds... Hope you find them before you spew out more of this garbage. Regards
21. What is the background of the writer?
Ellen ,   Arad   (03.17.13)

(03.17.13)
and still, those palestinians rushed to the israeli embassy to obtain israeli id cards when it was revealed that an "almost" palestinian state is in the works. they didn't want to live under sharia and under the plo. for very good reasons because no arab is free anywhere in the islamic countries and arab countries. only in israel the arabs and palestinians consider themselves freer than anywhere in the arab muslim world. the lines of palestinians at the israeli embassy in tel aviv circled block after block without an end. more than 15,000 of them attempted to get israeli id cards in 2008 and all of them came from the west bank. know the facts before you spew idiotic comments.
23. Who is Hagai Segal
Ellen ,   Arad   (03.17.13)
Found the answer. There are two. The one that is not the writer is a consultant on mid east affairs. I found this about the writer of the piece in question Hagai Segal, a far-right West Bank settler activist who has actually been convicted for involvement in a terrorist attack back in the 1980s That explains the contents of the article.
24. # 6 from Lower Migron
Michael ,   Haifa   (03.17.13)
I did not realize that anybody or anything could ever be lower than Migron
25. democracy??
danny ,   London   (03.17.13)
why is it that as soon as the left wing is in the opposition it isn't democracy ?? the MAJORITY of Israel wants yehudah v Shomron so that is democracy !!! hope you enjoyed the lesson !!
26. israel proper
danny ,   London   (03.17.13)
Have you ever been to a Palestine rally?? they sing a sing going like this !"free free Palestine from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" so Palestinians don't view your 'Israel proper' supposedly tel aviv as Israel rather 'occupied land' so get out of your cozy left wing bubble and FACE REALITY!!!
27. qualandya is ruled by mahmood abbas
(03.17.13)
of course it will be shabby. after all all your palestinian leaders live in castles while you, the people live in huts. blame it on the leadership, not on israel. your leaders are stealing your aid money and getting rich and richer from not making peace with israel. as long as they keep the conflict going, they can continue to steal more of your aid money as they wish. look at how much arafat had in the swiss banks. look at how rich abbas is. look at how wealthy haniye and mashaal are. how do you think they made htis money? by working in an office? they worked allright, by stealing through corruption, all the aid money from europe and the usa meant for the man on the street. THEY STOLE YOUR FUNDS. go complain to them, not to israel.
28. Respose to 14, Al Quds
Aviela ,   Lower Migron, Israel   (03.17.13)
But he won't travel that way, much as it would be far quicker, which would in fact, make sense. Truth is, since that road was made Judenrein, diplomatic security teams have deemed it too dangerous for travel. They now travel the long way, clear around, then into the back end of Ramallah, because they have an issue with the security provided by those same "Partners of Peace". Just food for thought...
29. #14 I can
A ,   Belgium   (03.17.13)
From Wikipedia :"Qalandia refugee camp was established in 1949 by Jordan". That makes the people in the camp Jordans' responsibility, not Israels. If you have any complaints, take them up with the King of Jordan/Palestine.
30. to28
lolo ,   hizma   (03.17.13)
