31. What is wrong with them?
Tom ,   IL   (04.08.13)
As a religious Jew I too pray for our fallen with Psalms today. If I am in my car during the siren, I pull over just before; switch off the engine and read Psalms and try and envisage my murdered family. I do believe that the religious way is better then the secular way, however, on this day we are ONE country, ONE people – and I fallow the customary rituals of the state; having a bbq on the eve of holocaust-day around the corner from Yad Vashem is just wrong and uncalled for.!! If you are trying to make a point, rather don’t, because you are being a hypocrite and that is a lot worse. It’s customary not to rejoice publicly on this day – so why have a bbq? To aggravate others? For what? Religious and non religious Jews shared the same ghettos, concentration camps, death camps and gas chambers – there is no distinction between the two… we must learn some respect and tolerance! We mourn on this day in a non religious way as we hug each other in grief and memory. Having a bbq is not mourning - pure and simple. As much as I would like to, I can not defend these youngsters actions, I condemn these actions on the strongest terms. However, I am comforted by the fact that they too, like myself, study Torah in the name of our fallen. Never again. Am Israel Chai!!
32. #1 Holocaust Remembrance Day
(04.08.13)
and you describe human beings as "parasites" that ought to be "deported" (where did I heard about that before?), and, even worse, your talkback gets recommended. The world will never learn.
33. # 1 Not deported
Sagi   (04.08.13)
BB'd.
34. The Haredi are not to blame for their lack of respect
Dror ,   Emeq Yizrael, Israel   (04.08.13)
I fully support the inclussion of Haredim into the military as a requirement by conscription, they should not get out of having to fulfill this national responsibility. They should also work and pay taxes. As far as their not having any respect for secular culture I do not blame them. Secular culture does not respect itself. Secular culture in Israel is simply and purely a whore of decadent, depraved, rotten, depraved, degenarate western culture. Western culture is wholly sick and depraved (this is not up for debate, this is the plain truth) Again, I repeat, when Jews whore themselves to goyish culture the end result is always bad, sometimes very bad. Today is Holocaust rememberance day it should also be remembered as the Jewish people's tragic failure day and the terrible consequences of this failure being the Holocaust. Why should the murder and humilation of the Jewish people be a the main reason for our stubborn insistence and resistance to intermingling and integration into the gentile nations, why? Foolish reason for staying Jewish. The main reason for why we should stubbornly hold on to our faith and identity should come from the ralization that we are married metaphoriclly to the Holy One of Israel and we do not need to whore ourselves to the nations. The Harlot of Babylon is the modern world we live in. The choice should be clear. Reject Babylon and embrace the One God of Israel... STAY JEWS FOR THIS REASON ALONE!!! The Holocasut is not my religion and it is not my reason for wanting to remain Jewish.
35. The hypocrisy of the secular kibbutznaknikim
Dror ,   Emeq Yizrael, Israel   (04.08.13)
As if the kibutznaknikim kofrim don't have barbecues on Yom Kippur, and of PIG meat no less. I witnessed it with my own eyes. What is worse and more insulting? The haredi are only offering tit for tat. The Holocaust came as a result of the cardinal sin of forgetting or wanting to forget your Jewish identity and taking your chances with the goyim. The Jews betrayed themselves in Europe and betrayed G-d by putting their faith in the Nazis. The Jews in Spain made the same mistake...They call themselves the raped, they should have properly called themselves the lost. They played games with G-d and then came the Inquisition. Instead of just leaving Spain like the majority of Spain's Jews they took a chance by pretending to be Christians and therefore G-d was not with them. Never again you say? Just remember the mistakes that were made prior to all of the downfalls of the Jewish people. If you want never again than promise the One G-d that you will never betray Him again as those weak generations had in the past.. YOU CANNOT! This generation is the WEAKEST generation EVER. God will have mercy on our Souls for his Glory and for His Glory alone, this is the only reason why we will not have another Holocaust. Not because of our wits or weapons, but only because G-d has declared that he will take mercy on us, despite the fact that we have not merited it.
36. Big deal, folks
Vered, Israel   (04.08.13)
So they don't want to do it our way. Fine, as long as they pay for themselves. Remember, we're not trying to force our life choices on them, just get them to foot their own bill. It's a free country (just pay for yourself).
