Abbas has yet again placed a new precondition on returning to the negotiation table he left when Olmert made his last offer 4.5 years ago. An offer that Olmert is trying to convince us he could have gotten signed by Abbas, but which Abbas never responded to.

I demand Netanyahu produce a map and agree to the 1967 "borders" [and accept the "right of return" and pay restitution and remove all Jews from Jerusalem and the west bank...] before I will even CONSIDER negotiating his terms of dhimitude under Muslim rule. Oh, and these aren't preconditions, just our basic starting point for negotiations.

Why is it that the armistice line prior to 1967 is being held as sacred? What about the lines defining Jordan as a separate country in 1922? Or the the borders known to Jordan in 1946? Jordan attacked the new State of Israel to conquer and occupy the West Bank from the outset of Israel's existence. Abbas wants a map? Then we should draw one that reflects this reality.

Enough of this Palestinians demanding this and that. It's with a heavy heart that Israel should be giving Palestinians any part of the Jewish homeland. Peace depends on Palestinians accepting a Jewish majority Israel and compromising. If Palestinians can't commit to that most basic element then Israel should not enter negotiations and give away their positions under any circumstance.

Abbas is delusional. He appears to quite have forgotten that the Arabs LOST the War of Independence. He appears to quite have forgotten that the Arabs LOST the Six-Day War. Demands? Oh, yeah. Israel gives up Nazareth. Palestinians give up all land west of highway 60/95 (Nablus-Ramallah highway). Israel keeps Ma'ale Adummim as part of Jerusalem. Israel keeps only military bases in the Jordan River valley.

Abbas has denial issues. The Arabs lost all six wars against Israel. Netanyahu doesn't need to agree to any crazy border scheme.
