The Iron Dome project is a successful technological achievement in itself: it can have a positive effect on other defense related fields currently under development. Military value however resembling to the Maginot line of WWI : it was more of a psychological "feel good" project than a real deterrent. In the end it was overrun by the Germans from behind. In the current daily skirmishes - a quassam here, a grad rocket there- it can boost Israel's morale but what about in a major war?
