The idea to "compensate" ghetto-workers with money out of the German pension system was nuts from day one. The problem is, that the money we are talking about are "normal" pensions, meaning that they have to be the result of ordinary work done by peoples own choice: no forced labour. But how on earth can someone prove, 70 years later, that the work was voluntary. The result is, that the German pension system has rejected 90% of all applications, probably rightfully, claiming that they don't believe that the work was done by people's own choice. But wasn't that clear from the beginning? Could there be "voluntary" work in a German ghetto? The German government is able to provide (=burn) BILLIONS of Euros to save criminal banks - all within days, but here they need years and years to pay, if at all, a few hundred millions. This is really shameful. Pay the ghetto-workers, like other survivors, with tax-money, which is way easier to get and to handle - no complicated and bureaucratic pensions.

My mother-in-law passed away in January. She had been receiving a slave labor pension for many years. All the survivors are now in their late 80's and 90's and are dying at a quick rate. Each one that dies means less money being paid out. Within a few years there will be noone left and the money will stay in Germany. Till then do not look to screw over the remaining survivors.

If a factory worker who gets paid once a month dies of natural causes on the 18 th. day of the month, does the factory not pay out to the relatives of the deceased person? Germany and all other countries who helped them exterminate European Jewry need to return looted property and belongings to the rightfull heirs of the victims ! Also the term of "wiedergutmachung" ought to be banned as to this day and until the end of times no amount of money the perpetrators states will pay will compensate for the life of one single child they murdered ! Well, German and Swiss insurance companies -- Winterthur, for example -- have consistently refused to honor fully paid-up whole life policies taken out by desperate Jews in Europe prior to the war. The reason given is that the survivors cannot produce a certified death certificate. Well, Auschwitz, Dachau, Belsen, Mathausen, et cetera, et cetera ad nauseum simply weren't in the habit of issuing them. It's estimated that were Germany to honor these insurance policies, with interest and penalties accruing since 1945, the number would run to the trillions of dollars. And let us not forget all the artwork hanging in German museums that were the private property of Jewish families, who have documented provenance. I guess there is no end to German deceit and theft. Germany has killed 6 million Jews and stolen Jewish propterty (real estate, furnitures, factories, shops, businesses, private homes, mansions, insurances, jewelry, bank accounts etc) at a total estimated value of 300-400 BILLION US DOLLARS! And the shameful Germans just pay back a small fraction of the money and they think they have "repaid" their moral and financial debt? Too bad the USA didn't carpet bomb every square inch of Germany with nukes in 1945. A Europe and a world without 80 million Germans would be a good beginning for a better world - a world that is inherently more moral and human and less German. To the Germans: you can never pay back your debt to the Jewish people. Even if you would pay us in cash 300-400 BILLION US DOLLARS (which is your debt to us in terms of the value of the Jewish property which you have stolen) and serve the money on a silver platter, you still can't bring 6 million Jews back to life. It's a shame and a moral debt and guilt that will haunt the Germans for eternity - if you can live with that shame. Another alternative is of course for the German people to commit collective national suicide which of course would be preferable.

I knew some survivors when I was a young. Most of them were poor, most of them never recovered from that big trauma; some people even committed suicide. My family never got a penny from Germany. All ancestors in Poland perished in the Shoah.

It is impossible for Germany to pay for its crimes. But the same is true for many other countries. Did the US ever compensate the work of African slaves? What if the US would compensate their descendants? Not even Ben Bernanke could print money that fast. What if Spain would give the people of South America their gold back? If Belgium would compensate Congo? The list is endless... Germany at least is doing something, while many others only think how moral they are - but they aren't, some not even a tiny bit.

I believe people killed by Germans were much more than 6 millions. Why do I suppose that? I did some genealogical research in Lublin archives. Someone helped me, I don't speak Polish. I found names of people that bear witness of births... I could see their names in some relatives births certificates - where are they? Their names and identity were erased forever. No survivors. Their names are not at Yad Vashem database as well. So, I believe it's necessary a big, a very big research in the Polish archives. It will cost money, and depends on Polish authorities goodwill. I believe, more than 6 millions perished.

The war ended in 1945, and reparations are payable to the survivor for life. Those reparations are not restricted to Jewish survivors. The Germans are also forced to pay reparations to Poles, Russians, French, Dutch, Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Ukrainians and Norwegians. If anything, Jews receive the smallest of pittance. Why are Jews living in poverty while Poles have been able to purchase large homes and live quite nicely. They were slave labor -- they were treated well. In the months leading up to my mother's death, we hired a Polish (non-Jewish) person to look after her. Her name was Danuta. Danuta was inordinately proud of the fact that her father had been a laborer in a camp called Mielec and her mother had been in Ravensbruck -- each for only a few short months. The only grain of truth in your statement is than nobody knew what was their real number because no one knew their real number dwelling anywhere, because they didn't participate in censuses and don't participate today, didn't/don't share their birth and death records with an authorities and when cornered they lie (for details on this subject look in Solzhenitsyn's book '200 years together'.
