1. Yeah, right!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.21.13)
Of course a chemical weapon was used, and Obama is trying to slip-slide around putting his money (and his troops) where his mouth is. Congratulations, Mr. President! You have just warmed the hearts of many in Pyongyang.
2. You sound disappointed, #1
Cameron ,   USA   (03.22.13)
We act in a manner of our own timing and discretion. We will not allow hustlers, be they Israeli or Syrian, to get us to do their work for them. We serve our own ends.
3. Oh well, referee Obama simply showed Assad a yellow card.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.22.13)
Assad got the OK to carry on with the fighting but no more chemical weapons. Third time, he’ll get a red card and it’ll off the field. Obama prefers to downplay / deny the chemical weapon incident and let them continue slugging it out rather than get embroiled in the fracas. Of course, he EXPECTS that Assad will heed the warning. Nice to be able to put off that kind of involvement.
4. Assad’s “massive chemical weapon stockpiles”?
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.22.13)
So where he got them from? Huh? You mean Bush was RIGHT when he said that Saddam had WMD. Only problem was that Saddam out-foxed him and spirited all out of Iraq while the US troops were landing. So they were sent to Syria, huh? And I bet Assad hid them in a hurry. All he had to do was make some deep holes in such a way that the tractor trailers could drive straight into them, cover them with tons and tons of dirt, trailer and all – and presto, not a trace. And now, the WMD are once again in the limelight, huh? And Saddam did not live long enough to claim back his WMD and who says they would have been returned to him anyway.
5. Don't you get it Sarah?
Taner ,   NYC   (03.22.13)
No matter how many times Israel tries to trick US into yet another war, Obama will not allow it to happen! Get used to this. Times have changed. Your only friend in the World, USA and its president told you today that it is the settlements, thus Israeli side hindering the peace. You are the WEAKEST LINK. Good bye!

Not disappointed in the least. Shall we just say that Obama has met my every expectation? I assure you that should there be some escalation in the use of any of Syria's vast stocks of chemical, biological and neurological agents -- whether by Assad or by the insurgents -- Israel isn't going to wait for the United States commander-in-chief to adhere to his promises. He can keep his thumb right where it always is. Israel will clean up your mess. Don't we always? See, now that's the definition of "ally." Of course, the United States' international credibility will take a hit, but that's okay -- it's been plummeting since Obama took office. By 2016, the United States will be just another toothless old has-been -- all talk; empty promises and no action. Haiti will enjoy greater respect and credibility than the United States in the aftermath of Hussein Obama. The man who has presided over the first reduction in the bond rating of the United States is on the verge of enduring a second reduction. Quite the American president you have there, eh? Walk softly and carry a flaccid stick. For shame!
7. #2 WHAT a LOAD OF GARBAGE
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (03.22.13)
Bush went after oil and that is all. Stop blaming the war or any US administration f''up ' on Israel. This is a known fact with the public now. if you still doubt it then you really have some personal issues with reality.

It's exceedingly obvious that both you and the doubtful Syrian opposition are in scenarios beyond your ability to master & overcome. Each of you are beginning to stink of desperation for US military intervention. If US forces eventually move to save Israel's arse, and stablilize the ME, it will be done around heavy terms and obligations Obama will set, & Israel will have no choice but to fulfill in return for such enormous effort. I leave you to imagine the terms of the contract Obama is presenting Net with in this regard, Sarah.

Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.22.13)
We haven't been in the arse saving business since WW2. Any conflict we get in we screw up. Israel doesn't need US intervention it needs us to get the hell out of the way.
11. Tel Aviv totally vanishes from the face of the earth.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (03.22.13)
The United States replies under Obama's direction...No proof of nuclear weapons used on Tel Aviv.
12. Taner # 5 Do you get it?
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.22.13)
We have never gone to war for Israel. If you believe what Obama tells you then it's you that doesn't get it! Yes Taner times have changed. A bunch of fools has re-elected an idiot with no experience and no ablility and the brainless sheeple follow him blindly.

I appreciate your sentiment, and I do agree with the message you are attempting to convey .... but I assure you that Tel Aviv is going nowhere. I wish I could say the same for United States interests, but I'm not sure I can. Obama is doing his best to run the United States into the ground. Part of his greater agenda, I suppose. Sadly, it appears to be working. Take good care, Steven. I doubt that Obama realizes that western Alaska is a scant 2,960 miles from North Korea, but I do. Well within North Korea's documented ICBM range. They were crazy enough to take the USS PUEBLO in international waters, and got away with it. They're crazy -- and desperate -- enough to do anything.

Oh, hardly. I think it is obvious to everyone that the United States would only get in Israel's way -- do you think your antics in Somalia, Iraq (twice), Afghanistan, Yemen, Waziristan and Libya have been lost on us? Stick to banana republics such as Grenada and Panama -- that's more the United States' speed. Of course -- when Iran retaliates against an Israeli preemptive strike by targeting a United States asset -- most likely a U.S. naval vessel in the Gulf -- don't come crying to us. You'll be on your own. Given the outcome of recent American military misadventures, that's not where you necessarily want to be, but that would be YOUR problem. You do what you think is required, and leave Israel to the business of looking after Israel's existential interests. Good luck at the DMZ in Korea, too. You'll need it. P.S. If use of WMDs escalates in Syria, we'll take care of that, too. We do realize that the Americans have their hands full, what with the bond and credit rating about to be lowered yet again. Twice, under one president. Bye-bye, superpower status .... hello third world hellhole.

What are you babbling about? Israel never "tricked" the United States into any wars. If anything, Israel was ready to retaliate when Iraqi SCUDs were fired into Israel, except the United States begged Israel not to intervene, for fear of interfering with the United States' fragile "coalition." That's not going to happen again. Best just stay out of our way. And the settlements in Judea and Samaria will soon become part of Israel proper. The Arab terrorist rabble will then promptly be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Get used to the idea.

Use of chemical weapons,an obvious twist on the part of Obama who was unable to protect the fact. So,instead,he chose to say what he said. However, USA was looking forward to Syrian Army making use of chemicals instead. And had they done it,Obama would have sad......'Significant evidence exist of usage of chemical weapons by the Syrian Army and as such USA is under obligation to take measures to stop the inhuman acts by the Bashar regime' Stop Press

I think the focus is on the introduction of chemical weapons, not on who introduced them. The fact of their use is a point of no return, because no one really knows who controls what, and their have been sufficient high-level military defections from the Assad camp to make that prospect very troubling. The West will still need to go into Syria and secure all chemical, neurological and biological weapons of mass destruction. Then, we exit and let the Syrians go back to killing each other. They'll just have to use conventional weapons. Of course, the alternative is simply to nuke Syria into oblivion. The heat -- something along the lines of the temperature of the sun -- will destroy the WMDs. What's twenty-five million dead when there are some very dangerous people controlling sarin, botulin toxin, bubonic plague, smallpox and anthrax -- all of it weaponized? If any of those get loose, you're looking at hundreds of million deaths. Do the math.
