1. PLEASE STOP CALLING US "SETTLERS!"
Riva Schertzman ,   Betar ilit, Israel   (03.17.13)
With around 1 million people living over the Green line, many of which serve in the IDF and pay taxes, it's time to give us due RESPECT and the title of CITIZENS!
2. Settlers pleased; Obama congratulates Bibi...
Steve Klein   (03.17.13)
Let us hope this portends good things for Israel and the land of Israel.
3. Lapid
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.17.13)
He's an overinflated talking head, but he's also a territorial conservative. Judea and Samaria will soon be a part of Israel .... and the Jordanian denizens that illegally inhabit the land will be gone. Hallelujah!
4. Obama only elected official w/ UN Veto in Israel or America
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.17.13)
5. Current Government Is Right/Left Wing Dream Team
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.17.13)
I think the current government confirms the Right Wing shift has occurred in that the Right wing is the new left wing. The right wing will now focus on progressive social issues while remaining firm in the face of constant aggression from Israel's enemies.
6. Israel may yet be nostalgic for the haredim
Avramele   (03.17.13)
At least the Haredim can be bought with dollars and exemptions, not wars, price tag shenanigans and the death of a majority Jewish state.
7. The small 'but' in the article
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (03.17.13)
",,,but Yair Lapid also has potential," Yesha Council Chairman Avi Roeh remarked." What do the settlers look towards Yair Lapid with a 'but'? Is he not Naftali (Bugs Bunny) Bennett's buddy? "but" means he has potential to cause problems since he is against the settlements and when settlement issues come up he is likely to cause problems and unstabilize the government. "...lack of haredi participation: "It's a shame they were left out. They were our partners for many years." Yes in the issue of building in the West Bank, the charadim also built the large charadi city of Beitar, which is in need of much expansion too. Unfortunately, this partner for the settlers development, was axed by Bugs Bennett in favor of swaggering Yair Lapid. Yes, for the settlers, Lapid could be as bad news and the absence of the charadim.
8. Well Then
Bill Stein ,   USA   (03.17.13)
If Lapid does not help Bennett like Bennett helped Lapid there will not be a government very long. Livni is a Traitor and a Obama Puppet. Lapid and Bennett I am sure know that.
9. Why seek provocation?
David ,   Shiloh, Israel   (03.17.13)
Sure, the right wing settler movement does have outstanding issues such as Armona to contend with, and yes that does test the mantle of the new government. But, therein lies my concern, what's more important, seeking confrontation on behalf of smaller yeshuvim to prove one's power base, or making genuine overall progress on a wider scale? Now, before this post gets negative comments about 'missing the principle' let me assure you that I'm not suggesting for one moment that Armona gets abandoned. I am however strongly advocating that a new line of approach be adopted, which is consistent with both the opportunities now presented, and the inherited political challenges that comes with this present coalition's composition. The opportunies relate to the obvious favorable conditions to build up the settlement enterprise; to make hay while the sun shines. However, the challenges should not be lightly overlooked. The Haredim mainly suffered due to an over abundance of throwing its weight around and testing public patience on many issues. For right wing settler leaders to adopt a similar power crazed approach, could be equally damaging. Seeking provocation instead of progress could unravel a favorable set of circumstances, and G-d forbid even reverse recent gains. There now exists a great opportunity to forge ahead in legally building up our Judea & Shomron communities, creating even stronger facts on the ground. Such a sensible approach would also lead to longer term gains. Conversely, adopting a provocative approach just to flex one's muscles, is likely to lead to an early loss of all that has been patiently built up over the years.
10. There will never be a better time
Zev ,   Israel   (03.17.13)
If the new government can not significantly build new homes in Yehuda and Shomron and break the control of the radical left, it will be for nothing that they were elected.
11. Don't ever stop BUILDING !!!!!
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (03.17.13)
Building is the best revenge. Affordable housing is the best answer for Israeli Jews.
12. Judea/Samaria Jews are residents in their own land.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.17.13)
Judea and Samaria Jews are residents in their own land. Not "settlers". Judea and Samaria have belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years and always will. Stop the "settler" lies, Ynet!
13. 1 Riva, You have all my respect...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.17.13)
you belong to the Israeli elite.I hope you will be recognised very soon as such. Kol Hakavod.