37. Is it worth
ky   (04.08.13)
commenting on what a lunatic screams from the asylums windows ?
38. It's a Desecration to G-D. However report it is as well.
tas ,   Forest hills   (04.08.13)
As much as what these kids are doing is disgusting, you can not group together all Charadim and say every for one is like the. Just like when a secular kids beat up on old people for no reason does not equate and judicate every secular child as the same. THE TRUTH IS THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE REPORTED IT BECAUSE IT'S REALLY A SMALL MINORITY AND IT JUST CREATES HATRED BETWEEN BROTHERS.
39. Isn't It Ironic?
Ben David Shlomo   (04.08.13)
Those who are religious have a BBQ, while others mourn those who perished in ovens?
40. @23 Probably more than you !
Chopper4 ,   CPT, South Africa   (04.08.13)
A one liner is worthless, if you have a problem with what I said then give reasons and so on. Dont just go into defense mode and not say what you mean! I guess you were one of the hypocrites at the BBQ...truth hurts does it not!
41. its all about 'dafka' shame on them.
Volvi   (04.08.13)
42. to be fair...
Yosef ,   Boca Raton   (04.08.13)
1.This is not a representation of all Haredim. 2.Secular people do not gather on Yom HaShoa or eat on Yom HaShoa? 3.I never seen Ynet reporting about the pork bbq's that take place in Yom Kippur. 4. We hold bonefires and bbq on Lag BaOmer maybe we need to see this date as a renewal of Jewish people as we also mark Fabrengens for the passing of Tzadikim. Here we mark the passing of 6 million Tzadikim. I dont know just an idea to think over for the Rabbies. At any rate we are in the Omer mourning period so after all not so correct to do anyways.
43. Predictable haredi-bashing story
Dan ,   USA   (04.08.13)
It simply would not be Yom Hashoah without the token story about some haredim who do not stand for the siren, do not participate in memorial services, etc. The haredi-bashing story is as much a part of Yom Hashoah as the sirens and memorials themselves. While this media ritual is old and predictable, look for more of the same on Yom Ha'atzmaut.
44. Holocaust/Heredim
Steve Gure USA ,   coconut creek, fl us   (04.08.13)
Those who do not respect the holocaust have no place in Israel much less be supported by the state. They do not accept the holocaust because it does not fit in with their teachings. During the darkest hours of the holocaust, people came to them and asked them what to do because they were in a position of leadership. They told them to pray. People prayed but it did them no good.
45. Shame!
Anshel ,   Canada   (04.08.13)
Cut the funding off for those disrespectful haredis. I will make sure that not one cent of my money ever goes as a donation to the haredis until they learn to respect the Yom Ha-Shoah. Do not invoke observance of Sabbath as an excuse to such repulsive and shameful behaviour. It is a lame excuse for any Jew!
46. Your defense of these disgusting chareidi punks
Pinchas Baram ,   Brookline, Mass.   (04.08.13)
is equally disgusting, dear neighbor. How can you call for a united Am Yisrael Chai and then give a pass to these arrogant little shremdiks who mock other Jews in a moment of their collective grief? I respect the Arab supreme court justice in Israel who stood silently but did not sing Hatikvah more than these rotten little yidlach who openly desecrate Yom HaShoah!
47. Haredim
Sam ,   Belgium   (04.08.13)
Very interesting that u only found Haredim in parks.. Now there were no seculars in parks in whole of Isreal ?. The bars in Ta were closed ? Cinemas closed etc..... Why do u always look to find something by the Haredim to publish . Is that always the bigggg news ???
48. Every day is a day off for them
Avi   (04.08.13)
49. Dror 35
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (04.08.13)
Next yom kippour i will walk with a sandwich in front of a synagogue because of you and those charedim . The Shoa our own fault ? And what did your god to protect those who were praying sincerely ? what did your god to protect the 1.5 innocent children who were murdered ? And did reading tehilim on their way to Auschwitz help those believers ?
50. why do so many chareidi talkbackers
pinchas ,   boston   (04.08.13)
cop out and say, oh, ynet is bashing and baiting the chareidi again, ynet is so biassed? is that a response? ynet reports on misdoings among secular and Arab groups all the time-- why should the chareidi be exempt? unless of course you are a) in denial and b) think the chareidi are oh so special and holy. To think like that is to think like those dumb Catholics who for years refused to believe or hear that their priests were pedophiles.
