1. Only knowledge of the true history can lead to a true peace
Daniel   (04.04.13)
Nabil: "I think that everyone needs to come here and see it with their own eyes." Indeed, if more Palestinian Arabs would go to see with own eyes what happened to the Jewish people during the Shoah, they could understand the need for Israel to be recognized as Jewish state, and peace could be achievable. It's a pity and against their own true interests that their petty leaders , including Mr. Abbas who wrote a dissertation denying the Holocaust, rather than educate them to tolerance and coexistence, are condemning them to fight blindly and destructively against the Jewish state. So let's hope that more and more Palestinians follow the good example of persons like Bassam Aramin and pay a visit to Yad Vashem. This would be a first significant step towards reconciliation between the two people.
2. A truly noble thing

3. #1. Well written
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (04.04.13)
A Truth and Reconcilation Group to state factually the historical events to date.. Because one of the chief victims of the Israel/Palestine conflict has been the Truth.. And once we can recognise and accept and respect each others grievances we can move forward with more mutual understanding
4. To Mr. Aramin and Mr. Al-Jaafari
R ,   Israel   (04.04.13)
Mr. Aramin and Mr. Al-Jaafari, thank you for taking the time and risk to do this. It is a brave thing to do, considering the reaction you may be exposed to. People like you give me hope. Thank you so much.
5. Holocaust is an embaressment
k ,   US   (04.04.13)
I cant help but feel Embaressed when others parade around in the Jewish memorial "Yad Vashem" or in the Jewish killing factory in Auschwitz, a shame Jews need these things into "guilting" others to let the Jews live
6. Wrong
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.13)
True peace can only come from true enlightenment,

8. A light blub went off?
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.13)
The political enemies of Jews today have been so successful in blurring the line between reality and lies. If these Arabs were surprised to find out that their so-called occupation is a picnic compared to real state-sponsored genocide, wait till they find out the true origins of Islam, and how they managed to sell the narrative of Islam, much like they are selling the Arab political agenda today.

Habib Seliman ,   New York City, NY   (04.04.13)
Which families of Palestinians have been murdered or tortured by Israel? I have not read any books about the subject? I do know that from the Palestinian areas and from through out the Arab world people come to Israel for free medical treatment. The Arab street has started to realize how they have been railroaded by their totalitarian leaders into believing that everything wrong in the ME is due ti Israel. Mr. Gryfin, where is your outrage about what is going on in Syria today? If I understand correctly, the 'president' who is the son of the former president and was 'voted' in by '99%' of the popular vote is the same person who claimed on the front page of the NY Times two years ago that the Arab Spring could not happen in Syria because he is to 'well loved' and the situation for Syrian citizens is nearly perfect. Now, with 80,000 children, women and men having been killed and many more injured, more than the total amount of people who have lost their lives in all of the Arab government inspired conflicts against Israel, I ask you why you question the validity of Palestinians coming to visit Yad Vashem. Have you ever been to Yad Vashem?
12. weak
jj   (04.04.13)
"Jews have suffered greatly in a different place, so you guys shouldn't be so angry with us for anything that we do here". Hard to look at this without heaps of cynicism.
13. It's not the same
justine ,   ny, usa   (04.04.13)
Everyone knows it's not the same, not even close, because they don't kill the pals or their children on purpose, they're in the wrong place at the wrong time.
14. #5 - sorry but you're not a well person
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (04.04.13)
The Holocaust was the worst crime ever committed, and you demean it!? If you don't understand that then you need to either get more information or have your grip on reality assessed.
15. #9 please read the article - there is NO comparison! NONE!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (04.04.13)
16. Yad Vashem
DSV ,   Arnhem, Netherlands   (04.04.13)
It blows my mind that these people haven't visited Yad Vashem before. How can you live in Israel and not be informed about this?
17. The Holocaust is always on my mind...

18. Aramin, I am truly sorry about your daughter.
nibor ,   israel   (04.04.13)
Your compassion and understanding brought tears to my eyes. I wouldn't have expected such a rational response from one who lost a daughter. Thank you.
19. The Holocaust is no excuse
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (04.04.13)
The tragedy of the Shoah must be used to sharpen our empathy for the suffering of others. Too often, it is used as an excuse to ignore the suffering of others because we are ensuring the safety of the Jewish people by retaking the biblical land of Israel. If the cost is that Jews lose empathy, then the Jews will lose their protector above and be unsafe no matter how many iron domes or F16s are in our arsenal, or how wide our country is across the middle.
20. Understanding
Get Real ,   UK   (04.04.13)
It is good that Palestinians see and understand the reality and extent of the holocaust. It is to be hoped that they will at least appreciate the truth of the tragedy rather than the lies of the deniers. Hopefully more Palestinians will come to the museum to see for themselves rather than having to rely solely on what their leaders tell them.
21. Very touching
(04.04.13)
Lets only hope that their really telling the truth. Also,I followed, the story of the the daughter of the Arab leader as it was headlines for several days in Israeli newspaper a few years ago,and she was killed by a stone thrown at her head by a rioter who were attacking Israeli border police not a rubber bullet. That is what the autopsy report concluded.
22. What's your point ??? ,...
split ,   US   (04.04.13)
Because of the holocaust inflicted by Germans on Jews you are excused of the way you treat your Arab neighbors? ,... There's a price to pay for rescuing them from Sarajevo, now they're a property of a hasbara live exhibition shown around the world including US required to say what was told to say ,... Don't tell me that it was his initiative and he pay for the trip to US on which he didn't missed Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, so obvious and so pathetic ,...
23. 21 - Where did you read this in your 'Settler Daily' ? ,...

24. #6: You are right!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (04.04.13)
"We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children," she claimed. "We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us." Golda Meier. Here lies the problem. Jews worship like. Muslims worship death but only when it is their own!
25. #22 and 23, spit

29. There Are Arab Righteous Gentiles
Tim Upham ,   Tum Tum, WA   (04.04.13)
The Arab righteous gentiles are found in North Africa. After the fall of France, the collaborationist Vichy French took over. They were just as ruthless in hunting down Jews, and deporting them. Many French Jews fled to North Africa, and there they were taken in and hidden by Arabs. This was all documented by Robert Satloff, executive director of the Washington Near East Institute. So at Yad Vashem, are the names of cities, such as Casablanca, Tangiers, Oran, Algiers, and Tunis. Along with the cities of Riga, Vilnius, Minsk, and Odessa where Jews too were hidden by gentiles. The Arab righteous gentiles have been documented and acknowledged.
