4. #1 - it makes sense
Trevor   (04.05.13)
Mark, it does make sense in the end, remember that Bashar and Hezbolla are both from the Shiite sect, whilst Hamas are Sunni, Sunnis and Shiites are major enemies until of course we talk about the Jews then they toss their hatred and together focus on hating us... So eventually, whatever happens in Syria - Israel are not going to have any friends over the border.
5. Arab disarray & infighting at it's best
Cameron ,   USA   (04.05.13)

sam ,   jerusalem   (04.05.13)
good thing is they are fighting amongst themselves, bad thing is those who survive will use that skill on the good people
7. What?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.05.13)
Hamas going against its Iranian masters? Well, well, well. I guess Mashaal wasn't happy with last month's paycheck. Shall we discuss Arab and Moslem perfidy? Seems topical.
8. Gee Whiz.....
Moragh   (04.05.13)
now I'm really bamboozled. So please enlighten me ... who are the goodies and who are the baddies? It's getting like a cowboy and Indian movie. Truth be said, I'm beginning to like it as long as they don't lift a finger against Israel!
9. Tunnels for export
Get Real ,   UK   (04.05.13)
Would have thought with all their expertise in building tunnels Hamas could export this trade worldwide and more than balance their budget.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) there are no goodies. All are enemies of Israel.

A terrorist threat to Israel is more likely to emerge from the rebels, some of whom have issued statements to the effect that after Assad they will turn their fire on Israel. This may be bravado on their part but Israel must be prepared not to allow a third terror entity to set itself up on its borders.
13. Yay! Islam vs Islam. Way to go!
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.05.13)
Qatar pulled away Hamas from Iran's influence. Sunnis are lining up against Shiites and Hamas picked the winning side. No doubt about it, it is war. Then, when the Sunnis win, from Turkey right through Syria will be Sunni, then the war will switch from Islam vs Islam to Islam vs Israel. It will be vicious because Turkey and Egypt are armed to the teeth (thanks to the US) - and the ME in general is awash with arms. Hard times ahead for the whole world.
14. A meaningfully bad sign for Israel
Li ,   USA   (04.05.13)
that among many groups politics is becoming subordinate to other values.
15. #8: There are no good guys. Both sides are evil.
Carl ,   USA   (04.05.13)
This is a case of terrorists fighting terrorists fighting terrorists, with plenty of innocent civilians caught in the middle.