51. Despite Shabbat siren Israeli Jews keep driving
Dave Neil ,   Jerusalem ISRAEL   (04.08.13)
Why the double-standard? "Despite Shabbat siren Israeli Jews keep driving."
52. #11 & #40
Shua ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.08.13)
The truth hurts, but unfortunately you are not saying the truth. 1. In no place in halacha does it state that there is a prohibition of getting together and having a BBQ during Sefirat Haomer. 2. The halacha of not listening to music and not shaving/cutting hair and getting married does not apply from day 1 to 49. The minhag is 33 days, either from day 1 to Lag Baomer, or rosh hodesh to the sheloshes yemei hagboloh. 3. There is no such thing as "haredi halacha", the shulchan aruch is for all jews. 4. According to your line of thought how do people in israel celebrate Yom Haatzmaut, a holiday that has no backing in halacha at all, has a date that can be changed when it doesn't work out to be convenient, and lands in middle of everyones sefirat haomer? Who's the hypocrite now? 4. It is customary to make a meal on a yartzeit P.S. I served proudly in the IDF as a combat soldier. P.P.S. Don't you think that in the merit of those that perished during the holocaust that we should all get along and not nitpick at each other? P.P.P.S. This story has more holes than swiss cheese!!
53. #1 Listening to your hateful rants brings the Shoah close
Nili   (04.08.13)
54. Why we are clearly in the End of Days
Dror ,   Emeq Yizrael, Israel   (04.08.13)
To all of the talkbackers writing from outside of Israel on this subject. You are putting yourselves in the exact same place that those poor souls of the Shoah put themselves 70+ years ago. To the believers especially, you are making the mistakes of your lives by remaining outside of Israel. Time is very short and your luck is going to run out very soon. Time to make your move. If I was stupid enough to have remained in the US or Europe until now I would be frantically making prepartions to leave right now. The generation of the Holocaust was tragically blind. Today's generation is just as blind if not more blind. If you need advice for these trying times it is this LEAVE AT ALL COST!! if you do not leave than you should start converting whole heartedly to any other religion other than Judaism because you have not been given a Jewish soul and your fate lies with the gentiles G-d pity your miserable souls. If you do not feel the urgency I would also question wether you have been given a Jewish soul.
55. Hopefully ribs are on the memu.

56. Next week, on Remembrance Day, they will dance!
David ,   The Galilee   (04.08.13)
Lieberman was right. No Loyalty, NO Citizenship! Pity he sold out his own voters and never stood by this promise and others. Already "Ultra-Zionist" Bennett is taking a softer line with the Haredim. OK, so the IDF can't take them all, but if they were to serve in hospital, the police and social services, they could give back some of the NIS60,000,000 they have leeched off the country with Netanyahu's help and blessing!
57. 40...45
Sam ,   Belgium   (04.08.13)
Did u see a pic of it ? Who says its true ?? Why such hatred ??? Just like here in Europe to thevjews
58. #'s11,40,44,45, etc...
Shua ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.08.13)
Apparently neither of you attend synagogue much on Shabbat. Us Haredim remember those who perished in the holocaust almost every week. Check out Av Harachamim. How many of you observe Tisha B'av. On the contrary, those who don't observe Tisha B'av do not deserve to be called part of Israel!
59. Haredim and Yom Ha-Shoah
Rivkah F. ,   jerusalem   (04.08.13)
I was on the light rail in Jerusalem when the siren sounded. There were about 8 haredim in the car of the train. They all stood and read tehilim. One shed a tear. Not all Haredim are as crass as these fellows. And ... I am NOT haredi.
60. Question: who defined standing silent as "the" proper way?
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   netzarim.co.il   (04.08.13)
Mourning is for the living, not the dead. Praying "for" the dead is yet another contradiction of ancient Torah. Does the khein of ha-Sheim not suggest that they are in a better place? Your prayers can change your own future actions and how that impacts fellow Jews. But ha-Sheim is not your puppet, to do your bidding -- as if any of you know better than Him. Reciting tehilim -- for yourself and the living among Israel -- for that 2 minutes is a far more productive AND respectful way to make them proud that their bones are again accumulating flesh and life... in you.
