1. Go ahead, add Eilat to the $500 billion lawsuit.
Expat ,   Adelaide   (03.18.13)
You're just as likely to win it. Damn, these Egyptians clowns come up with the best fantasies.
2. Dream on idiots!
Mauirice ,   Montreal   (03.18.13)
3. Re Eilat Back
Marty ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.18.13)
I would imagine the value of the construction lien ( + unpaid interest) that the ancient Israelites placed on the Pyramids should nicely offset any property claims from Egypt regarding Eilat.
4. ISRAEL SHOULD RETAKE SINAI NOW!!!
zad   (03.18.13)
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and Muhamad Morsi are leading Egypt to the oblivion (Egypstan) with their ayatollahish aspirations. Islamists, do you think you can engage Isdrael in warfare over Eilat! I bet Israel would send you to the Pharaos and will reconquer entire Sinai, which It mistakenly gave you back after you lost it,you cawards. Forget Eilat, i say FORGET!!!
5. When are these Arabs
Corey ,   Canada   (03.18.13)
gonna focus on their own (monumental) problems and get off of their pathological obsession with Israel?
6. just another islamist fantasy of `
Barney ,   USA   (03.18.13)
dismantling Israel. egypt lucky to have the sinai and can't handle the territory it does have.
7. Cry me a Nile,These Egyptians and their false claims
Jarred Stone ,   OutThere   (03.18.13)
Why not throw in the Negev too.whilst they are at it.These are the same people who think that giving women rights will destroy Egyptian society. It take them another 1000 years to catch up with the rest of the enlightened world. Too backward.......
8. keep it up egypt
Ethan ,   Eilat   (03.18.13)
Some people actually take them seriously. Stunts like this make them look like clowns to all but other buffoons.
9. Collapse of Egypt
SteveR ,   Dallas USA   (03.18.13)
Egypt is collapsing and this moron is suing Mubarak for failing to take Eilat. He may as well sue Mubarak for relinquishing control of Antarctica. This lawsuit is a reflection of the general state of Egyptian affairs at the moment. Very low indeed.
10. I'd give m Eilat
shrinkDave ,   miami USA   (03.18.13)
but they'd mess that up too.
11. Eilat Egyptian?
Daniel ,   Netherlands   (03.18.13)
There is not enough chaos and corruption in the Sinai already. They need another ghost town full of smuggling, terror and drugs
12. WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?????

13. Does it really matter what will be Egypt's pretext for next
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.18.13)
war with Israel?
14. Israel Must Liberate the Sinai
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.18.13)
Years ago when Begin forfeited Israel's Sinai to the Egyptian enemy I told everyone who would listen what a mistake it was. My friends told me it was for the sake of lasting peace, but I knew differently. I hate to be right all the time, but years later I have been proven right. The Egyptians want to continue their wars against Israel and the Sinai was not enough to convince them differently. It's now time for Israel to reclaim it's Sinai and annex it for once and for all. Anything else will lead to eternal war.
15. Sad but laughable too
Josh ,   USA   (03.18.13)
Egypt is on the brink of implosion. Foreign currency reserves running low, a huge and increasing percentage of population in poverty, and they have time for this. The focus on Israel is just so the Arab world does not have to face its own miserable failures of the last 75 years.
16. First Things First
Jonathan ,   Berkeley, USA   (03.18.13)
Didn't the Constantinople Accords have a lot of this area under Ottoman rule and control? Lets have Egypt and Syria and Lebanon give themselves back to the Turks first. Then we will talk. At least we will know with whom we are talking...
17. just like everything else...
Jo B ,   Israel   (03.18.13)
israel takes a nothing land full of dust, makes it flourish and beautiful and along come the arabs and claim its theirs and they want it back, happens over and over. but the land that they have, the cities they control are all just dust and filth. Try building something of your own!!
