1. I wouldn't be surpised to see my kids face one day in this
Al   (03.31.13)
mag. Yeah...beard payos and all commanding his tank... He makes me so proud...he is a proud selfless fighting Jew who believes in the Torah. Whenever I speak to him, he tells me of his latest training and what he is yet to do. He simply loves the Army, the challenge and his work. He keeps getting promoted. His commanders, some of whom come from Shomer Haztair kibbutzim are amazed at his command of all that is asked of him. They tell him, they wouldn't expect that from a Haredi.. He keeps reminding them that their great grandparents who first founded the Kibbutzim all came from religious homes in Poland and other places way back in the early 1930's. I ask him.."what do you eat there in the Army"? He says, "Tuna and more Tuna" He doesn't care..he just wants to serve to the best of his ability. Its funny when he was last in Montreal I took him ice skating for the first time in his life. The first time he fell and fell. He kept going.. by the third outing a few weeks later he was skating like a champ. Cold hard Canada toughens you. By the way he is not Haredi...he is frum...very frum. God bless you kid and all the other soldiers you serve with..

Ethan ,   Eilat   (03.31.13)
I hope it is read. My experience is even when bending over backward to include them, they don't accept it.
8. when will there be...
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (04.01.13)
... a Cherkassi-Mulim (much more loyal to the State than the hareidim) or a filipinit-kids-notzri (ditto) chaplaincy-corps officer. Even just one? Can you imagine if the US military said that rabbis CANNOT be chaplains?
9. I am sure the IDF has publications for the Moslem &

great question. Can we also ask that of Rachel Corrie's ilk? Clean up your own backyard before preaching to us?

Another step on the path to more sanity from all sides...

split ,   US   (04.02.13)
But how would you know, a loyalty to your host nation is not your virtue or subject of your attention,... By the way Rachel was an activist (happen to meet her parents) this dude pretends to be a Canuck gets all the perks of being one and brags about his son serving in the country he doesn't want live in. That's a statement and a reason others are fed up with you ,...
16. Supply and demand
Danny ,   London England   (04.03.13)
Any magazine works on the rule of supply and demand. If Haredim consider it immodest to show photographs of women, there is no point insulting your target audience. Men's Health Magazine once did a trial run of a male and female on the cover and found that most readers preferred just one male on the cover. [There are, however, quite immodest photos of women inside the Men's Health magazine!]
17. Reply to number 10
Danny ,   London England   (04.03.13)
What if a women's IDF magazine had pictures of women and not men? Would you object to women's own magazines?
18. Number 3 misogyny?
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (04.03.13)
Not having photos of women in a men's magazine has nothing to do with misogyny. Haredi men tend to get married young and have a low divorce rate. THe lack of female photos is an isue of modesty, not misogyny.
