Although unrelated to this , the rest of Pink Floyd haven't spoken to him for years . They obviously have plenty of issues with him to cause the rift . Today I did my usual supermarket visit despite filthy weather and a threat of gas shortages My area of London is known as the home of every type of left leaning support group from the home base of the Anti Apartheid movement years ago to the CND ( yes they still exist!) and a number of Palestinian support groups who survive off a trickle of support from unemployable Socialist Worker Party members and an irrelevant MP, Israel basher Corbyn, he still worships Castro! Israeli goods , foods, pharmaceuticals , electronic devices are flying of the shelves ( I thought there was a recession, never mind BDS) I decided to randomly ask 10 strangers. 4 were obviously from an ethnic minority group, the other 6 were English or from East Europe. Granted this was Not a scientific survey or sampling method. No one was interested in the idea of boycotting IL, 3 were unpleasantly negative about the Muslim population in London ( these 3 were East Europeans !) but perhaps most surprising only one person had heard if the Group Pink Floyd! A young Muslim woman in an attractive headscarf with little bits of glitter said she would never boycott IL because boycotting was a message of hate not peace. I asked her where she came from. ( Ilford) poor thing! But her parents had come from Kabul in the early 90's via Pakistan and UAE. The other main reason why BDS against IL is a failure , the SA boycott movement was hugely supported by many many white expats , who had left SA in digust and anger. it was definitely not about hatred of whites, or even Afrikaaners. The whole tone of BDS now is about hate, and its support base is limited to fringe student groups , a dying trade union movement and ageing pop stars. Calm down and enjoy Pesach and Easter
