to get involved, instead of expecting others to do for them.
3. Unanswered questions
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (03.24.13)
Unlike England where faith schools are voluntary aided by the state, in the USA all faith schools are legally private schools, which seems to be part of the problem in East Ramapo. How does the amount spent per pupil in the public schools compare to other districts? Why are the parents of public school pupils so disorganised that they can't get their candidates elected to the school board? Has an independent auditor found any fault with their expenditures? The article leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
4. Who should be eligible for a school board?
N ,   N   (03.24.13)
At least 1/2 of the school board members should be be parents of children, who do (or did) go to a public school. (In order to be eligible to President of the US you must be American since birth. It is therefore constitutional to restrict eligibility if there is a valid reason.)
5. Barbs of Semitism, or Anti-Semitism?

More details here, google " East Ramapo sues state over special-education placements" - Any private school that accepts 1 penny from government is required to teach according to government approved curriculum and be a subject of inspections, by the way completely ignored by Jews of this article and other orthodox enclaves around US.
7. Private schools are state / federal funded per child
Miron ,   USA   (03.24.13)
same as public school. US is a fair country. We raise children. The only difference, private shools are free to raise additional funds through tuitions. All questions are answered, but one. Is that the same block where a black guy went into elevator, laced Jewish gall with petrol and burned her alive? I don't think we are discussing right questions here.
8. Its the same situation in Montreal
Zotlovitch, Daniel ,   North Pole   (03.24.13)
But with a twist: Most of the resident are Moroccan Jews and Jews from Turkey: the reps are two Ashkenaze ladies, in the provincial parliament. And there is a big war as we speak, calling for corruption and lack of transparency. The Quebec media is making a hay out of this dispute Wait, wait....isn't it the actual reality in Israel?!

Really? Look at our POTUS!
10. the school board seem to be
Bill   (03.24.13)
crooks. I googled the board and watched all their meetings on YouTube. I felt literally sick after watching the Jews on the board run roughshod over the protests of non Jewish board members and over the good folk in their district whose interests they are supposed to be minding. The Jews on the board seem to be using their position to siphon off public funds.
11. Improper analogies
Marlene Newesri ,   New York Ciy   (03.24.13)
What I find distrubing, as usual, is the reference, as in this particular article, to two men, one black and one Jewish. Why on earth is there an analogy between Black and Jewish when one is strictly a race/ethnicity, and one is a religion which is comprised of people of all different races/ethnicities. Are there no Black Jews? Are there no White Jews. Arab Jews, Chinese Jews, etc.. Why is being "Jewish" always an exclusivity separate and apart from the rest of the population and treated as though Jewish is a race? The article did not state tha one man was Christian and one Jewish. If someome wants to write about "anti-semitism," that's what should be considered "anti-semitic."
12. Before Judging - Read More
Christy ,   Boston, US   (03.25.13)
No. 6 has a good suggestion - google " East Ramapo sues state over special education placements" Issue has received coverage in US Jewish publications. Not that clear who is doing what. On the one hand - can't blame the majority for electing who they want to school board because majority who pays tax should have a say in how it's spent. On the other hand - US doesn't like any tax dollars going to private school without 'strings' attached as to what is taught. The ones who suffer are the children trying to get an education. Hopefully this will be settled to the benefit of ALL the children in that district.
13. for more examples of Haredi behavior in the world
Jerry   (03.25.13)
google ''Our Haredi Hall of Shame''. Part of the problem seems to be a huge gap between Haredi self-perception and how they are seen by others. So while Haredim might see themselves as more moral than the goyim, the goyim find this idea laughable and have no more admiration for them than secular Israelis do. Secular Israelis are just more upfront about insulting them.
14. Number 7 state funding for private schools
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (03.25.13)
You say that private schools in the USA receive the same funding per child as state school pupils. Every state has its own rules. The separation of church and state has always meant that federal funds do not go to private religious schools.
15. "do not want their children educated with children of color"
Moshe ,   Usa   (03.25.13)
Well, sometime that choice benefits Jewish children; so they can learn Jewish subjects, so they won't be accused by African American parents that they & their parents are "racist" , and so they won't be beat up by African American students who have a tendency to civil offence. Get it !
16. @14 Math is math, English is English...

How does the public funding for those schools look in the context of Church and State separation? Google "A Village With the Numbers, Not the Image, of the Poorest Place" read and note that marble mosaic floor at their kindergarten provided by money stolen from US taxpayer at the time they're closing their public schools because there's no money to keep them up to required safety standards to be able to steal them on closed to public auctions for pennies.
18. More ,...

They 'buy' the schools designated for closure on 'public' auctions that no one knows about. Once on asked by someone who accused them of not notifying the public in the paper they proved that they did showing an add that they published in some boonie town rag in ... Florida.
19. At the core of this...
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (03.25.13)
... is the ultra orthodox belief that they are allowed to deceive Gentiles. Well, actually the problem lies with the gullible Gentiles of America that allow this to happen.

23. #19 about the gentiles
Jerry   (03.25.13)
you say the real problem lies in the gullibility of the gentiles but it does not. The gentiles are either 1/ unaware that anybody could be as shamelessly wicked as the Jews on that board or 2/ restrained by political correctness from calling a spade a spade when it comes to the Jews on the board. The real problem is the wickedness and repulsive moral code of the Orthodox Jews on the board. There are only two solutions: either Orthodox Jewish communities must be broken up and their children raised as gentiles or else Orthodox Jews must be run out of the community.

Not just the ones on school board but in general, according to their spiritual leaders teachings you're just a goy created for the sole purpose to serve them, nothing more than a donkey ,...
25. can someone answer this? maybe #13

what is the difference between goyim and secular israelis?
26. Haredi Jews are not designed to govern anything
ky   (03.26.13)
Their purpose is purely spiritual and they should keep to this realm. Once they step outside there can only be conflict withe modern world

I am glad JP ran this story just to show how the actions of certain individuals create and maintain tensions.I know enough what goes on in that area to foresee further troubles.
28. No, not anti-semitism
Joe Asfoor ,   New York,USA   (03.27.13)
I am puzzled how this bunch of people have gotten hold of the Education board in that district. There has been similar stories in the past in other school districts whereby the board was made up of Jewish parents while themajority of the students belonged to minorities. I am not surprised that black Americans resent this because they see how public schools are being starved of funds to support private schools that board members use to send their children. I know I have a milk bearing cow but now I discover that the milking hands are not mine. Very funny !!!!
29. Jerry @ 23 ,...
split ,   US   (03.27.13)
You have to remember that America is a young nation made of good, hard working, decent, trusting and giving God fearing people, that they're against the most experienced freeloaders our world have ever known. It takes a time to get pissed off enough to act. Due to our Bible freaks influence you see every day on TV it will take longer and be more painful. There's a reason why the got chased out of 109 nations and places since 250 AD, why no one misses them and almost all they ever dwell with say thank you Lord they're gone,...

(03.27.13)
that's too cynical. If you watched all the board meetings you would see that they are in-your-face fraudsters ripping off a community of blacks, hispanics and white gentiles. If this was a story about Haredim in Israel , these talkbacks would be full of irate secular Israelis. But since the victims are gentiles the tone of most talkbacks is totally different.