18. Eilat Is In The Torah/Bible - It Is JEWISH Land, not egyptia
Amanda Nedera ,   Oslo, Norway   (03.18.13)
Eilat is first mentioned in the Hebrew Bible in the Book of Exodus. The first six stations of the Exodus are in Egypt. The 7th is the crossing of the Red Sea and the 9th–13th are in and around Eilat, after the exodus from Egypt and crossing the Red Sea. Station 12 refers to a dozen campsites in and around Timna in Modern Israel near Eilat. When King David conquered Edom,[7] which up to then had been a common border of Edom and Midian, he took over Eilat, the border city shared by them as well. The commercial port city and copper based industrial center were maintained by Egypt until reportedly rebuilt by Solomon at a location known as Ezion-Geber (I Kings 9:26). In 2 Kings 14:22–22: "And all the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah. He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept among his fathers." And again in 2 Kings 16:6: "At that time Rezin king of Aram recovered Elath to Aram, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Edomites came to Elath, and dwelt there, unto this day".
19. agreements with arabs are worthless
C   (03.18.13)
they do not keep agreements.
20. Constantinople accords are pre WW1
zionist forever   (03.18.13)
The Constantinople Accords were drawn up when virtually the entire Middle East was part of the Ottoman Empire. Then came WW1 The Ottoman Empire destroyed and all their territory was divided up between the British & French under the Sykes Picot agreement. They basically took the entire region and divided it up to create new countries in artificial borders. Jordan was originally part of Palestine until the British created it, non of the countries that exist today are in the borders that they once existed in and thats just the ones that ever were countries to begin with. SInce the arab winter the arabs have got much more hostile towards Israel. In Egypt they are bringing the Eilat issue up again and condemning Mubarak for not getting it back. The syrian rebels are condemning Assad for not going to war with Israel to take back the Golan. Abbas who once tried to be seen as the peacemaker has now tried to adopt an image as the non nonsense hard man. I really hope the new Egyptian government shows its true colours and formerly demands the UN pass a resolution calling for Umm Al Rashrash to be returned. They should be warned though that if they were to get Eilat Mossad would use it as a place to train its sharks.
21. Remember Taba?
Raoul ,   Herzliya Israel   (03.18.13)
One would think that the 1989 agreement that Egypt would get those few meters at Taba would be their last claim - but oh no! What does one do? Laugh or cry?
22. As with any lie
silkey ,   Silkeborg, Denmark   (03.18.13)
tell it enough over the years and it becomes the truth.
23. Egyptians, take Gaza
You know ,   You want it   (03.18.13)
24. Terror and Leftism
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (03.18.13)
Yesterday on the radio, a fanatic Left wing professor was interviewed. He expressed the common Leftist belief that "struggle against occupation" (murder of Jews by Arabs) is legitimate, although in his own words, he preferred the terrorists would murder IDF soldiers instead of Jewish civilians. I wonder if the Leftist would support murder of Jews to liberate Eilat, now that it turns out to be occupied.
25. this is Arab peace!
nadav ,   tlv   (03.18.13)
Now- any wonder why Israelis are skeptical about signing any peace deals with Muslim arabs? they are NOT to be trusted. first there must be liberal democracy in arab muslim nations before there is any peace treaties! period.
26. Why not to file Mubarak
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (03.18.13)
to abandon the Kadesh area, northern Syria, which was also conquered by Egypt by II. Ramses ?
27. 25 UN242 is Israels own peace agreement
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.18.13)
Without the completion of ALL aspects of UN242, Israel remains an illegal racist entity.
28. want back wages for the pyramids
r ,   Atlanta USA   (03.18.13)
now.....
29. Muhammad had 'aman' with Eilat in 630
Guy ,   KC   (03.18.13)
In 630, during the Tabuk campaign, Muhammad himself wrote a letter of protection to Yuhanna ben Ruba and the Jews of Ayla (Eilat), along with Adhruh and Maqna. You'll find these letters chronicled in the works of Ibn Sa'd and Waqidi. I bring this up because the Jewish population of that region, and of the HIjaz, has been long recognized by Arab historians.
30. If they want Eilat, they must just fill in a application form
