1. TURKEY, ISRAEL AND THE US.
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   UNIVERSE/MULTIVERSE   (04.07.13)
THE PRESENT US ADMINISTRATION CAN BE CONSIDERED ALSO AS BEING IN SERVICE FOR THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION AND TO BE A DEPARTMENT OF THE UN ACCORDING TO HANDLE IN THAT CASE, IF EVERY PEOPLE/ THE HUMAN RACE AGREES WITH THAT.
2. #1;Then if US is an UN body..
Beary White ,   Norway   (04.07.13)
.. US should remove/illiminate the islamic terror which has been going on for decades.... No other country would ever have tolerated that kind of terrorism day out and day in...
3. Turkey has never admitted
Beary White ,   Norway   (04.07.13)
..the genocide of the millions of armenians. In addition for the last decades they have 45.000 dead in the kurdish "conflict". What abouth the invade of Greece, Cyprus, occupation?? Erdogan is a hippocrate and currently supporting the IHH-terrorist group.
4. It's clear Israel has reason to regret that "apology"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.07.13)
Based on US interests in Turkey, and Obama's "great friendship" with Erdogan, Obama's pushed for an apology from Israel for years. (He knows he'll get nothing from Turkey.) The basic message is "Just get it over with". Well, Israel finally gave in. And what did it get for its troubles? Nothing but the same demands from Turkey, and an increasingly arrogant Turkey, proud that it "humiliated" Israel.
5. Kerry and the deep divide
Brod ,   USA   (04.07.13)
The region is so complex. It needs a Kissingerian mind to wade through the whirlpools in the deep. Nevertheless, even Kissinger would not be able to solve it. Kerry does not even come close to the genius of Kissinger. Kerry should be focusing on less challenging issues than wasting his time wallowing in the bottomless pit of the Middle East. Does Kerry know what great minds of the past such as Alexis de Tocqueville, John Wesley, Winston Churchill, Marco Polo and others had said about the subject? The answer is NO. What Kerry needs to do is focus on something more important to America and that is, cool down the temperature in the Korean Peninsula. Never underestimate the N. Koreans. And don't provoke them into a corner where the consequences would be deadly and more destructive, and a loss, loss for the region and America.
6. USA Britain Helped Stalin
Zechariah   (04.07.13)
In 1943 in Britain especially it was "Good old Uncle Joe" it's called lesser of the two evils .Not that the British record in Ireland and theBengal Famine of 1943. Was not evil nor the Massive Double Dealing with the Jews as Regards Palestine .
7. Mr. Davutaglo
Joe Malanti Seymor ,   Proud Israeli   (04.07.13)
You have two chances getting Israel to withdraw the embargo on Gaza. A dog's chance and no chance. Even the USA regards Hamas as a terrorist entity.
8. Do not agree compensation; Keep T out
Norbus ,   JERUSALEM   (04.07.13)
of the stupid loop created by a bumbling Obama and mr Kohn's grandson Only a crazed Obama cabinet can try and put Erdogan in a peacemaker role between Muslim extremists and Jews
9. 4 Raymond
alsky ,   Toronto   (04.07.13)
are you sure that Israel received nothing ? Nobody really knows. I would hope-there is a payoff for Israel. One thing I do know...a 'united' front will turn up the heat on Iran-and thats a very good thing !
10. Kohen's grandson should be concentrating on Korean/Syrian
Alan ,   SA   (04.07.13)
crises and not busying himself with Abbas's Fairy Stories
11. What "wonderful partner!!
Brett ,   JHB RSA   (04.07.13)
First they rub our noses witht he fact the apology was made then before they accept the apology they sought for 3 years they make new conditions for the relationship to be mended any further. The yanks have screwed this up again and until they pressurise the turks to restore the relationship based on that apology nothing will happen in the bilateral friendship. What a joke the world has become and the arabs are laughing at the mess it is in, exactly what they want in the world, chaos.
12. Turks can mediate
BH ,   Iowa   (04.07.13)
once they free Kurdistan get out of Cyprus and return Agia Sophia.
13. Turkey to Israel:
Corey ,   Canada   (04.07.13)
We'll be your "friend" as long as you promise to never defend yourself against the Palestinians and allow them to take over your country. With "friends" like Turkey, who needs enemies?
14. Erdogan:"Israel,give me more,more,more..."
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (04.07.13)
Erdogan is starting to sound just like Abbas so how he can mediate between Israel and the PA in negotiations is a mystery to me. Obama has suckered Israel big time and I'm disgusted how Mr Netanyahu caved in to him and issued this unjustified apology. If only Mr Lieberman were back in position!Blunders like this are demeaning and he seems to be a man with a bit of integrity and pride who can restrain Mr Netanyahu when the going gets tough. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
15. There is no benefit to Israel ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.08.13)
... from improved relations with Turkey. Leave things as they are. Turkey has signaled its intent by turning its gaze toward Iran. Now, Turkey is in a real bind, because it has hit a speed bump (Syria) in its normalization efforts with Iran. Turkey cannot both be an ally of Iran and a member of NATO. Turkey has already shot itself in one foot with respect to membership in the European Union. Let it shoot itself in its other foot with respect to NATO. NATO cannot tolerate a fence-sitting nation, let alone a nation that is interested in improved ties with Iran. Turkey's economy is in dire straits. The shipyards and drydocking yards in Iskenderun lie empty and rusting -- they used to be bustling operations. Turkey's increased ties with Iran have made it the subject of collateral sanctions. Erdogan has led his country to the brink. Let Turkey fall into the abyss. No great loss. They're just not ready to join the civilized world in the West. We can always revisit the issue in a decade or so.
