The photo of the father looking at the sea and knowing his sons are there...it is heartwrenching. May this family find peace and strength. Some things override religion and politics. This is one of them.

...avoidable. At a water-survival school of the US Navy, I was taught how to handle riptides. Don't exhaust yourself by fighting it, just relax and make your way to the side. Riptides are a very localized phenomenon.. Slowly swim parallel to the shore for 200-300 meters, you will probably be home-free.
