to the state of israel...but solar and wind must be continually developed and Israel needs to be the one who develops the system that captures it most efficiently
3. Let's hope Israel is smart enough to use it wisely.
David ,   hartford USA   (03.30.13)
These gas fields are Israel's hidden Aces- cards that must be played very wisely and not wasted. Do not export any of it just for quick cash- use it now and save it for the future - when the neighborhood will be even worse. If the Jordanian King had half a brain, he'd make a warm peace with Israel, get gas at great prices, and at least the two countries could co-exist and grow and prosper while the rest of the neighbors sink into the pit of Muslim psychosis. The King had better decide who is true friends are quickly. I know he's not the great man his father was, BUT HE COULD TRY TO BE. If Israel and Jordan had a warm peace, the Palestinian problem could be resolved in a few hours. Take Abbas and ilk out of the equation and peace is possible. let Jordan annex Samaria and Judea and it will become the province of Palestine in the country of Jordan. Done deal- everyone wins. The idea is so simple it has to work- so let it.

BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (03.30.13)
Good for Israel may it be more than successful.
5. Tamar gas Fds
Daniel Z ,   London   (03.30.13)
Whilst this is great news for some, the truth is that gas is a carbon emitting resource. The use of clean natural alternatives would be much better news.
6. There should be a pipeline from the Knesset too!
Israeli ,   Israel   (03.30.13)
Plenty of hot gas there!

8. Help , we need your Gas!
Claude ,   London   (03.30.13)
Yesterday British news papers reported that the UK was living with about 36 hrs of gas supplies left in reserve, supplies of LPG are on the high seas but a few days away. A supply pipeline from Zeebrugge broke for a few hrs last week. Putins revenge In the meantime we spend Pesach and Easter in the coldest winter for over 50 years. Please please send us some of your Gas! and I don't care if it comes from Tamar or the Knesset and at least we won't have to pay in worthless Euros What a b....y mess Well done Israel

14. Daniel @ 5, plants need to CO2 to survive and
leo ,   usa   (03.31.13)
produce O2, which we need to survive. Natural gas is the most efficient and the most environmentally friendly/neutral fuel you can find today.
15. Bravo...Great job..I hope solar energy is next for Israel
Shamil Benyaminov ,   NYC, Brooklyn   (03.31.13)
Our home land was and will strive for better….I just hope Israel stops showing weak side to the enemy. Jews are hated all the world, no matter if we do good or not. World bodies and UN, European Union, Human Rights and etc they are all have some kind of obsession with Israel where they feel a need to demonize it and try to impose boycotts on Israeli goods…Israel, Jerusalem Zion Forever. One small nation and they still won’t leave us alone….
16. Why it took so long?
Charles ,   Paris   (03.31.13)
Gas was and always been there. The reluctance of the state to share anything with foreign investors saw high energy prices inflicted of your average citizen. Now drop the silly 300% tax on cars. Jews deserve better than a perpetual shnorer regime.
17. Does this verse from the Bible mean anything?
Steve   (03.31.13)
Of Asher he said, “More blessed than sons is Asher; May he be favored by his brothers, And may he dip his foot in oil. Deu chapter 33

Good luck, the Jewish state of Israel. The entire world is on your side. Good will triumph over evil
19. Ahhh, the Turks & Hez will frown mightily at such news
Cameron ,   USA   (03.31.13)
Still, you did all the work so all of it is yours.
20. Electricity prices would fall even further if only ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.31.13)
... IEC weren't providing power to one major customer that isn't paying its bills. I'm referring, of course, to the Palestinian Authority. The gas supply is great news for Israel, and Jordan if they're smart. Bad news for Egypt, who arrogantly suggested paying a higher than contract price for their unreliable supplies. Now they can choke on it. (They still owe Israeli companies for breeching their contract.)
21. This day must be marked
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (03.31.13)
as a national holyday. It proves the existing alliance between G-D and the jewish state of Israel. So many sad holydays are - commemorating millions of deads - in Israel, so a single more holyday, this time without mourning would be very useful.
22. Hopefully also means
Tim ,   Brighton   (03.31.13)
Lower cost RO Desalinated Water I just hope though with all the advances in Membrane Technology..The Science Establishment in Israel are creating the vital Training and Research Opportunities to keep Israel at the forefront of this important industry
23. @2 & 4 violating the Sabbath G-d will take his gift away!
(03.31.13)
24. God bless Israel and.......
Calbi ,   sydney Aust   (03.31.13)
British gas do not deserve this blessing after all....... God is watching. Good luck from The God of Israel for those who reap the blessing. ( end )
25. gas
colin   (03.31.13)
Will the finding of gas allow the drop in prices SURELY NOTHING WILL BE GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE Wasted money , Israel will say gas is for export only
26. y violate the Sabbath to begin Gas flow?
(03.31.13)
There really was no need to do that. Especially since the Israeli companies own the majority of the rights they could have easily voted to wait until an ordinary day (non-holiday & non shabbat) in order to open the flow. I am with Rav Goren's ruling on this...don't start a flow on shabbat for gas or electricity but if it is already on its ok for it to flow. A pity the Israeli companies didn't go get the correct answer on this one.
27. just love it when all them fundamentalists get all excited!
Jew ,   Israel   (03.31.13)
A pity that they don't understand that for us Jews it is keeping G-d's laws which keep us. The flow was opened on a Sabbath that's not the Jewish way. The Sabbath is G-d's day and its for resting.
28. Electricity prices should be reduced altogether
SDB ,   ZY Israel   (03.31.13)
We're promised a reduced rate...those fat cats in IEC are still milking us dry for their outrageous salaries and pensions.
29. And in a few years comes the oil
Ralph Haglund ,   Lund, Sweden   (03.31.13)
In oil shale Israel has more oil than Saudi Arabia, just takes a few years more of research to get it up environment friendly. Still of course Israel must continue to develop the solar energy. There is a LOT of unused desert in the Middle East where one could put a LOT of solar catching equipment. AND carbon dioxide keeps the world cooler
30. Mazel tov!
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (03.31.13)
With God's help, let the next good news to be for the water
