1. Wow Wow
Hertzel ,   Tveria   (03.30.13)
This article is fraught with inaccuracies and outright lies !!! There was NO botched raid, there was a U.N. backed legal raid, in which a radical IHH persons terrorized and attacked in a savage way our soldiers, and as a last resort, armed only with toy guns that shoot paintballs, as a last resort just before being lynched, they pulled their Glocks and fired in self defense, that is what happened. WE SAW IT ON TV BY THE WAY.... What this article is saying is the Turkish PR lies, SHAME ON YOU FOR WRITING IT THIS WAY AND SHAME ON THIS PAPER FOR PUBLISHING IT AT ALL.

We have an idiot for Prime Minister.
3. Turkey is not acting in good faith
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (03.30.13)
They just keep pushing, pushing, pushing to see how much Israel will give. First the apology, then the exhorbitant amounts to the families and now they are taking back the understanding to not pursue the trial of the officers/soldiers. If they wouldn't have sent this boat across the blockade and instead have docked it at Ashdod to transfer the goods overland, none of this would have happened. Maybe Israel should sue the owners of the ship for the medical care costs of the soldiers, the deployment of the Israeli Navy during the incident and the rest of it.

alan ,   ohio   (03.30.13)
This is absolutely wonderful. The more hatred is vented toward Israel and the Jews, the greater the need for a Jewish homeland. The anti-semitic virus continues to mutate but is alive and well. Exactly why Herzl called for a Jewish homeland....the need is greater now than ever before. Just keep in mind the Samson option that Israel may and should use if the Muslims start an assault from all directions.
6. I felt sad for the Israel.....
Calbi ,   sydney Aust   (03.30.13)
Why must Israel pay terrorists compensation..... ? this is another war front open by the Govt of Israel to wear the Jews out. I felt sorry for Israeli Jews. We love ISRAEL.....

8. #1 - You've Been Drinking Too Much Hasbara!
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (03.30.13)
UN backed legal raid? Who from the UN backed the raid? Tell me what UNSCR or UNGAR authorized Israel to swoop down in the middle of the night on an unarmed civilian ship by commandos dropped from military helicopters with their GUNS-A-BLAZING? And what UNSCR or UNGAR authorized the commandos to later shoot civilians in the BACK of the head while they were in a PRONE position? And of course, if you do not believe it was a botched raid, you must have thought that the purpose of the raid 2was to kill innocent civilians. If this is what you believe, then it was successful. But obviously, even the racist zionist regime of Israel disagrees with you.
9. Obama is a very weak president
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (03.30.13)
the entire world is defying him. he needs some experienced advisors with a backbone, not the likes of valerie jarett who has zero experience in issues of national security.

11. Act of war?
peter ,   Montreal   (03.30.13)
UN: Gaza Blockade Legal - Israel acted in Self Defense: Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza. The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure in order to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea and its implementation complied with the requirements of international law. The flotilla organizers acted recklessly in attempting to breach the naval blockade. There exist serious questions about the conduct, true nature and objectives of the flotilla organizers Maybe it's time for Israel to sue Turkey.
12. Why Are the Rest of IHH Terrorist Not In Prison?
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.30.13)
Israel should have never released the remaining terrorist who are lucky to be alive. These terrorist are alive because of the restraint and mercy shown by the IDF. The family wants justice? Then hand over the remaining terrorist to rot in Israeli prisons. We shall bill the families for the bullets used as well.
13. Israel should apologize more often...
Mike   (03.30.13)
I can't see why some people are getting so upset about Israel apologizing to Turkey for gunning down nine unarmed civilians. After all this is not the first time Israel has had to humbly apologize to Turkey - back in Jan 2010 a letter of apology was issued by the Israeli Foreign Ministry and delivered to Turkish officials in Ankara over the whole Ayalon and Turkey's Ambassador insult. So what is the big deal? An apology is just a expression of contrition for a fault or failing and guess what Israel is not exempt from this. Anyway the toothpaste is out of the tube now and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.
14. #11 Israel can't sue Turkey. They need us.
Obsessive ,   Turkey   (03.30.13)
Israel Society of Hematology and Blood Banking saves Turkish lives. Ozan Bulduk(11), Mehmet Burhan Gül (55), Gülenay Gürbüz Elmacı (25) and many others. An holy American (Sandy victim) has arrived in Turkey for marrow donation!!!!! Europe supports the Flotilla case. Everybody is attacking Israel because they have vast natural gas reserves. Sorry but the BC Place is bigger than your army. You need US support against Russian Arctic oil and gas claims and for your national unity. If you disagree with someone, you musn't fear or hate them. To love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do? You don't have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

16. #1 correction
(03.30.13)
You are being too charitable. The captain of Mavi Marmara refused to comply with Navy orders. He was apparently being forced by the IHH, meaning that they were legally speaking pirates. The first shayetet commando who landed was attacked, his handgun seized and he was shot. The IHH then slit his belly and pulled out his intestines. He survived only because he jumped into the sea with his intestines hanging out. Shayetet failed because pirates who assault a naval force should be immediately shot dead. Israel failed because the pirates should not have been released, but should have been tried and jailed.
17. Crossing a red line
Get Real ,   UK   (03.30.13)
This is just Turkish bluster. Milking Israel's apology for all they can; playing to the Turkish and Arab audiences. There will come a red line stage where Israel will have to stand firm and say enough is enough. But why wasn't there some original form of understanding about the apology? As the naval blockade and the boarding have been deemed legal defensive actions it is the activists who should be in court for their violence. It does seem that Obama's brokerage may be more than that and he gave Bibi little choice in the matter.
