The soldiers were quite right to fire at the miscreants. Moreover, age is not a bar to terrorism. Israel has learned that kids can be lethal -- do you have any idea how many suicide bombers were discovered to have been teenagers? The soldiers in question have an affirmative duty to protect Israeli civilians. They were doing their job.
